On my second visit to San Francisco we stopped by this restaurant and l have to say l was surprised with the quality and flavor of the food, modern and comfortable atmosphere and a cohesive staff, there is a share plate options. Lots of flavors in all directions, Try to book one of their tables that sees the entire kitchen, wine list not a big one but again good quality, go there, eat there, drink there, all the things. Cheers!

My second time in a month in here.
Such a nice place, friendly staff, love the different dips and spreads, the trio appetizer plate is great to share for a starter, their falafel is gluten free, I had the low Carb BBQ lamb on top of salad and some crumbled Feta cheese, it was amazing, you don’t feel heavy after, the right amount for me, my friend went for the Prawn Brochettes over saffron rice and salads, I don’t eat shell fish but when prawn entree came to the table it smelled amazing, to finish the meal we had pistachio baklava and walnut baklava both are good. thank you Elena for the lovely treat.

Best hummus I've ever had. Met a friend for lunch last week and it was amazing. The food was wonderful (she had falafel and I had salmon.) Everything was delicious. And the people who own or run the place were lovely. We had such a great lunch on a kind of slow day for them. Will go back just for that hummus!

Exceptionally good food and good service, the place is definitely one my favorite for a healthy choice around. The small maze’s are unique, shareable, and delicious with a selection of good wine, dips and spreads are the way to go for a start, the dressing on the salad was delicious, the Zaater Manaesh plate with the French Feta cheese is great with the toasted pita chips on top of the salad. Service could be slow if they are busy but if you get over the usual wait you're in for a treat.

The kebab entrees come with two brochets and the grilled wild Salmon is a big plate. Both were amazing though I preferred the Beef steak, so savory and delicious. My date loved the more traditional shaved shawerma.
The place reminds me with those fancy Mediterranean in Europe, the interior, the music. Looks smaller place from the front but opens up in the back, quality is far superior. The staff use great ingredients. I’ll be sure to stop back in more often. Our waitress was very polite and helpful, and I enjoyed speaking with our food makers. For your cheque, they used an Ottaman tumbler nicely decorated with golden hand writing on it for the bill.
I really enjoyed the simplicity and whimsy of this choice. The place not much to look up from the outside, but this is truly one of the best I’ve had in the USA.

Trendy but friendly, the menu is spacious, many small appetizer dips and spreads all we tried are solid, expect to wait if you are in for lunch, but worth waiting, l was in love with the pomegranate walnuts spread, my friend fell for the organic beets with walnuts and Greek yogurt dip, we both liked the wild grilled Salmon, all in all we enjoy the food & the vibe. Thanks to Aidana for her hospitality :)

Outstanding, high quality Turkish Mediterranean fare. The aesthetics, flavor, and attention to detail are all obvious . Every main dish I've tried has been a hit. Things not to miss: roasted red bell eggplant soup , dips and spreads, wild salmon, lentil cracked wheat (which is to die for). Also a squeezed mint lemonade absolutely unique.

We were celebrating a friend's Birthday. Great ambiance. Great friendly service. They have low Ottoman silk cushions in the back, but the place is NOT for ids Delicious food and wine. The wine list is small but they have a very good wine.
I had reservation. We were seated near by the kitchen. We shared different meals from the menu. The food was absolutely delicious. Barbecued prawns & lamb were perfect!! Plates are made to be shared. Beef steak was great. Noticed at least 2 other tables ordering the same, as well.
All in all great dining experience.

Unassuming great little Turkish place with a nice vibe, the spot was very homey and loved.
Very tasty & super fresh, that is what l care about first in a restaurant, the BBQ Prawns were made right in front of you, it was delicious, to finish the meal we had Konafa and honey nougat with pistachio and the server brought us as well house made Turkish delight with strawberries flavor,. All of these items were smooth, scrumptious and satisfying.
We wll definitely come back here in the near future.

I have a love story with this place, it is the real McCoy, what stands out at this venue the freshness of the ingredients used topped with spotless hospitable service.
Unique appetizers, we had pomegranate pepper dip, Moroccan carrot & the walnut beet dip, these were a favorite, for entrtées we had the grilled salmon plate & the prawn plate & Nimbus Sauvignon blanc Viña Casablanca , great match, everything was fantastic, prices pretty moderate for San Francisco, if you are coming for lunch expect some delay as they get busy with all lunch crowd.

The BEST. Absolute best Turkish / Mediterranean food in SF, period end of story. My partner and I drive all the way from Ocean Beach (30 min drive) to devour all the delicious, fresh, organic eats. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but my favorites include the Salmon (wild caught) fillet plate, the Shawerma plate/wrap, the Manaesh Za'atar plate, the and ALL the salads especially. So so fresh and delicious. The deserts, Turkish coffee, mint lemonade & Moroccan tea are also a MUST have. I could go on and on about this place, so do yourself a favor and check it out! Cheers!

A lovely cute place, the dips stand out here, as I am a vegetarian this place tops for a vegetarian vegan options, had the gluten free Latkes and the appetizer trio meza entree which has: Moroccan carrot dip, organic beet root & pomegranate red pepper walnut dip, just excellent, service was fast & waitress was friendly enough and patient answering all questions, if you are not an alcohol drinker like me then try the freshly brewed mint lemonade.

If you are into a healthy meal or you prefer quality ingredients this is the place, it should be top on your list, no fuss, casual, seems to me a family owned as staff  laid back, joke with you without putting an act or being robotic, which you don't find in a chain places.

They offer many delicious appetizers, the walnut beet dip and the pomegranate red pepper dip are both awesome, l would suggest ordering kind of tapas, different little plate so you get a chance to try as many apps as possible, don't miss on their fresh juices, the housemate mint lemonade or the pomegranate spritzer, the latter is my favorite.

Food was terrific. Restaurant was staffed by only one person. For all duties. Someone on the waitstaff other than the cook would be a good idea. Also, most focus seemed to be on delivery orders and not on our table of live humans. That was a little disappointing. Falafel and lamb were amazing so I'll happily return and see if it was just an off night. For now, I would recommend this place only for to go or delivery.

Nice Turkish place, I came here on an advice friend who said that  it is one of her favorite restaurant in San Francisco. We were still pleasantly surprised by the relaxed, informal tone of the decor and the staff.
There is nothing fussy or stiff here.
Food was original full of favor, there is a Moroccan accent to many of the dishes, in the spicing if not in the ingredients.

The service was perfect for my taste, attentive, friendly, comfortable, and exquisite, many dips and spreads, beets crunchy walnut & pomegranate walnut red pepper dips are both top notch.
Server I believe Elena, she was patient with us she explained a lot about the food and made recommendations, but would leave us alone to enjoy the whole experience. Perfect.

What a treat! I took a group for lunch here after a volunteer event and we had a blast. The food was very fresh, delicately spiced with generous servings, you could tell they use good ingredients, the menu suited a broad range of taste preferences, dietary styles. The service was quite quick. The wait staff were friendly and helpful - one of our group had a disability that needed special accommodation that was graciously taken care of without asking. There were cushy pillows on the end lining the wall, , music add to the ambience. We had such a good time that we sat and chatted after the meal without feeling hustled to leave. Definitely worthy of many repeat visits. My only regret was not sampling the desserts.

I will rated one of the best mediterranean Turkish in the bay area even it is in an odd location, they bake the Zaater bread and desserts in the house, wide menu with variety of dishes and side dishes, unique place they care about details, normal tables and low ottoman tables with floor silk pillows and sappy baklavas.
At Saffron, even the coffee cups are real, Now that's a treat!
It is a must to try this place.

We enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere very much. Very true to its tradition and quite cozy.
The handmade Zaaater bread was fresh within minutes from the oven. Made right in front of your eyes. The baklava was just amazing, you choose from 2 types, both light and crusty, and just the right amount of sweetness. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Some of the best ethnic food can be found in the San Francisco and Saffron 685 ranks ,in my book, as one of the best places for Turkish Mediterranean food in all of San Francisco bay area.

The BBQ organic beef are hot flaky and mouthwatering, entree is big enough to split two ways. I tend to stick with Kebab, which is a spiced lamb kebab with saffron rice and salad, but I haven't had anything I didn't like. Turkish coffee and sweet syrupy flaky baklava always end my meal.

This restaurant is an authentic Turkish gourmet. Food and service is spot on. Wait staff was attentive, food was very good, super fresh with good ingredients. I just thought it was more on the pricey side, but it is SOMA and that's San Francisco, so maybe it's not... It's tucked in between stores in a strip mall type of building, easy to miss... but worth a try. Good food, good service... If you're in the mood, try it.

This is one of the more authentic Turkish restaurants in SOMA.  It features a wide assortment of Turkish Mediterranean dips and mazes including not limited red pepper pome dip with walnuts, spicy green pepper dip and organic beet walnut dip, the latter is my favorite.

The soup is the perfect dish for a chill winter night. My first choice will be the roasted red bell w/ grilled eggplant because it is like two meals to me.  When it arrives to the table to slowly enjoy.

The grilled wild Salmon and Manaesh Zaater plates are one of the best I've ever had.

parking is bad due to all tech companies in the area, however I noticed most restaurants near by don't get busy for dinner! I don't mind as long as the food that good.

The kebabs are tender juicy and the different vegetarian dishes excel at this reasonably mid priced,

Serving Mediterranean tasty mazes with many gluten free varieties such as pancakes "latkes" crispy on the out side, well cooked on the inside, my favorite way to have latkes.

The falafel also gluten free & served with tahini paste, as someone below said if you are sauce holic this is the place, they also have larger plates with different varieties served in slick south of market Potrero digs; service is generally attentive and the atmosphere pleasant.
special thanks to Vika.

Excellent food, great service. order the Moroccan mint tea! Hot yet refreshing. Service was very friendly, and they were more than happy to make a substitution for my friend (extra veggies instead of rice with her entree). Hummus was fantastic. I was a little thrown by their falafel sandwich preparation (smushed & grilled in flatbread like a panini) as I'm used to the Israeli stuffed-pita style, but the flavours were great. Would definitely dine here again next time I'm in town.
