About Sagaponack Bar and Grill
Sagaponack Bar & Grill is a Modern American restaurant specializing in fresh seafood. Named after the Southampton village, Sagaponack uses only local, seasonal ingredients, which executive chef Franco Lee incorporates into his seasonal menus. The foods was outstanding . I am surprise how easy it was to make a reservation.Their Paella 🥘 was one of the best I had, little bit small but very very tasty.
Snow crab legs was sweet and tender.
Half dozen Oyester and Littleneck sweet and juicy.
Definitely going back soon.
The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent for me and the people dining with me. While on one hand, that would be very nice, on the other hand it caused concern for us when a neighboring table of customers with dark skin pigmentation seemed to be totally ignored. The night was busy, but, when comparing the service provided to me (a white guy) and the two other white people with me, with that of the people at the table next to us, there is really no comparison. While the restaurant's food was amazing, I am still (days later) disturbed by the fact that I never needed to raise my white hand once to get a server's attention, but a woman at the table next to me had her black hand waving in the air for a long time, and she was still ignored. After too much waiting, they left the restaurant, without being served as much as a glass of water in all the time they sat. For that reason, while I cannot fault them for serving me poorly, I can and do fault them for what appeared to be discrimination based on skin color. I would love to give them a 5-star review, because the food was amazing, but an environment where there is discrimination cannot be described as being anything other than "poor."
The four of us that dined were very pleased
With the dining experience. Although it's a very noisy bar atmosphere, we were able to be seated in a little quieter area. Happy Hour oysters were excellent($1.00 ea.) and the entrees were as well. We would all definitely return.
Met a friend for lunch which was great; she works in the neighborhood & we had been one time before; it was a wonderful afternoon. Good was very good especially the French fries with that outrageous dipping sauce. Shrimp cocktail & fish tacos delicious as well. Service perfect as was ambiance. Will be back very soon .
OK: the negative: the oysters (raw) weren't very good. Maybe it's the wrong month or something (or maybe if they can't serve good enough oysters they should withdraw them from the menu). Everything else was excellent--really fresh lobster, nice dessert, good local drinks. It's a bit noisy but manageable. The ambiance is nothing special, but the vibes are very good. We enjoyed dinner there a lot...
Great place for happy hour and dinner after work. The happy hour menu is great especially the $5 Wollfer estate wines. I love the steamed clams, rib eye and of course the pesto fries!! Also highly recommend the fish and chips. The fish melts in your mouth. The soft shell crab sandwich was too heavy and over fried.
I ordered off of the Saturday brunch menu and thought that the lobster benedict was disappointing...there was hardly any Béarnaise sauce and I certainly could not taste any tarragon. The English muffins didn't seem to be toasted and were soggy beyond belief. The salad greens were somewhat wilted and were served with a few drops of vinegar. The glasses of sauvignon blanc and prosecco did not taste very good, which was surprising since the effort is made to pick special long island wines. The service was very good and friendly which made up for the food. The atmosphere and neighborhood is very pleasant. Maybe just a new chef is needed!
Met my adult daughter for a quick bite before she crossed the river to meet with her friend there. Location suited us perfectly. We enjoyed the All Long Island wine list, particularly the Wofford Rose. The Scotch wasn't bad either! ;-)

After reading reviews on different sites we had dinner last night at Sagaponack. Upon entering we encountered a very good vibe, mostly a younger crowd but mixed. Service from waitron Kate was very friendly ....on point. Food was great. ..we had the pesto fries and oysters to start followed by the salmon and 20oz ribeye steak. Everything was top notch. Prices and food quality were great...happy hour deal probably the best in ny. We are planning to go back for another meal.
We were there on a Sunday evening, so the restaurant wasn't very full and the noise level was practically non-existent. The ambiance was kind of beachy and pleasant with varied colors and textures. The menu is creative with an emphasis on seafood, which is why we went there. The appetizer and entrees that we had, all shell fish and shrimp, were prepared and presented with great care and seasoned perfectly. The portions were just right, not skimpy but not overbearing. I can't think of anything we would change.
The place is good for snacks and happy hours. We sat by the bar waiting for the rest of the party. The flatbread was delicious and good portion. The wine mostly from Woeffer Estate. Then we sat down for dinner. The entree were really small portion. The lobster roll was $28 and the lobster didn't fill up the hot dog bun. The paella just as small. The few selections of the dinner entree would more like tapas. Happy hours are great.
The fare is delicious and the waitstaff friendly and good. It's become a place where young people gather around the bar after work, making it very cheerful, but no longer a place for conversation with your dinner. However, the food is so good that we'll try it again at a different time of day.
I have been to Sagaponack twice, and I doubt I'll return. The food is okay but doesn't quite live up to the promise of the menu. The chef has some culinary ambition -- e.g., grilled octopus with slivers of pear, halved grapes, and bits of cauliflower -- but the combinations don't always work. For those who like French fries, Sagaponack is a good bet.
