The restaurant is cozy. Menu not real large. Service was fabulous. Our steaks were a bit overdone, but they were very crowded. Nice wine menu.
This was my second visit went on a Saturday for brunch only to find out the brunch menu is only available on Sundays. No problem the lunch menus is very good also. Had the sirloin steak sandwich it was very tasty and the bread was divine ordered the house made chips had good flavor but a bit too much oil to really enjoy them. Overall a very good meal worth the price.
Quiet yet upbeat vibes in comforting surroundings, fascinating always changing art work, professional efficient & accommodating staff and an extraordinary menu of locally sourced offerings -- it's understated fine dining and our #1 choice time and again. This visit we thoroughly enjoyed the duck, pork chop and chicken dishes -- absolutely divine. We asked our server to send our applause back to the highly talented chef.
Sage is definitely a special occasion establishment when going out for dinner. The food was very good, weight staff was great. Setting is very nice and it's quiet so you can talk with your party and that is real nice since a lot of Tallahassee spots are pretty loud. I would say I wish their wine pours were a little better for the price. Or maybe even a 1 hour happy hour. Regardless I would eat there again and suggest to my friends that haven't tried Sage to go for the gusto.
Sage remains our "go to" for special occasions or just wanting a guaranteed good meal. Once again we were not disappointed and our anniversary dinner was wonderful!
One of my girlfriends selected The Sage as a lunch spot for us (new retirees) to meet as our inaugural site. Great choice for food, cocktails, and conversation!!!
Excellent service- excellent food- excellent
Pre-dinner drinks- excellent wine.
On a scale of one to five, a TEN.
This is my granddaughter's favorite restaurant for brunch, and she always wants to go there as first choice. I also love the eggs hussarde and we both look forward to flourless chocolate cake.
Wonderful. One of Tully's best restaurants. The food is always very tasty. Never have had a bad experience. Well worth the cost.
Wonderful as always. Well prepared dishes with innovative use of ingredients. Special attention paid to seasonal and local options whenever available. Appealing to the eye as well as the palate. Impeccable, knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant service.
Service was a little slow. I thought we would never receive the order ahead birthday desert. My soup although delicious was cold!
We have been to Sage several times but never for brunch, we will definitely be back.
Returned to Tallahassee primarily to dine again at Sage. We weren't disappointed. Excellent service, atmosphere and particularly food. Enjoyed the crab cake appetizer, and salmon entree and lamb shank entree.
Service and food was outstanding
Excellent menu choices, consistent! Wait staff are friendly. Great local restaurant!
I almost forgot I was still in Tallahassee, more like California. The menu is complex but not so much that it sounds like a lab experiment. Ordered the crab cake and deviled eggs three ways appetizers. the crab cakes were excellent whole lump crab more crab than cake and the deviled eggs well bacon and eggs go best together in any combination including in a deviled combination. I really enjoyed the brunch menu and cant wait to go back for dinner.
Overall our food was delicious - with a few minor exceptions. May be our taste preference, not the fault of the chef. However, the biggest complaint is the extremely tight set up of the seating for 2. The tables are too small, you are too close to other diners and not enough space for the servers to pass behind without brushing your back. The prices are a bit high.
Sat outside for lunch. One had oysters the other chicken crepes. Yummy food, good service, nice setting. Took one star off for ambience because we were seated near the door and there was lots of in and out.
We were there for lunch. I had onion soup and house-made truffle parmesan chips. Spouse had Sage salad topped with grilled sirloin. Delicious as always.
This was my second visit in 4 years and the food continues to be outstanding!
I love eating at Sage. The food has great flavor and the staff is very kind. I especially like eating outside. I highly recommend
Nice ambiance, quiet, romantic. Started off well with bread and appetizer but then took over an hour to get entrees and hardly ever saw our waitress, we thought she had left. We wanted to leave too but we were starving and had waited so long already. Food portions skimpy for the price and not worth over an hour wait.
Wonderful! This was my second time at Sage and we really enjoyed the experience. The deviled eggs were really fun and tasty, the oysters on the half shell were wonderful as well. Everything about our experience was amazing.
Waiter was amazing! Very attentive
Took the wife there for a late Valentine's date night. Very nice restaurant, very appropriate lightning. Would definitely go back! (And she liked it too!)
Good food, very pleasant waiter, comfy seat location, and I love the wall decorations of local artists works for sale.
Sage is great on a weekday for lunch. It was. I hope it continues to be. I had never seen it so crowded on a week night. We were cramped. The noise was very bad--everyone trying to talk over the noise, which continued to grow. The menu is tired. The lamb was a big disappointment --the sauce tasted like, well . . . cafeteria fare. I have never had a less enjoyable meal.
I worry that Sage will become a less than desired place for a quiet and well prepared meal. We need Sage. Why book more people than you can possibly serve well?
We had a wonderful meal in every regard made better by the superlative service by our server Luis. Both the appetizers (fresh oysters) and entrees ( duck and pork tenderloin) were prepared to perfection. As wonderful as the food was, the service, expertise and kindness shown b Luis made a fine meal truly exceptional. When we return (soon) we will make certain to join him for our meal..
Great brunch. Probably the best quiche I've ever had.
Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. Our table wasn't ready at our reservation time, we had to ask to be waited on, and our waiter never told us specials and seemed too busy. Our meal of shrimp and scallops was okay, but wouldn't order it again.
Always fantastic service and food. Being seated so closely to other tables certainly takes a bit of the romance out of it, but this place is always wonderful!
Sage is Tallahassee’s premier restaurant. We frequent Sage and have never been disappointed. Our favorite selections are the Fried Oysters for appetizers, roasted brussel sprout salad with blue cheese and the tenderloin entree. And the wine selection is a delight. It is pricey but definitely worth it.
Great little gem. Keep going! Love the quiche and the daily soups.
Always enjoy my dining experience at Sage. The best quiche in town. Appreciated being able to have a long leisurely lunch visit with an out of town relative I'd not seen in several years.
One aid my Tallahassee favorites.
Excellent service and food. Highly recommend Sage!
Always pleasurable dining and attentive service. Food is unfailingly good and creative!
Fantastic! Don't eat at the same old chain restaurant. Sage is an impressive locally owned establishment that offers a delectable meal and craft cocktails. Perfect for date night or a business dinner.
Our experience was fabulous And the hostess found a more quiet table for us, because I told her one person in our party was a big hard of hearing...she put us in a corner, which really helped with the chatter. Our server was sweet and all four meals were YUM!
