While we offer a variety of traditional Spanish tapas, we also offer a wide variety of innovative dishes which incorporate Italian, Greek, Cuban, Asian, and American styles into made-from-scratch dishes you will never find anywhere else. In addition to Meat, Seafood, and Vegetarian options available for every visitor, our Chef is also able to deftly assist with any dietary needs or restrictions you may have.
Saffron has plenty of free parking located in the rear and we are happy to accept orders for take-out.
We really liked the restaurant, the food was exceptional. The server was very attentive and interactive. I cannot list everything we ordered, we ordered so much! Everything that came out was fresh and tasted great.
Slightly lower marks for a couple reasons, more attention needs to focussed on clean dishes, glassware and silverware. The cloth napkins were pretty worn.
We would go back if in this area and I would recommend the restaruant.
Love the food, love the staff. Everyone’s so welcoming and nice. Had a great time every time I go
Had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and very filling. Will definitely return. ❤️
Looking for tapas and found this place on Groupon. Jennifer our waitress was wonderful. She had great suggestions and accommodated my husband’s food restrictions. Lollipop steak and shrimp, garlic shrimp, short ribs the best.
I love this place ,the staff is well trained, the ambiance is great very relaxed and welcoming, the food is great good quality, good prices and the best part is that the chef take time to change the menu so doesn’t become boring is one of my favorite restaurant since their opening.
I happened upon this restaurant while researching places to eat before sending off family on a red-eye flight out of JFK. There are not many pre-security dining options at the airport (since I was not traveling, I could not go past security), I looked up a place to eat nearby. This was a little gem of a find - Close enough to the airpot by Uber (13 minutes), and yet far away from the hustle and bustle of JFK. The food was very good, featuring tapas style dishes, but with generous proportions for two people with a small to medium appetite. The steak cubes on skewers were tender, and the scallops were seared to perfection. Above all, the service was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our meal here before sending family off on a long flight!
The food wasn’t what I expected. Had a weird taste. Sangria was the best part.
This tapas place is really good. The food and cocktails are top notch. The wait staff is wonderful. Not only do they do a great job but they are also witty, engaging and attractive. To put up with our special requests and playful humor is not an easy task and they came through with flying colors!! If you haven't eaten at a tapas style restaurant then be aware that the bill could get steep and this was the case with our visit. Ultimately the experience was superb so it was well worth it.
Terrific time and amazing food! My group of 8 really enjoyed themselves and the waitress was terrific! Would definitely go again.
As always great food and drinks and excellent service.
Great creative tapas! Nice happy hour options too (at the bar). Cons:Sangria too sweet and not really strong.
Service, food and atmosphere were wonderful . A great time was had by all.
The food was tasty and our waiter advised us well. Service was good and the place comfortable. A problem with the coffee and hot water maker made dessert disappointing. We would go back another time.
As always, food is great although the ropa vieja tacos were missing something.
The reservation was easy and fast, loved it. The service and food was wonderful.
I used to adore this restaurant but now am completely disappointed. The food was bland and the presentation unimaginative. The servers were pleasant enough but lacked any measurable personality sparks. The dishes were delivered as though full courses instead of groupings, as one would expect in a tapas restaurant. Many key ingredients were out of stock and no acceptable replacements offered. Sangria was like cool aid; easily too much sugar and no nose. The room was loud with young children. It felt more like family style than fine dining. Don't go here.
Love the food!!! The staff is also so nice and accommodating.
Food was great but way overpriced. Would not recommend going to the restaurant. Had the seafood paella. The clams and mussels were tender and tasty the calamari and scallops were rubbery
The kebab meal was not all that great, it was more of an appetizer than a meal. The saffron salad was really great! The steak an potatoes was good tasting but not filing. The best part of the meal was the dessert, the flan, that completed the meal, it was great and tasted delicious. I would visit again and try a different dish.
Food was delicious, however it was extremely cold so dressing warm is a must
Awesome food and service!
Great food, great service.
There was a large party of 28 women in the back of the restaurant and the noise level was off the charts. These were adults but they were yelling and squealing like children. We were seated as far away as possible but my ears were ringing and there was no wAy to have any kind of conversation. It made the whole experience very unpleasant.
We ordered the prix fixe which is a good deal. Apparently too good because it is only offered if you know to ask for it which to me is not a good way to treat your customers. We enjoyed our appetizers very much. The paella Valencia main course was okay but I would have preferred less calamari and more chicken and chorizo. The pieces of meat were kind of skimpy. Also we got no bread. Maybe the wAitress forgot but if thatS a feature of the prix fixe that is just tacky.
I have enjoyed all four times I have eaten at saffron.
Great ambiance and service. Food was very tasty and worth the price. Would definitely go again
Saffron always delights. Food is excellent. Waitress was superb.
If you are looking for Spanish food then pass on this place.
If you are looking for good food then pass on this place.
If you are looking for even halfway decent service then pass on this place.
Not so good food, crapy service, meals take an hour to come out, expensive.
Saffron is always outstanding. Chef Duarte puts his heart into every dish. I’ve been here numerous times, and I have never been disappointed. My favorites dishes are the rice balls and paella. The service is friendly and excellent. I highly recommend it.
Was just looking for a different venue to take my mom out for dinner in Howard Beach and came across a Neighborhood Gem.
Great and different menu with delicious tapas!
Great Variety! Great Savory taste!
Was our first time but certainly not our last!
Nice restaurant for an evening out
Amazing service as usual and my friends enjoyed every entree. Usual date night spot but my friends wanted to try something different and I suggested we go here. They were pleasantly surprised.
Nice experience. Great food, great service!
Excellent service and great tapas.
Instead of spending 5 hours at JFK, went here with our children for lunch. Worked perfectly. Only 10 minutes car ride.
Excellent service. Place was nearly empty at lunchtime. Food was pricey. Risotto overdone. Stuffed shrimp lacked flavor
Food was amazing.
Food is good, and the price is reasonable. Music is a bit loud. After asking the staff to turn the music down a little bit, it was still a little too much. Location is very convient to JFK. Neighborhood is just ok. No water view. Parking is easy, back of the restaurant.
Great local spot. Food is delcious!
This was our second time at the restaurant and I must say they did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the service very good. Will be visiting again in the near future.
