Saddle Ranch Chop House - Orange
Great place for big group ! Big servings ! Family style a great place to eat after shopping ! Kids friendly casual , friendly service !
Perfect day with family. Food and portion sizes very generous. Our sever was the best.
A pleasantly surprising restaurant in a busy mall. Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. Great stopping point on a movie or shopping night. Have a drink, a bite to eat and have an enjoyable evening all in one spot. Parking is limited around the mall so beware that it takes patience.
Customer service after we sat at table was terrible. She kept forgetting about us, or food and drinks. Rachel the server seemed like she was high on something and bartender can't make good drinks. Steak has no flavor, Omg the vegetables was so dry like grass. I will absolutely will never step foot in this place or tell my family or friends
From beginning to the end service was horrible. We were there to celebrate my birthday. Server was new, sprite was flat, my daughters beer did not taste good, bill was incorrect, waiter said there was no chicken strips but yet we ordered appetizer plate n there was chicken strips. No happy birthday song nor free birthday scoop of dessert. I wish I went with my first choose and gone to Lucille’s for my special day . Thank you Saddle
20 co-workers during a work related conference in Orange. The food was very good and the quantities were enough that many of us commented we could have shared a meal. The huge pink towers of cotton candy was a fun way to end the evening. We were all in dress clothes so did not ride the bull, may be on our next visit. 😊
I ordered a salad but did not come till after my meal was served. I had to ask for my iced tea refill every time. Asked for more napkins, never saw our waitress , ended up asking another waiter for napkins, asked for the bill, never got it, ended up asking another waitress for our bill who ended up being the manager, explained to her what had happened that the whole night, she gave us our bill, waitress never came back with my debit card, once I saw her, I told her we were going to head outside to do our s'mores , she never brought me my card, I had to track her down to get my card.
Just a bad evening and to top it off, it was not even busy. I would not have complained if it was busy one bit.
We arrived earlier than our chosen time. The hosetess acknowledged us right away, and said she would try to sit us earlier than our reservation. Which she did. Our waitress did not come to take our drink order for like 10 minutes. Food was ordered and arrived promptly, even though it was a Friday evening. However, mashed potatoes had a smell and taste that they had gone bad. My sons burger was so way over well done. The rest of the food was meh. We did not get any silverware and had to stop the hostess to ask for cutlery because our waitress was non existent. We did not get any straws or napkins either, again we flagged down someone to get them. We asked for water multiple times with no avail. Overall not a good experience. The place is cool and has a good vibe. But our waitress made for a bad experience and food was not worth the price, except what my dad ordered which was a $35 steak and veggies. But for the price I would probably go for black angus next time.
Took about 20 minutes beyond our reservation to be seated, had to ask a different server to take our order after no one came by for another 20-30min. Food was OK, would have enjoyed it more if the service was more organized. Appreciated the birthday cotton candy.
freezing and windy inside and they would seat us in a more sheltered area as they were short staffed in that section
Not enough waitstaff and was super loud
I’m still bragging about the delicious dinner we had on Saturday night I highly recommend Sandle Ranch to anyone visiting the Orange area the service and food were great.
We will definitely visit again and recommend it to our family and friends
The main reason I wanted to celebrate my friends surprise party there were for the bottomless mimosas, she’s never had one before. Our server was nice but not very present. The restaurant was slow and it didn’t seem like he had other tables to tend to he was just no where to be found and wasn’t checking in with us to see if we needed anything, the few times we did see him he wouldn’t ring in our orders anyway. We were there almost 4 hours and I only had 3 mismosas because I assume he kept forgetting to order us more rounds. Our food was dropped off and he never checked to see if we needed any condiments or checked on us at all to ask how everything tasted. We never got more water refills during the entire time we stayed. Had the server been more attentive to our party we wouldn’t have stayed there as long as we did. I specifically told him I wanted to try every mimosa and I only got 3 out of the 6 or 7, based off our experience it’s not something I would recommend to someone else and that is purely service based because I enjoyed the food and the few mimosas I had.
We celebrated our duaghter’s 21st birthday and were treated so well! The host really worked hard to accommodate our request to not be in the noisiest part of the restaurant...I wish that I got his name because he was the best host ever. The waitress was also very attentive and made great suggestions. We all enjoyed our food. And our daughter and her friends loved the drinks, food, amd the tower of cotton candy. The girls got to ride the mechanical bull and sing karaoke. Just a fantastic night thanks to the great people working at Saddle Ranch.
Tony was an awesome server! Will definitely come back for more delicious drinks and food!
We were on a specific time schedule due to the 24 Hour Best Picture Showcase and we had a very limited time for dinner. We made reservations for 5pm and two of our party left a movie early to check in at the restaurant. We had prearranged with our group and got everyone's orders so that the two that went early could place the order before everyone arrived. We advised the host at 4:55pm that we were there and had time constraints. We were not seated until 5:10pm and at 5:20 NO ONE had been by our table to take our order, not even our drink order. We tried to get the attention of a server walking near our table and he ignored us. One of our party went to the host and requested a server. By 5:25pm, when no one had been to our table, we left. This was a disappointing experience since we have gone there in years past for the same event and have not had a problem.
My wife and I took our son out to dinner at Saddle Ranch while visiting him at Chapman University. We had a 5 pm reservation. First the restaurant is in the mall and the parking lot is packed and took us some time to find a spot. We arrived at 5:03, checked in and waited as we were put behind other people who did not have a reservation, but put their names in on the waiting list. It took almost 15 minutes to be seated and we accepted seating in the bar area. Service was a bit slow, appetizers and meal came at the same time so that was unfortunate. Our waiter was nice and apologized. The food came on massive metal plates and there was a lot of food. The portions are very large and usually this means may not taste great, but the food was quite good. We had plenty of leftovers for our son in college so that worked out. There is a mechanical bull in the restaurant, but no one was riding it, so we decided to pass on riding as well. Overall a good meal, just need to work on the service side of things. Good place to go if you have a big appetite and want a casual atmosphere. They have TV's playing sports and music videos.
The waitress was nice but kind of ditzy. She kept forgetting to bring our jalepeno cornbread (which we never did get) and took my friends meal away half way through it when he wasn’t done. She said “let me get rid of the evidence for ya” he’s not the type to complain and yes, he should have opened his mouth. However it still wasn’t cool. The food is usually good but everyone had the mashed potatoes and they were hard and bland, maybe it wasn’t a good night. I usually enjoy this place but our night wasn’t very fulfilling that day. We had a party of 4, ordered plenty of food and drinks. Next time I hope it’s better.
Amazing service and great atmosphere. Friendly service good food and drinks
It was awesome! Great waitress and great food!
Great food. Not expecting it to be more of a “cowboy bar” vs a restaurant. They have a mechanical bull. Food was good.
I was excited to try this restaurant because I liked the way it looked from the outside and the food on the menu looked appealing. I was with a party of 8 and our reservations were for 8pm. We were seated on time but it took forever to get service and then once we ordered, the food was not quick to come out. Our appetizer came out right away but the rest of the food took a long time to come out. I understand that we were a large group but our food did not come out close together. Two peoples came out then another 3 and the last 3 came out so it was already 8:50 by the time we all had our food. I had the Hollywood burger and it was delicious but my son and two others had the tri tip and it was dry. Needless to say, we were disappointed. Our waitress was very friendly and apologized for everything taking so long.
Hosted my birthday dinner here. Big, spacious, great food and service! Couldn’t ask for a better place to spend my day. Thank you 🙏
I made reservations for Valentine's Day, because I knew it would be a busy night. We arrived 40 minutes early and went to the bar until our table was ready. The bartender was super busy and had no personality. He seemed cranky, like he didn't want to be there. He had to go to the other bar to make the drinks we ordered because, he said, the manager didn't have enough alcohol to stock both bars. We were seated around 7:20pm. We knew what we wanted, so we ordered within 15 minutes. We didn't receive our food until around 9pm. Although I know Valentine's Day is a busy night, never would I have expected to wait 90 minutes for food. Our server, Jessica, was amazing, and made the night tolerable. She told us that they only had 3 chefs, instead of 5, because 2 wouldn't come in. The manager did comp us chips and guacamole, along with a round of drinks, due to the wait. Although it was appreciated, I don't know that we would go back there, with all the other choices available at The Block.
This was valentines day, so you go in expecting maybe 80% of normal service on that date. However we waited over an hour for our appetizers to arrive. We had reservations and they refused to gie us a normal table. We got the tall seats in the bar with a tiny round table. My wifes steak was so overcooked it inedible and was not paid for. Really a negative dining experience and a big mistake.
My server was cute and his name Started with an E, I wish I remembered. Definitely going back.
Very fun, until some drunk guys were getting to friendly. We asked them to leave us alone and they started making uncomfortable comments I finally got the manger over who said he would just keep an eye on them. Thank god my husband and his friend showed up. I wish management would have done something other then keep an eye on them. Other then that we had a good time.
Some of my girlfriends and I met up for dinner to catch up. Overall experience was ok. Service was good but slow and the food was good but seem to come out of the kitchen and different times.
Under staffed all around..... not enough waiters or bartenders! Drinks took forever to get. Food came out relatively in time but was underwhelming!! Not worthy he effort or frustration! Manager Didimy even come over an apologize. Go elsewhere!
Our waiter was not very nice. The customer service was awful. We had a large party and he couldn’t split the bills. We asked for bread and he never returned.
Loved the cotton candy on dessert menu! The music was a bit loud for visiting and ribs were over cooked but everything else was great! Server was attentive
Jessica was a great server. The drink's were great and the Food was even better!!
I've only ever been to this location once before, a few years ago. It was cool. I thought everything was great.
But, when I booked the reservation for tonight, I saw some other reviews about poor service, ambiance and noise, etc. I thought, "Oh no! Well, I guess we'll see."
From the moment we walked in, everyone was so pleasant. We were sat almost immediately, and didn't wait long for Alyssa, our server, to greet us and get our drink orders. She was very sweet and witty but not overly chatty. She was highly attentive without crowding us. The food was better than I expected and the portions were huge. We all sampled each others' dinners and all the food was amazing. It was an awesome experience for all 4 of us.
It's possible that the management monitors the reviews closely and makes the proper adjustments, or those people who left bad reviews were just too picky. But either way, I would totally recommend this place for casual dining.
Party of 6. Place not too busy. Drinks took 35 minutes, appetizers came first. No plates, no utensils. Food for half the party arrived, then another 25 minutes for the rest of the food. Several items incorrect. No one at SR seemed concerned about any of this. We were not offered the opportunity to order another round of drinks— presumably would take another 30 minutes for Coronas and a glass of wine. Horrendous service and the food just isn’t that good to start with.
Our waitress was amazing! So attentive and sweet. Always checking up on us and making sure our experience was perfect. It’s the first time we were there and now it won’t be the last. Our waitress was Alicia. Again, she was the best and we want to be at her table again!
Worst service ever. Will definitely not return
The burgers were over cooked to the point where the beef was extremely tough and burnt. Will not be returning.
The service was so very poor which was a shame because the food was not bad.
We came in for the first time to try the brunch. We were VERY disappointed. Initially. We paid $15.99 each for the bottomless mimosas and waited upwards of 20 minutes between each glass. Not cool. Heck we practically bought an entire bottle with what we paid. We were ready to leave and would have left a lousy review. That is until the manager Karen came over and asked us how our brunch was. Well we let her have it and she agreed that was unacceptable. Not only did she take both of our bottomless mimosas off the bill, she brought us our own bottle of champagne and OJ. She saved our experience here for sure.
