They cannot accommodate large parties. And I mean more than 2 checks. There were only 2 other tables of people and it took them 20 minutes to seat us and 40 minutes before we even had water. I had made my reservation online, too. Servers had A LOT of attitude and made it very clear they did not like our party of 16.
It was noisy, people riding the mechanical bull, but you should expect that. Didn't get a booth, despite the reservation, pushed off into the bar booths, where I was told I'd have to order all our meals through the bartender. They did get us a server, but I'd give this place a pass.
Met some friends there. Took advantage of the great Happy Hour to get an app & drinks before dinner. Food was good..
We dropped our kids off at a concert at the venue just next door and were looking forward to dinner with friends. Unfortunately, due to the volume of people that must frequent the restaurant on evenings where there is events at the Gila River arena, they limit the menu... and it is VERY limited to pretty much bar food. There was virtually nothing healthy to eat on the menu (eg a Salad) for one of the members of our party who is on dietary restrictions. He had looked online previously at the restaurant and were disappointed upon sitting down and discovering the limited choices. We opted to stay because of the crowds and the fact that it took nearly an hour to find a parking space. Beware and check in advance if there is an event at one of the adjacent venues.
Fun place where the food is just ok, ribs are a specialty and the dry rub version were overdone and very dry...nachos were huge and flavorful, would go again but all in all unremarkable.
The Service was GREAT, The Food was outstanding, only thing I didn't eat was the plate. The food was that good. We will go back for dinner sometime soon.
The food was just okay and very overpriced. It's garbage that the restaurant has a special price gouging event menu with higher prices than the already overpriced regular menu. It also has limited menu options on the event menu that do not include some of the lower priced menu items on their regular menu. The waitress was efficient. I probably will not return, but definitely would not go before a concert or event.
This place is fun because of the cotton candy ONLY...from the buttered noodles, to the crappy salad that you can substitute your side for (it's lettuce and shredded cheese and the worst blue chz dressing ever guys, let us substitute!) to the ribeyes which were so gross and grisley...it was UNBELIEVABLE how crappy the food was!!!! The cotton candy was awesome and cute any big...and out waitress was great!!!!!! She seemed to be taking care of many tables and still attended to us very well. If it wasn't for it being our daughters bday and her loving that cotton candy...i would have literally yelled at everyone there! SKIP THIS PLACE OR DEMAND BETTER FOR THE PRICE!!!!!!
I'm not a spicy fan . The tangy Barbecue sauce was too hot for me , made my face sweat, and the veggies and mashed potatoes had too much garlic . I do not know why anybody would drink ice tea without out sugar! Isn't it one of the main food groups? I know , I live in the wrong part of the country not to like hot and spicy foods. I do like the south west decor [which was what attracted us ] and the service was great.
In town for a baseball tournament went to this restaurant with a reservation through open table waited 10 minutes at the front door before anybody bothered to talk to us. Finally got sat and the service Was horrible food was marginal at best and prices were outrageous for what it is . Only cool thing was the four foot cotton candy .
First visit, and the absolute worst experience!! Had reservations, and they did not seat us timely. We had to get our tables together and clean them off ourselves. Wait staff was incompetent, as well as the Manager! The first waiter & waitress took half of our orders, missed 1/2 the drinks and never came back to take the rest of the orders! The Manager took the rest, including appetizers, 30 minutes later. Most of us had to go to the bar to get drinks. Food started arriving, no appetizers! During our entire visit, the Manager was called over, several times, and blew smoke! I had to ask him to look at me while talking! Nothing but excuses the entire time! I asked if they would appreciate this service if this was their family?!?! We should have left and gave our business to someone else! NEVER AGAIN
We were there for my daughters graduation party and the service we had was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends and will definitely be back.
Food was great! As well as the service. Prices are very expensive though. You get lots of food though. Get the cotton candy, it was awesome!
Disappointed with this experience. On-line menu looked great, however, there was an event at the Gila River Arena and therefore they used a limited EVENTS menu which took out most of the choices that attracted us. We had the Monster platter and the ribs were over cooked and dry. The classic burger was good but overall we didn't eat most of our food and after our show, we headed over to another spot nearby to eat.
Our food came out COLD not only once but twice!! We complained the first time and they took it back. Manager brought out the second plate, not knowing why, and the food literally felt like it was brought out from the fridge, dunked into some wing sauce and put on the plate. Not acceptable. Manager was 'nice enough' to remove the item from our bill and brought us a round of hot tequila.
It was hot, noise, and the food was not that good. I wouldn't not go there again.
The food was good and our server was doing her best but everthing took FOREVER! We arrived 10 minutes prior to the reservation time and were informed we had to wait for another party to leave. No big deal... But once we were seated it was 10 minutes until our drink order and then waiting for it to come out ( only 2 people got stuff from the bar) took a long time. We had been seated over an hour before our food came and some of the food was cold. We didn't send it back because we were starving. So not sure what was going on back of the house but they really need to get it together. It wasn't that busy either.
Went for Mother's Day brunch, it took about 20 mins for someone to come take our drink order and then about 30 mins for the food to come. It wasn't super busy, so this was surprising. We never received the biscuits that were supposed to come with our meal. Food was okay, but nothing great. Been to the City Walk Saddle ranch for brunch and it was great! Hopefully they were just a bit off their game...
The eggs were undercooked and then when remade had no seasoning at all. The children's pancakes stated silver dollar size and they were just as big as what the adults had. The mimosas were warm.
We had Easter Brunch here to fight the crowd and ridiculous prices at other places. It was just ok. We sat on the patio and the table was really dirty so we asked to have it wiped down.
Food was pretty good but a little over priced.
Horrible, horrible, horrible.
We were seated on a dirty table, asked them to wipe it, they didn't. They only had 3 meals available on their menu. Would never go there again. You shouldn't either!
Great ribs. Service was very good. Would go back again.
I am so happy that I finally ate at Saddle Ranch! The food was amazing and our server was very attentive and sweet! She kept the drinks coming and made sure we ordered dessert :-).
Was given a limited menu due to a special event going on at arena near this restaurant . I was not aware of that. So, this place was too crowded, loud and slow. Food was like bar food.
Won't go back
Let me just start off by saying that the food is great! Although, we went at a bad time. It was during the bikers event that was going on at the same time. (We had no idea.) Food took a lil under an hour to get to us. Our waiter was amazing tho. He kept our drinks coming and gave us a tray of chips and salsa to hold us down while we waited for our food. In the end, he even vouched us a cotton candy for the two little "antsy" girls who were with us. We love Saddleback Ranch and will definitely return. But in the future, I will make sure there isn't any activity going on to make us wait so long.
We were a party of 16. Our waiter was awesome. Very attentive. The atmosphere was great.
Our food was perfectly cooked and served in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend
Saddle Ranch Chop House at West gate.
We had a group of 4, everyone enjoyed their dishes. We stuck with the recommendation of beef and ribs - you don't go to a "Chop House" for seafood - and were very pleased. Staff was friendly, service was efficient without being obtrusive. We would (and will) return.
The food was overall very good but must say that with the restaurant not full and not real busy it did take a very long time to put our table order out and all we heard from our server was it would be out soon and we know he was not the issue. When guests come in with children they might try to put their food out abit sooner than the adults.
We had a very large group of people in our party and everything was perfect! Exceeded our expectations and we went back the next day for a wonderful brunch.
People watching, casual, possible vibrant bar scene but it was Monday night and only
5 tables had people out of about 50 tables.
I arrived first with an hour to kill before my family arrived. The sign outside (hanging on the
hostess podium said "Wait for hostess to seat you." So I waited outside in the heat. I waited for
the cashier to be available and walked in to see when the hostess would be back. She said she was the hostess. So I asked for a 5 person table and my guests wanted to see the bull riding.
There were tables for six clean and ready at the bull riding circle. I was not given any of those.
And I was not told that there was no bull riding on Mondays.
I was given my beverage in normal time. Then the waitress disappeared. Another waitress saw my drink and asked if someone else was helping me since that was her table. I said yes but I have not seen her and I want to order. The other waitress went and found my first waitress and I ordered a side of garlic potatoes for $6 or $7. They were delicious. I had to ask twice to have
the other 4 water glasses filled since my family was due any minute. There were filled before they arrived barely. Big tadoo lots of standing and hugs all around. Waitress noticed them
and got their drink orders. Everyone looked at the menu and found that only about 10 options
existed for actual dinners and quite pricey. Dad walked in after parking the car as far from the
restaurant as you can be. That is the only parking for FREE. The closest parking is $20 lot.
2nd closest was $15 lot and there is no valet parking.
Waited and waited and waited. Dad just walked 1 mile. No exaggeration. And we could not get
anyone's attention for a drink. Dad had to go up the cashier to get a waitress. Even though
we could see 4 of them huddled and talking. No manager came over to apologize. Dad said
we will pay for the drinks but we are leaving. Still no manager came over to see what was wrong . We went elsewhere.
If you are aware- heading into your outing- that this oversized, overdeveloped, over-neon-lit area of Glendale is built in a Vegas-wannabe style, then have at it. Before or after a sporting event, it may be palatable. But for an evening out with our 84-year-old grandpa, unbeknownst to us after reading the reviews that the area is a complete tourist trap – we were pretty stupefied to see the giant scale of everything, right here, rising out of the otherwise gorgeous desert scenery. The menu is straight out of a strip mall steakhouse, and the bucking bronco contest inside, along with the watery drinks, were a big disappointment. On the brighter side (!!!) the servers were all super-personable, and grandpa didn't mind the ribs.
Bad service, food okay location was great. If you want a good steak i would suggest you go elsewhere
Service was bad, biscuits hard as a rock, could not get muffins because they ran out,had to ask numerous times for silverware, food was luk warm, had to get our own ice from the bar because with refills they never gave us any. Awful way to celebrate my birthday!
Great food with great friend's
Service was poor. Very slow
Slowest service I have ever experienced. Twenty minutes to get a glass of water. Excuses are a game was at the arena don't fly either because we were there 20 minutes after the game started and hardly anybody was in the restaurant. When we entered, literally 8 servers were at the front desk chatting and didn't even notice people were coming in for seating. The food, ok but thats it for the price. Nice to give the kids cotton candy after the meal but other than that, no need to go back.
We did not actually eat there, although we had reservations. It was SO noisy, with music that was much too loud, that we would not have been able to converse. I can't comment on the food, as we didn't eat, but I could not submit a review without filling in all the blanks.
I've eaten here a few times in the past - the food is good, but on event nights ( at the Arena) the menu is limited, mostly likely to deal with the crowd overflow. Which seems fine, but even with a limited menu there is always a wait. A wait to get your order taken. A wait to have your order brought to you. A wait to get something brought that they forgot the first time. A wait to ever see your server again. A wait to get your check. A wait to get your change/card returned. I have been here in for lunch in the middle of the week when it's much less busy and still had to wait for all the previously mentioned. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and the prices are exactly what you would expect for a similar experience elsewhere. It is loud - and that is part of the fun, so if it isn't your scene move on - but if you are in a hurry and have someplace to go, even if you come earlier to give yourself more time (like we did) I'd advise waiting until you have a free night and nothing to do but hang out. It's a lot less stressful this way.
My husband and I had a Valentine's day dinner here for two years in a row. I am never disappointed. I specially liked the fact the chef came out to talk to us. And, since I am vegetarian, I like the veggie hamburger patties they have too. We recommend this place, hands down.
The service that night was sub standard relative to what they charge and the location. The wait staff have much metal sticking out of their faces. Friends hiring other friends I suppose.
