Saddle Ranch Chop House - Sunset Ratings and Reviews
My sister had a small issue with the food but the staff was super great the Managers Ka-ron and Eric (hopefully I'm spelling it right sorry ) Gus our server had a lot to handle, but super personality along with Kate and the host who seated us is a gem. We will be returning soon!!!!
The food was alright. The music is really loud and you could not have a conversation with anyone else at your table. Everyone around had had a few more drinks then us and were bumping and grinding all around us. It was a great spot to people watch while enjoying an average meal.
Been coming here for over a decade, decent place the food, service and atmosphere is always consistent. Never had a bad server here for what saddle ranch is. They do need to get the heat lamp situation in order for outdoor dining in the winter though. Also my food was brought to me ice cold.
Service was horrible up until we complain and Wonderful Gustavo came to the rescue!! He really made up for the nonsense we had to deal with at first ..
I don’t understand we had A reservations !! Anyways this place is cute and I really like the drinks and atmosphere but Customer Servie is lacking greatly here.
Gustavo ,the server thank you!!!
The food was EXCELLENT! The service was slow and we waited at least 10-15 minutes before our drink order was taken. I ordered a skinny margarita and it took at least 15-20 minutes to get it. Neither the bar or restaurant were busy (I’d understand if the place was packed). The waiter did give our 5 year old daughter a large cotton candy.
Will definitely go again, but we’ll try a different location.
The only thing I didnt like was the wait with a reservation was too long we was a party of 20 we got there 9:30 r reservation time and didnt get seating til 11:15 some of r party ledt bc the wait was too long
And the drinks was watery for 22.00
Overall its a good place to have fun especially the bull but u have to pay 5.00 plus sign a waver
Hot spot in Hollywood! Very crowded and loud. If you come with a large party it will take forever to get your order in because they only give you one server and they will not split the bill.
Bottomless Bloody Mary's and mimosas in a variety of flavors is a great deal! Their food is delish as well!
Didn't really go for dinner, but just went for the warm cookie sundae. It was amazing! Cookie comes out warm in a skillet with ice cream and whip cream. Staff was very friendly. Plus they have a mechanical bull which was really entertaining watching people.
Unfortunately my Cajun burger wasn’t tasty. My husband said his ribs were dry. The fries and sweet potato fries where food. The dipping sauces were tasty. We drove an hour from home to come there and the food didn’t meet our expectations. It’s ok... sometimes it’s like that.
Had a reservation for 6 on New Years Eve. Had trouble with hostess stand. We requested patio seating where quieter, but they seated us in the main dining area, saying we had changed our mind — which we did not. So we waited a total of 1.5 hours past our reservation time to be seated. Another 15 mins before a server came to our table. And another 30 mins before our dinner arrived. Fun place with awesome bartenders, and food was good, just wish their hostess stand had it together.
Service - took several requests over 20 minutes to get silverware and napkins for the table. Not really attentive on refills or checking in.
Food - Two diners were served 1) Filet mignon was cold upon arrival and served with the wrong side order. The manager (not the server) stopped by to ask about the food and rush ordered a second one and comped that meal - 2) Combo of tri-tip and baby back ribs - the tri-tip was very fatty and room temperature cold the ribs were warm enough to enjoy and were tasty. The side of mashed potatoes was the only thing that was hot on the plate when served and the second side was also room temp cold. The appetizer of onion rings were well cooked and the sauces were tasty. At the bar the bartender was professional, quick, and mixed a good old fashioned. The noise level mid afternoon on Christmas was too loud for good conversation but it was a fun atmosphere. The parking lot was overwhelmed and didn't clear cars out of the street or the lot very well. Overall a very mediocre experience so i'm not sure i'd go back except for perhaps the bar.
We received the best service we have received in years! The staff was fun and friendly, diverse and helpful. Nearly everyone that passed our table stoped to check on us. Happy hour is awesome! Our bill was such a pleasant surprise, dare I say cheap? I will absolutely be returning, and with friends and family! How refreshing to get such perfect service. I also had my favorite Mac n cheese for my birthday and dessert on the house!
This place is amazing!! Service is great and Jeff, the manager, is perfect!
They go above and beyond for their customers and the scene is always a fun one.
I love this place because it's affordable, fun for groups and the food is unique!
Highly recommend it for any groups or just a fun night out.
Our favorite place to dine when we come to Los Angeles! We could easily have every meal here.
Love watching the bull riders. But don’t go so easy on the ladies, guys... reverse discrimination...
The food is to die for.
The manager is totally on top of it and every staff manner is friendly. ( great hiring policy, guys)
They really seem to care about the costumer.
Only criticism... a little volume control on the music for us old timers, please.
Restaurant was understaffed and available staff were indifferent. It took an hour just to order food, get a glass of water and a few drinks. Everything was sort of average. I understand it is somewhat of an iconic institution but really? The best thing is it easily accommodated our Party of 22 people.
Visiting from Australia and booking a few weeks in advance I expected a table better than one located next to the toilets. Our server paid us little attention and it was up to the bar staff and others to look after us. It was a fun place but our server left us cold.
Have you ever been at a restaurant with a group of good friends in which something disappointing happens almost immediately, but you want to put a good face on things rather than be the spoilsport who puts everyone in a bad frame of mind? I really didn't mind the tacky, touristy cowboy decor, because this is Hollywood after all. At least it had plenty of flatscreens, so we could watch the USC/UCLA game. The problem is this place is filled with smiling, friendly servers who don't know what they are doing. It's hard not to like them, so I blame the managers for not training them properly and setting higher expectations. Here's the litany of woes we endured: 1) at the bar, we discovered our bartender could only pour one drink at a time (John Taffert would scream), and their featured specialty whisky drink I ordered ended up being a fruity grenadine colored joke in a old milk bottle, 2) when our entrees were served to our party of ten, they came in waves of 2 or 3 at a time (?), the servers were confused as to who ordered what, and the final person's entree arrived 10 minutes late, 3) my filet mignon was cooked just right (medium rare), but the grilled vegetables were so drenched in garlic, I gave up on them and ate my slightly undercooked baked potato, 4) one of our friends ordered a pasta dish, which came on a large, thin, uninsulated aluminum platter that allowed all the pasta at the edges to go cold before it even arrived, and only the center of the pasta was warm (they cooked her a new plate, er platter), 5) worst yet, another of our friends bit into a PIECE OF METAL that was in his food. The manager was highly apologetic, and focused on the other end of the table where the greatest disappointments seemed to be. But once our plates were cleared, how did he choose to make it up to us? Sending a bunch of desserts to our table, including a massive pink tower of cotton candy (?!?), rather than comp some of our entrees. This felt like Chucky Cheese for grownups.
