SAGE Ratings and Reviews
There were four of us. Service, especially drinks service, was a little slow. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers and entrees except for my wife, who thought her tofu pad thai was mushy. I would hesitate to call this a Thai restaurant however due to the lack of variety in the menu. But on the whole it was a perfectly good dinner. Is this a case of damning with faint praise? No, it should not be construed as such.
Great last minute find for a girls night out on a Friday night. There was live jazz music playing, and although we did not get to sit outside due to the rain, we saw that there is garden seating available. The waiter completely forgot about us (for about an hour,) and it wasn't until we got the attention of another waitress that we got our dessert menu and check. Overall it was a nice restaurant and I would go back.
We weren't given menus until five minutes after we sat down and asked for them. We weren't acknowledged after that for ten minutes. The food was not slow, but by the time the waitress asked us how the meal was, we had finished. Flagging her down to order another drink proved to be nearly impossible. And the place wasn't even that busy. Good wine, amazing food. The service obviously leaves a lot to be desired. Halfway through the meal, there was live music, for one song, then it went away. That was slightly strange. I would go back for the food, maybe. Mostly because there's not a lot of other stuff in this area.
From the decor to the service there was wow across the board. When the food came out i was quite impressed at how well prepared and how fresh and tasty everything was. Judging from the amazing low prices i was expecting low quality food, but i was pleasantly surprised. It is a date worthy restauraunt with amazing variety that leaves you wanting to come back to taste the foods that you havent tried until youve tasted every iota of thier extensive menu and then come back to start your taste adventure all over again.
I went to sage for my birthday dinner with three of my girlfriends . They say us at a really nice table in the back with nice tree with lights . It was great for pictures . The food was really good . The crab cakes appetizer was really good . We also ordered chocolate ribs ,dumplings ,curry puffs. I orderd the skirt steak with sweet potato fries really really good . I also orderd this punch drink , it was perfect for me because I don't like strong drinks . They had a live band that played happy birthday for me which was awesome and I had red velvet cake . I ended up taking it home because I was so full . I would defiantly go back because the food was great and so reasonable priced .
What more can I say? The spicy chicken wings are great, just the right amount of of spicy chili sauce and literally coming off of the bone. Shrimp dumplings, perfect sizing, a mouthful of well seasoned shrimp. Grilled salmon and jumbo shrimp are cooked to tender perfection. You will want more after you have had this. My God-Mother had the crab-meat fried rice in which she ended up taking home, tasty but too much for her. She did mention the flavor and that the chef was not being stingy with the crab. Bellini's to top the afternoon off!
I know most folks turn to Sage for take-out, but please consider going to the location! Sage is never crowded, the services is always amazing, and the food is not only delicious but beautifully presented. I had my most recent birthday here and everyone had a wonderful time. Sage is easily one of the best restaurants in the neighborhood.
We ventured out to Sage on the great reviews of previous diners here. Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience here and are assuming this is not typical.
The service was on the slow side and they accidentally gave my dish to another table before realizing the mistake. For the food, I ordered chicken Pad Thai and found the chicken to be on the rubbery side and was difficult to find any peanut in the sauce (fresh or otherwise). My wife's dish, I don't remember the name of it, was bland and the sauce tasted like from a jar.
On the bright side, the live music and décor was as a nice feature and everyone else there seemed to be enjoying the food.
This restaurant was decently priced for such good quality food. The restaurant's decor was done tastefully and the staff was friendly. Only con to me was that we did a 10PM reservation, only to walk in and find out that last call (for food AND drinks!) was 10:15PM.
I made a reservation two weeks in advance for a large group on Valentine's day. My party had to wait for over 30 minutes for our table. The hostess told us, "Well a lot of reservations popped up at once" and "We didn't anticipate this many people coming"... which seemed silly to me since it was Valentine's Day. Then the hostess asked us if we'd like a booth in the main room or if we'd like to squeeze into a table that wasn't large enough for my group. I said we'd prefer the booth and she was rude about it. I don't know why she gave me the option.
Once we were seated we waited a long time before a waitress greeted us and took our orders.
That being said, the food was great and very reasonably priced. Cocktails were great too. I'm guessing the service is better on a regular night.
The service needs some work. Even though it was Valentine's Day dinner, it wasn't all that crowded. There shouldn't have been a long wait for us to get our dessert and then the bill. I'm pretty sure we were only checked up on once for the entire meal. Overall, it was a very nice place, great environment. First time there so I wouldn't know how lunch time is. Dinner was great!
