Saffron Indian Cuisine Orlando Ratings and Reviews
Once again, Saffron was great; although we made a reservation, they seated when we arrived.
timing of meal was great... i.e. not the appetizer coming at the same time as main course. Dishes were prepared as ordered... but i will warn the hot is REALLY hot...Great value- we took home enough for another meal.
and this is worth the drive- it takes us 30-45 minutes each way but we are always glad we did the drive
Our evening at Saffron was excellent! The meal really exceeded our expectations and we were very surprised that Saffron is a restaurant chain. The food is very fresh and the restaurant was very clean. Prices reasonable. If you are looking for a dining experience, Saffron is the place to go to!
The food at Saffron was good, but the ambiance and service were not. Normally, the wait staff is good, but our waiter was terrible; he seemed to have other things to do vs. caring about us. On a Friday night, it's like a zoo, noisy and crowded. Don't try to go if you don't have a red. If you do and go, you can't carry on a convo cuz it's too loud. We used to really like this place, but it's popularity is too much for us.
The food was OK-ish. Asked for the food to be pretty spicy and it came out with no spice. I asked for hot sauce later in the meal, which the waiter brought and said, "Oh, I thought you couldn't handle it so I didn't order it spicy." Seriously?
The Palak Paneer was tasteless and had so much tumeric in it the sauce felt grainy. The chicken makhani was pretty good but the prevalent taste was tomato. Same thing for our appetizer...this actually felt like they rolled the chicken in tomato paste. There was none of the flavor development that you expect in Indian cusine. Super disappointing. Don't go here if you want good Indian food.
Some of the best Indian food I have eaten in North America. We've lived in the US 15 years but originally come from the UK where there are more Indian restaurants than any other type and the cuisine is very popular. Our meal was one of the best Indian meals I have had in a very long time, and reminded me of home.
This is really the best Indian Restaurant Ivy Ln., Orlando comparing it to our Indian restaurant in West Palm Beach this one is even better. Very authentic very good spices the Briani is very delicious especially the lamb Briani. Great wine selection and great Indian beer vibrant seen always full full of energy very good diverse menu with something for everyone. The madras is awesome no matter what meet you choose with it and the appetizers are very good. . Good presentation on their food and friendly staff reservations recommended on weekends as of Thursday's.
We used to eat here a lot but due to the price of eating in and having young children, we have only been getting take out over the last couple of years.
This experience was pretty bad. We were completely rushed through our meal, the biryani which is normally pieces of chicken breast was meat on the bone but was not flavored. The server was attentive but unable to judge the occasion and how we were not in a rush.
I dont think we'll eat here again coupled with the fact you feel like just another tourist as they offer no interaction on a personal level even though we have been before. A shame because the food has been generally very good as a whole.
