About Saffron Restaurant
Saffron is a family owned restaurant in the heart of Howard Beach.
While we offer a variety of traditional Spanish tapas, we also offer a wide variety of innovative dishes which incorporate Italian, Greek, Cuban, Asian, and American styles into made-from-scratch dishes you will never find anywhere else. In addition to Meat, Seafood, and Vegetarian options available for every visitor, our Chef is also able to deftly assist with any dietary needs or restrictions you may have.
Saffron has plenty of free parking located in the rear and we are happy to accept orders for take-out.

Flamenco performances are held once a month along with a weekly flamenco guitarist. Performance dates do vary; It is recommended to check our facebook or website to find out about our upcoming shows.
We are flexible to our guests needs. If interested in off-site catering, Saffron will customize menu options for any customer interested and will customize package options.

A great restaurant within a quick and easy ride from JFK airport. Good selection of small plates-- we made a nice lunch our of the small plate selection.
Their ethnic dishes are very good.. Mixed chorizo and onions was great, as well as the charred pulpo, and ropa vieja tacos. Asparagus a La Plancha was great and stems were peeled on the larger diameter pieces--well done!
This will be my go to restaurant whenever near JFK.
Stack up on the tapas!! They're great. Food, and service were both amazing. Wasn't packed when we went, so the noise level wasn't an issue at all. Only slight drawback was that the bill ended up being slightly pricy. Definitely not a deal-breaker though. I'll be going back for sure 👍🏾
I took my dad there for the first time (for him) for father day and he said that was one of the best dinner he had in a long time and the tapas where grate . I myself visit Saffron with my wife and try to have something different each time and are never disappointed. One of my favorite restaurant. By far.
Excellent food, excellent service. Family owned restaurant. I look forward to celebrating many more event's at Saffron. Extremely friendly staff. Beautiful decor. They can accommodate from 1 to 100 people possibly more. Great for a casual dinner or a romantic date. Very pleasurable dining experience.

We stopped by here because it was one of the closest restaurants to JFK on OpenTable when we needed a quick place to grab a bite between a domestic and international transfer with friends who were not continuing on the next leg and who didn't want the lame airport options available before security. We weren't disappointed by the proximity to the airport or the overall experience but the food isn't necessarily anything special (crab cakes were actually quite good, just nothing you can't get outside of manhattan) and there was a graduation party in progress which certainly added to the noiselevel (not properly separated and they had a DJ so became very difficult for anyone in the restaurant to have a conversation). Still, they warned about this before being seated so it was our fault for staying!
My son and I had brunch on Mother's Day. It was lovely. The choices were ample and the food was delicious. I have been there before with friends and would definitely return. It was very friendly from the moment we entered, escorted to our table, which was waiting for us, and the server was friendly as well.
Food, service and ambiance were good but the noise level was terrible and extremely distracting. People were just about screaming while speaking across their tables making it very uncomfortable for others trying to unwind enjoy conversation and our meal.
The people should be asked to turn it down a bit to respect others. I was there on a date and it was difficult to converse. I do not think I will be coming back.

THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT BUT $39.00 FOR BRAISED SHORT RIBS IS A LITTLE HIGH.
THE WAITRESS AVIE WAS GREAT SHE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING ON THE MENU.
Have been there many times. Drive from Long Island because food is so good.
A little surprised that they were not able to use the Open Table App reservation.
They said that only the owner was able to do this and he was not there. Had to contact open table to get points.
The restaurant was completely empty except for my party. Judging by that I would have expected exceptional service however it was adequate and seemed slow at times. The brunch menu stated that a Peach Bellini drink was available however they were out of Peach Bellini. Although the food was good, the overall brunch, price fixed at $30 seemed high to me in comparison with other brunches I have had in other Queens locales, particularly Astoria. Perhaps it it included desert I would have felt differently.
We were a party of 6 for brunch on a Saturday at noon. They had one waiter to be the bartender, waiter and busboy and to make matters worse, this was his first day working there. Needless to say, it wasn't the best experience. There were only 4 tables altogether and yet to get a second bloody mary was like pulling teeth. Getting the first one was tough enough because he didn't know how to make them! The brunch menu gives you complimentary drinks so there should have been a bartender working. I am not blaming the poor waiter, but I think the Owner needs to have more than 1 person working a shift. The food was very good, so we will try it again.
