They were out of many items that were supposed to come with meal due to the fact today was last day open. Server never warned us and when we asked we just were told they were out. It wasn’t until manager overheard us that he came over and explained the situation. Decent food and decent service. They were short staffed overall and waited for a long time for drinks.

Didn’t have the food from the menu, sauce for stake and beer we ordered. Had a good previous experience and decide to celebrate a birthday there and when ordering from the menu they were out meat or sauces and beer. Waited on service for a long time.

Literally 5 minutes before going into our reservations were informed that the restaurant ran out of food due to closing in 2 days. We were unable to eat which was upsetting because we called about 10 minutes prior and no one informed our party of this information.

Chicken sandwich was dry. Short staffed due to the holiday, but our server did a wonderful job letting us know why our food and drinks took so long. Had a wonderful conversation with the server as well. I heard place is closing, hopefully they will bring another cool restaurant.

It was overall good. Our steak was great but everyone at the table ordered medium and my friends was well done. She is too shy to send it back so that was bad and the sides (and shrimp) were cold. Basically the Ribeye and the biscuits with butter were great. I have had better value and food at other city walk restaurants, but not the worst.

Came for Christmas family dinner with kiddos. Ordered 3 meat dinner and sides. Amazing plate for hearty eating husband and 9 month pregnant wife to share. Took dessert too go and was amazing. Service a bit slow but waitress made up for it by giving kids a ton of cotton candy to go!

Overall it was not bad, however, due to it being a holiday they were short staffed. We were a large party and they missed one of our meals, which they did comp. Some of our food came out cold. They do not offer all meals before noon.

Terrible experience! Used to be a good operations, but has jumped the shark (the Universal location where I ate is closing). Some examples of the bad experience...

1) Unable to seat us timely in an empty restaurant (short staffed)
2) Out of many menu items due to broken equipment
3) Food arrived cold
4) When I asked for ketchup, they gave me an empty bottle. I asked again and once again got an empty bottle. I think they stopped buying basic supplies as they have run out of money
5) when I complained, they only offered a 20% discount, and I had to escalate to get a better accommodation

Sad, used to be a decent place with decent food. Alas, that's gone for now.

Have been here before and have had decent service before but this time the service was horrible. I will never return here again. I would rather tip someone who appreciates your business and not someone who acts like your bothering them when you ask for a refill. We were seated 15 min before he took a drink order and it took 1 1/2 hours to get our food?

It wasn't my first time here and usually it's nice, but since this one is closing the experience wasn't all that good fue to the lack of staff, lack of food and that the bull operators left before the customers so the customers could not rode the bull

First of all, at Universal City Walk there are many dining options and our choice of Saddle Ranch was a thought out process based on menu. We reserved a day in advance. There were four kids in our party of eight that Range from 8 to 13. The kids menu was typical with things like chicken strips and pizza as options. When we arrived for our reservation we were greeted kindly and ushered to a table that was in an outdoor tented bar area. This is obviously a country western themed restaurant hence “Saddle Ranch”. It’s quite large with the restaurant having a fun interior decore that we only experienced on our way to the restroom. No one was seated inside the restaurant only in the bar. When it was time, we all ordered our meals and an appetizer platter of sliders. The server left and after a period of time he returned to inform us that the kids items weren’t available, they didn’t have them... they were out. OK, we will make the most of it and just order pizza off the regular menu for the kids and breakfast for lunch for one of them with pancakes. The server... “we don’t have ANY pizzas at this time... or pancakes.” Let me make it clear that this was obviously very difficult on the server, embarrassing. At this point I asked him to total our drink tab, we would be leaving. He asked us to bare with them they would work something out. After Some time had passed we just ordered adult meals for the kids. Remember those sliders we ordered at the beginning so the kids could get started? They never came! We felt for our server but to state this plainly, this restaurant feels tired. Something that was fun years ago but time passed by. The management is absent. And the only reason it is still in business is because it is at the entrance to a theme park. Universal Studios allowing this business to continue is a poor reflection on the experience you are trying to create for your patrons. They discounted our bill 20% and it was still over $200. We should expect more.

They did not have our reservation.
We waited an hour to have our meal served.
On the Open Table I mentioned birthday but since they did not have the list I brought up the birthday and nothing was done.

Told they were going out of business in 7 days. Didn't have pancakes or french toast because they weren't buying anything else and just using what they have. Breakfast was supposed to come with fresh rolls. Told the chef hasn't come in yet so there aren't any. Still charged the same amount for the breakfast even though parts of the items weren't available.

If you can't provide what is on your menu, discount the cost with a 5% off or something, to make up for the fact that you are going out of business.

We had reservations for 8:45pm and we had to wait much longer. Didn't realize it was just a bar atmosphere, and not a separate section to dine. Too noisy !! The food was great and so was the server, but the long wait time and the noisy atmosphere made us all regret going there.

Our team’s holiday celebration at Saddle Ranch Chop House was extremely disappointing. Had we known the restaurant was closing in two weeks we never would have chosen it for our team’s holiday party. The food was so/so, the service was poor, and the music was inappropriate and far too loud for lunchtime. Moreover, the restaurant was not offering all items on its menu. The experience was bad from the moment we walked into the restaurant. Had I been dining there for personal reasons, I would have left as soon as I arrived.

Food was good, but the cigarette smell during our entire meal ruined it. We were seated in the covered patio area. We smelled cigarette smoke throughout dinner and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. When we were leaving, I realized there was an outdoor area on the other side of the wall our table was against. Apparently it is a staff break area where they take their smoke breaks. I would never sit there again!

Some of the issues were slow service, the location apparently will not honor open table reservations made the day of, and they put everyone in the bar patio area and did not give us the option to sit inside. The food was good but did not come out very hot.

We made a reservation and called to let you know that we had 2 birthday girls with us. Erica told us that you guys did something special for birthdays. We were sat outside in the bar area which was not disclosed when We made the reservation. We would've preferred inside seating. We had a 2 month old baby with us and it was breezy and cold and I asked if the plastic curtain could be closed to keep out the wind and the server said no it is a fire exit and has to remain open. I made a comment to my wife that we should've gone to the ItaIian restaurant and a few seconds later the curtain was closed and the heaters were turned on. As the meal was coming to an end we asked the server about the birthday desert and she said you didn't do anything for birthdays. I told her what Erica said and she said Erica was wrong and that you guys are closing in a month so you don't do anything for birthdays. Ultimately she brought some ice cream with chocolate sauce but at that point wth the food being sub par we regretted our decision of choosing your restaurant. We will not be returning to any of your locations.

This restaurant gave me the worst experience of my life and on my birthday of all occasions. I had two cancellations, on a party of 15, and they would not seat me even though the restaurant was empty. I had reservations for 9:15p.m. and was not seated until 10:20p.m. My guest and I ordered and they did not bring out our food and it had been 45mins. A group of people who were seated and ordered after me, received there food before my party and others as well. I opted to leave after that. I observed the kitchen, as I waited an additional 20 minutes for them to locate my cake, and it was the nastiest I ever seen. I work in food services and they should have been cited for the disgusting conditions that I observed. The final straw was the bill, as I and my guest had a drink, different sizes, they tried to charge us the same price for the both when clearly I had a carafe type glass and she had a smaller version of the same drink. I was so upset that I did not even get to ride the bull, due to no one operating it while I was there. I arrived at 8:45p.m. and didn't leave until 11:30 p.m. and I left hungry. I do not recommend this location to anyone.

I had a great for my husband birthday party, the manager made it perfect for my husband birthday dinner, he made sure everything was perfect. Even though we had a rude host that was not friendly I felt he hated his job and should not work there .

Service was awful. The restaurant was empty, yet we were still forced to wait even though we had reservations. Everyone was rude and refused to sit us indoors due to staff shortage. Bread was cold and the food lackluster. Worst experience. Save yourself the time and money, hit ANY other restaurant in city walk.

Arrive for our 715 reservation and still waited 20 min and there was alot of tables open both inside and outside. While waiting for our table I played foosball with my kids and afyer the first goal the machine kept the ball, machine was also very dirty. Ask for a refund of the .75 cents I spent on game never received it. Service was very slow. Food was not worth the price paid. We came here for Thankgiving after having spent all day a Universal and not impressed .

This place could be amazing, but it is not. Open table you should know that this place is not honoring your reservations. We were told that we would have to wait even though we had a reservation made through Open Table. The place is huge, yet they only sat people in the bar area. Dining room was completely empty. The food was amazing I have to say. Presentation horrible. Too big of plates that show off the food poorly with no room left on the table. Service was too fast. We were not done with our appetizer when dinner was served.
Bad service staff and rude manager. Again food was great...everything else needs a re-do fast!

It was horrible!!!! It was very cold. Service was extremely slow. There was maybe 20 tables with people. This place is huge. Five of us got our food and when we were done our son finally got his food. No apology. Still charged us for his dinner.

TERRIBLE AND DISTURBING
Typically I give this place a 5 star and enjoy coming all the time, but today I give it a ZERO
We arrived to the restaurant and it’s empty but the hostess wanted to force us into a dark isolated portion of the restaurant that felt like a funeral house, when asked for a table in bar area next to people so I was told to wait 10 minutes by the rude hostess
Anyways after 20 minutes I gave and left while the hostess saying to wait another 5 minutes on top of the 20

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ANYMORE

We ended going to Hard Rock Cafe for superb service and food

It took over 30min to get a drink. We were told they only had one bar open with one bartender for the whole restaurant they had no barback so we didn't even get lemon for their drink that we ordered. Overall service was just very slow and I believe poor management was a lot of it. Waitress was great

I had reservations for my twins birthday and when we got there, there was no hostess anywhere, we had to go search for them. We find one person and he said he was it, that he was short on cooks, servers , etc and he was quite rude. We sat down and could see everyone that was there was still waiting for drinks and food do we decided not to start and had to find another place to eat. I was very upset because it was a Friday and they should have been fully staffed so it ruined my dinner plans with my kids. I will not go back.

Took us over an hour to get seated. There was almost no point in making a reservation. We had very limited time on our valet, and because of that, we were rushed to eat and didn’t even have time to get dessert. I had a great time overall, but waiting outside in the cold for an hour just to be seated even when I had a reservation was completely unacceptable.

Did not honor the time of my reservation.

Poor service, 2 people from my group of 14 didn't get food the waitress "misunderstood"

Several people food orders was not correct.

It took 2 hours for us to get our food. We waited a little over 25 minutes for the drinks we ordered.

I expressed my unhappiness to the manager and he was not accommodating and seemed not concerned or even apologetic. Will never go back. Not worth it.

Overall experience was good. Waiter Tony was awesome. Our waiter was very friendly and food and drinks were delivered promptly. Was annoyed at having to make a reservation at 4:45pm when there were plenty of seats available at 6pm. Then getting to the reservation and having to wait 45mins to get seated. Hosts were very confused and were very disorganized. They did not give us any updates and we had to ask every 10 mins or so to try to figure out what was going on. We had a party of 14, therefore had the reservation so that it would be helpful to the restaurant. I would suggest to make improvements with the information sharing or organization of the hosts in order to avoid extremely long wait times, especially for those who take the time to make a reservation and plan.
