Sage Restaurant - Tallahassee Ratings and Reviews
Sage is an trully treasure of Tallahasse. There are no words to describe flavors and freshness, outstanding service from begin to end, a fantastic bread from NY, a kimchi that transported me to Korea, an a guyaba dessert to forget diets. We look forward to return every time we visit Tally.
When we lived in Tallahassee, we frequented SAGE because of its local charm, Terry's masterful skill as Chef and the warm and welcoming staff/servers. The cuisine is exceptional and original.
The expanded dining room with bar has provided opportunities for casual, after-work meetings or dining.
LOVE THIS PLACE!
Drove over from Jacksonville to meet my boyfriends children for lunch as they were both in Tallahassee visiting for Christmas.
The restaurant was a bit challenging to find, parking lot adequate and charming little building . We were greeted at front desk and were offered to be seated even though we were waiting for the other two in our party. I had requested on open table for a booth in quiet location as this was a “ family reunion” and we wanted to have some privacy. The first table the hostess took us to was right next to large round table with an active toddler . Definately not conducive for quiet conversation. She then moved us to half booth/ half table on other side of room
We were flanked by 2 other tables which are fairly close in proximity but better than 1st table. The rest of our party arrived. I ordered chicken/mushroom crepes. They were tasty but lukewarm and the dressed salad on same plate with no divider made my crepe soggy on bottom from vinagarette dressing. My boyfriend had onion soup which was not hot and tasteless , according to him. His Caesar salad was ok. His daughter had steak frites. The meat looked over cooked and dry. His son had a bluecheese burger. He said the cheese was overly pungent even for a blue cheese. Food mediocre !
Atmosphere was cute.
The prices were good but the food could have been better.
Seems like it’s a local’s favorite.
Really a nice experience! We typically stay closer to the middle of town but we are glad we ventured North. Recommended by a friend who lives near Sage and goes often. Our waitress was Caitlin and she knew our friends and took great care of us. Awesome food and being welcomed to cork a special, favorite wine from home was really an added plus. From start to finish it was super! Highly recommended.
I've never been disappointed -- instead we're always delighted. The food is outstanding. We always enjoy the Art Gallery (one of the reasons we come!) The service is great, everyone on the staff is pleasant and professional. It's such a nice cozy place to come and enjoy a delectable meal.
My wife & I frequently take "mini-vacations" all over the U.S. & Caribbean. Along with great gourmet meals, we appreciate a nice dining atmosphere. When in Tallahassee, we always make a point of staying over an extra night, just to have brunch at Sage. Absolutely, positively the perfect brunch venue. Exceptional food and outstanding service.
We frequent Sage restaurant as often as possible. We live approximately 30 miles away. The meal we had on Friday 12/8 was outstanding. We split the bone-in 10oz filet. It was the best filet we’ve eaten. And we have savored many fine filets including Kobe beef. The Brussel sprout salad was a wonderful delicate blend of small sprouts, greens and crumbled blue cheese or Gorgonzola. Another outstanding experience. We are delighted to have such fine dining in Tallahassee.
I’ve been to Sage several times and it is a 10 of 10 or 100 of 100(whatever your scale) on all metrics. I am a business traveler who frequently eats at upscale restaurants designed to conduct business and show special consideration of important clients. Sage delivers the perfect menu, wine list and environment for that purpose. On this evening however, my wife joined me on my business travel and we had the opportunity for a date night in between business meetings. Again, Sage delivered flawlessly. The wine, food and service was top notch. We had the short ribs with stacked augraten potatoes and the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with roasted red onions. The brussel sprouts salad was excellent as well. The environment was conducive to quiet romantic conversation and interaction. It seems to cater effortlessly to both young and seasoned patrons. I highly recommend Sage to anyone wanting to impress a client, show a new or special date a great evening or renew the romantic flame with your spouse.
The food was amazing! I only gave it four stars because there was a fishy taste to some seafood items. Our waitress was fantastic, perfect for elegant dining. Her name was Caylin or Catelyn but I may have spelled The name wrong. It was a delightful evening and we will definitely be back!
Excellent service and food. The meal was absolutely fabulous! The flavors in the roasted brussel sprout salad were unique and flavorful - i.e., the crisp, warm sprouts on top of arugula with blue cheese and onions. Likewise, the seafood medley of crab, shrimp and scallops was outstanding! Terrific dining! Will definitely return!
We took a friend there for his birthday celebration and none of us were disappointed. I had duck which was sublime. One in the group had scallops and shrimp and it looked scrumptious. My husband, who loves salmon, was a little disappointed in the size of the piece of salmon....he may have been VERY hungry. All in all, we will most definitely be back. It was a wonderful dining experience.....don’t know which was best....the food or the service!
