Absolutely horrible Birthday Brunch for a friend's Bday. Food was disgusting - cold, not cooked all the way and no flavor plus took over an hour to get it. Service is slow and they weren't that busy. Do not waste your time coming here for brunch.
It was my daughters 22nd birthday, making a reservation made no difference, we were seated in the worst booth in the location, music way to loud!this place use to have country music now it was loud 80’s music and it was horrible! 30 minutes to get chips and guacamole! After complaining to the waitress she got a Mgr, he brought out and said sorry this is on me, the presentation was horrible, the bowl was 1/2 full of guacamole, chips didn’t even cover the platter. The Mgr really wasn’t empathetic and just said sorry I didn’t believe him. Food was terrible and this point we knew that this was not going to get better! For a birthday celebration it was horrible, I will never go back and being in the customer service and food industry for over 35 years I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Great food but the service was very slow
Unfortunately my group of friends and I did not enjoy our experience at Sadddle Ranch - Costa Mesa. For how much staff and how not crowded the restaurant was, we received very poor service. We waited over an hour for our food and were not attended to very often considering it was Sunday brunch. We were seated on the patio and fully understand there were two large parties on the patio, but the manager only had one server helping the two parties and us, with each table having more than 15 people (we had 5) while inside was empty.
We talked to the manager and were trying to be very understanding, but the manager did not seem interested in any of our concerns. He offered to send out desserts to make up for cold food we waited an hour and 20 minutes for (we were a party of 5). The waiter, Michael was trying his best to help us, but seemed to have no support. We even asked for the manager to come out with the bill because even the promised desserts never made it out and according to our waiter the manager didn’t have time to speak with us again.
We appreciate the waiter’s effort, but see still very disappointed and will not be returning to this location.
There were four in our party and our food was brought one at a time. Who wants to eat alone when you are a party of four? We ordered sweet potato fries and regular fries. They were cold , nothing worse that cold greedy fries. Not going back
We had a reservation for 13 after 10 min we finally got a drink order, then no one came back to our table for an hour. Empty beer bottles and empty water glasses sat at our table for the entire 2 1/2 hours it took for us to get our food. The food was cold and the service and even the manager just didn't seem to care. What a shame. Hamburgers were like leather and the beef dip had about 3 pieces of meat that was like beef jerky. They were out of 4 of their side orders you choose from for your meal. They weren't even busy such a shame because the bull ridding was fun. They need to clean house and hire people who care about their customers.
The service was terrible. I had reservations at 11:15am, which I arrived on time for. They told me 10 minutes and didn’t seat us for a half hour after talking to the hostess twice. It took a half hour for them to bring us water. We had to go to the bar to get refills on water and drinks because our waitress was nowhere to be found. It took an hour for her to take our order. Then after talking to the manager twice, turns out they forgot our order. The manager never came to our table to make sure everything was fine. They sent shots of alcohol to our table that we did not want, charged us and then took it off the bill as our “compensation”. Really disappointed, I have been here before with no issues but I will not go back.
Had the worst experience here. Safe to say that we won't be coming back. The service was just purely awful. We waited about 25 minutes for a round of drinks and over an hour for food. The sad part was that they weren't even busy. I had to complain multiple times. We all had such a poor experience.
We love to come to your restaurant for birthday brunches. The bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s are always a big hit and my two little girls always look forward to the tall cotton candy cause they only get it once a year. We had these things in mind when we reserved our brunch for 8 this past Sunday. When we got in, part of our party had already been seated. We sat down and the server, we never received her name, but the receipt says Afrika, asked what we wanted to drink. We of course jumped on the bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s. She the said “well today, if your ordering those we are only doing the classic flavors. We won’t be doing any other flavors.” We were a little bummed, that’s what my husband wanted for his birthday, but it was a minor set back. We order the bottomless ones anyway. My friend asked if she could just order a mimosa, not bottomless, with any other kind of juice, orange juice gives her heartburn and the girl snapped and said “No!” No explanation. We just thought maybe she was having a rough morning. Throughout the meal she would walk up, smileless, no energy, and very bluntly ask if we needed anything. Then I started noticing at the bar, sets of mimosas, 6, 7, 8 at a time being made. ALL FLAVORS. I’m trying to understand a reason that other were able to order these but we were not, I keep telling my husband here must be a reason. Well -Lastly, she walked up and asked if we were thinking about desserts. My friend sitting closest to her said “yes, the girls were thinking of getting dessert!” The server then said “ok, but first for the bill- will you be splitting it? Cause we can only split it twice” We were all kind of taken aback and just said we wouldn’t bother her with splitting it, we’ll pay it on one card to make it easy. She turned and walked away! Brought back the bill, never said another word about dessert. So we lost the two things we were looking forward too and didn’t feel welcome at all at a place we loved.
Food was poorly prepared - Prime rib was overcooked and tasted old, like it was reheated [poorly]. BISCUITS were cold.
Service was slow and we had to ask for refills of water and tea. Our meals were cold but did not say anything due that we had already waited over 45 minutes for our meal
The food was amazing and the service was great. We will be coming back
I have eaten here SEVERAL times and the food is amazing! This last time my group chose to sit outside and I felt like our service lacked out there. I had to get up a few times to get someone to either get us refills, help a member of our group order his drink.... Things like that. We did not want to complain because we love this place. I definitely won't be sitting outside again though. It wasn't a great experience outside. Other than that part everything was perfect. The food was great, the drinks were even better and because we are regulars and a birthday was that time.... We got the amazing tall cotton candy! Yum!
While the food was pretty good, service was on the slow side. Most notable, the place needs a facelift. Feels a grungy. Bathroom needed attention—like soap!
Everything was good! It would have been Great.. if we didn’t have to wait 35 minutes to be seated Even though we had reservations, the hostess went to work the bull and forgot about us 😒.
We had a blast!!!!! It was my daughter’s 23rd Birthday, she had a really good time!!!
I could not have had a better experience visiting Saddle Ranch to celebrate my 21st birthday with a group of friends. The food was absolutely delicious and the different flavors of the bottomless mimosas were all wonderful. It was so kind for the manager to offer my group “chocolate cake” shots on the house... they were so smooth! I also loved finishing off our brunch with one of Saddle Ranch’s famed cotton candy towers. I am so happy I chose Saddle Ranch to celebrate my special day!
Poor bartender, poor first waiter, poor food, new waitress was great trying to save our night.
New Year with best friend
Service was less than stellar. Ordered bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys. Great deal if the wait staff comes by to get an order more than once every 10-15 minutes. Total waste of money. I ordered the BLT with avocado. The entire sandwich had 2 pieces of bacon! The "2" was not a mistake. One half had one piece and the other had one piece. I wanted to ask if this was correct, but would have had to wait another 10-15 minutes before I could ask and I was starving. So I ate it. Great sandwich if you like iceberg wedge salad.
Service was way too slow. We were there for one hour before our food came.
Took a long time to be seated even though we had a reservation. They were out of ribs, salmon and veggie patties. They let people smoke on the patio, which was gross. The only thing that kept this from being a completely unsatisfying experience was our waiter, who was awesome (though overworked as they were clearly understaffed). And the burgers were good.
The managers are awesome but you have to be ready for the environment there's nothing wrong with the people that run this place but the environment sometimes take a little getting used to
Not the Saddle Ranch I remember. They were out of kids burgers and Stella. Service was slow and the place was empty.
Service was awful, but the ambiance, food and happy hour deals were fab.
A great place for family get together, all adults. Food was excellent. Great great drinks! Fun casual place.
The poor server had too many large groups and not enough help. My order was completely messed up and it took them forever to correct it so that everyone else was done eating. And everyone was disassatified with their food in some way. Most of it came out room temp or just cold. We asked for a spoon to eat dessert and that took 10 minutes to arrive so the dessert melted. It was just a mess. I will not be returning.
We were very excited to try this restaurant. We had a reservation and quick seating by a lovely hostess. The waiter was pleasant, friendly and checked our water often. At 7 pm, they were not terribly busy but they were "out of biscuits"! It then took over 45 minutes for food to arrive, after having to ask what was the hold up. The chicken and rice dish was mediocre, the signature ribs had no flavor and were over cooked, and the strip steak that I ordered arrived as a ribeye, and the manager tried to convince me that it was a "strip steak". Their apology was 4 Hersey bars and cotton candy for the movie we were about to see. Seriously?? Not coming back, also not recommending this restaurant to anyone who wants good food.
Understaffed crew. The waiter was polite but took way too long with food/drinks.
The servers we had were wonderful. We got off to a chaotic start when our table wasn't ready on time.
Great food. The noise level was pretty loud, due to a Christmas party I believe.
The food was bad. My bacon sandwich had 2 pieces of bacon.
Creamed corn was mushy
Hamburger tasted terrible.
The server couldn’t pronounce Gorgonzola and didn’t know what it was, he gave us two free desserts but he was not a good server at all. We’ve been to the orange one several times and always had great food and service there.
There is an actual bull riding area and a gazillion TVs. It looks like a fun place to go with buddies for a night out.
This is a pretty wild place. It has a mechanical bull and a lively bar scene. What struck us the most was how friendly everyone was. It was amazing. The other thing that surprised us was how good the food was. The ribs were terrific and tender. The meat fell off the bone. The steak had a great rub on it and was very flavorful. The desserts are fun, especially the ones with cotton candy. We made this reservation blindly because we had to eat early due to an early theater performance. And we loved it. We would go back.
This was a family gathering of 13 people. Food was fair to poor, the service was the same. The place was very noisy with TV everywhere. It's more of a sports bar masquerading as a restaurant.
I typically do not write a review for restaurants; however, I have one major complaint. I had a party of 5 for my son-in-laws birthday and none of us smoke. There were 3 smokers at the table next to us and I asked them to stop, they didn't so our evening was cut short. There were other smokers in the area and my brother ended up going to the emergency room due to health conditions caused by smoke inhalation.
We've been there before and it's fine. This time , the service was horrible. We had a party of 8 for a birthday celebration. Our waiter forgot parts of order, brought food and for 10 minutes never brought us silverware. He made the evening frustrating instead of pleasurable. The only reason I didn't give it a one star is our bill came and our drinks and appetizers were reduced because of Happy hour which we weren't aware of. That was a nice surprise considering how everything else went.
Been here many times for brunch, nice outdoor patio & good value with bottomless mimosas & bloody mary's. Had poor service this last visit, not sure if it was the server or if the kitchen & bar were just backed up. Food took 45 min. from time of order & drinks seemed to take 10-15 min.
Disappointed in the service on this visit & hope it was just an anomaly.
Visited this location back in June and thought we would give it another try after the horrendous and slow service from our first visit we thought it would only improve.....unfortunately it hasn’t!!!!! The restaurant was quite and we sat outside and it took 10 minutes to see a waiter and then after getting our drink we didn’t see the waiter again for 20 minutes!!!! 90 minutes for a meal when it’s quite like that is ridiculous. The food is decent, however the service is as bad as you will see in the area so didn’t visit this location unless you have at least 90 minutes to spare. Very disappointing as this is a great location but will look at one of the other venues now as our spot to go 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
The staff went out of their way to make our special occasion extra special.
