Sage Restaurant - Tallahassee Ratings and Reviews
I've never been disappointed -- instead we're always delighted. The food is outstanding. We always enjoy the Art Gallery (one of the reasons we come!) The service is great, everyone on the staff is pleasant and professional. It's such a nice cozy place to come and enjoy a delectable meal.
My wife & I frequently take "mini-vacations" all over the U.S. & Caribbean. Along with great gourmet meals, we appreciate a nice dining atmosphere. When in Tallahassee, we always make a point of staying over an extra night, just to have brunch at Sage. Absolutely, positively the perfect brunch venue. Exceptional food and outstanding service.
We frequent Sage restaurant as often as possible. We live approximately 30 miles away. The meal we had on Friday 12/8 was outstanding. We split the bone-in 10oz filet. It was the best filet we’ve eaten. And we have savored many fine filets including Kobe beef. The Brussel sprout salad was a wonderful delicate blend of small sprouts, greens and crumbled blue cheese or Gorgonzola. Another outstanding experience. We are delighted to have such fine dining in Tallahassee.
I’ve been to Sage several times and it is a 10 of 10 or 100 of 100(whatever your scale) on all metrics. I am a business traveler who frequently eats at upscale restaurants designed to conduct business and show special consideration of important clients. Sage delivers the perfect menu, wine list and environment for that purpose. On this evening however, my wife joined me on my business travel and we had the opportunity for a date night in between business meetings. Again, Sage delivered flawlessly. The wine, food and service was top notch. We had the short ribs with stacked augraten potatoes and the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with roasted red onions. The brussel sprouts salad was excellent as well. The environment was conducive to quiet romantic conversation and interaction. It seems to cater effortlessly to both young and seasoned patrons. I highly recommend Sage to anyone wanting to impress a client, show a new or special date a great evening or renew the romantic flame with your spouse.
The food was amazing! I only gave it four stars because there was a fishy taste to some seafood items. Our waitress was fantastic, perfect for elegant dining. Her name was Caylin or Catelyn but I may have spelled The name wrong. It was a delightful evening and we will definitely be back!
Excellent service and food. The meal was absolutely fabulous! The flavors in the roasted brussel sprout salad were unique and flavorful - i.e., the crisp, warm sprouts on top of arugula with blue cheese and onions. Likewise, the seafood medley of crab, shrimp and scallops was outstanding! Terrific dining! Will definitely return!
We took a friend there for his birthday celebration and none of us were disappointed. I had duck which was sublime. One in the group had scallops and shrimp and it looked scrumptious. My husband, who loves salmon, was a little disappointed in the size of the piece of salmon....he may have been VERY hungry. All in all, we will most definitely be back. It was a wonderful dining experience.....don’t know which was best....the food or the service!
The food was very good, but extremely slow. We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated right away. The server was polite and efficient, but our salads didn’t get served for 1 1/2 hours. After salads, we waited a long time again. The whole dining time was three hours.
This is our favorite fine dining in the area. It is also our go to restaurant for happy hour and food. If you're looking for a party atmosphere this is not the place, but if you're looking for adult fun, then look no further. Sage has some of the best experienced bartenders, servers and staff in the area who are professional and courteous. Their food is amazing and creative. Sage is where you go for a fine dining experience in Tallahassee hands down.
This was my first visit to Sage and it won't be my last since I'd like to give it another try and hope that my first visit was a fluke. I had the spinach and gruyere cheese omelet with roasted potatoes and veggies. The eggs themselves had little taste and the spinach gave it a very bitter taste. I'm guessing too much lemon and/or garlic was used and ended up just eating the egg portion. The potatoes were also a little dull and the veggies were no where near roasted. My friend had the mushroom crepe and it was lovely.
Both our appetizers and entrees were wonderful! The Tempura oysters were perhaps the finest fried oysters I’ve ever had. One entree was seasonal vegetables and the other was Scottish salmon. Wine list is quite sufficient and the bar seemed to be doing a brisk business on the night we attended. This establishment deserves its lofty ratings.
This was our 2nd time at Sage...even better than the 1st! Service is exceptional! Dining outside is wonderful! But best of all is the food! Although a bit price-y, worth every penny! Where else could you get Seminole Squash Soup with lobster? Already looking forward to our next visit.
We had our "date night" here for brunch last Sunday and, as usual, it was fabulous. I had a mimosa and the orange juice was like taking a bite out of an orange. So good. I tried the deviled egg appetizer because my eye always hovers over this item on the menu so I decided it was time to go for it. And I'm glad I did. They were really good. The filling wasn't overpowering and the perfect base for the toppings. For my meal I had the special omelet. So good. The only tiny comment I had was the food seemed to be a little salty, but, that could be because I am trying to cut back on my intake. Probably perfectly perfect for most anyone else. We always love going here and will do so again in the future.
