Inspired by her flavorful travels, Candy DeBartolo set out to bring something different to North Tampa’s food scene: a dining destination where everything that happens around the table is considered sacred—a place where every detail matters. Together with her team of passionate experts, she opened Sacred Pepper to provide the community with new twists on classic favorites in an inviting atmosphere. Locally sourced ingredients and made-from-scratch pastas and sauces highlight a Contemporary American menu with dashes of Mediterranean flair. Cocktails are inspired by cultures from around the world as well as modern, traditional, and pre-prohibition tastes.

Hidden Gem! One of the best restaurants in Tampa area Hands Down!
One of Tampa's best! Great burger, great service.
Always amazing food and service! Best wine value of any restaurant in town.
We loved the food but we went on a Saturday night when they have live music and it was rather loud and hard to hear.
Food was great as was service but the volume in the room with the number of people talking was almost unbearable. My date had not met the couple we were having dinner with it we basically had to yell to be heard. Many other reviews say the same thing so the restaurant is well aware of this problem.
To say the ambiance was not up to fine dining is a fact!
Everything was good, beside the wine glass with lipstick on it that they gave me.
Great experience, food and service was excellent. Highly recommended
Excellent all the way around.
It was very good but Too loud I couldn’t hear my husband
We chose Sacred Pepper to celebrate our anniversary due to positive experience years ago under prior management. When we walked in, the romantic dining room, now a giant bar, was filled with unmercifully loud music and packed with obnoxiously loud shrieking party-hearty barflies. The new dining room, an incidental afterthought off to the side, offered no escape from the bar area in that the lack of acoustics (wooden ceiling with no sound-absorbing tiles) megaphoned the bar noise into the so-called dining area full-throttle. It was impossible to communicate and certainly not romantic !!
The seared scallops were delicious. Service was great as usual.
This restaurant offers superior service and good food; however the noise level in dining room emanating from the bar is TOO LOUD. For diners looking for a quiet evening, I suggest Tuesday, Wednesday, or Sunday. On the other days, the restaurant reminds me of a bar that serves good food. Very difficult to enjoy a table conversation with the music blaring.
The food and service was outstanding as always. The music was much louder than necessary...it made it difficult to converse...
A great place to catch up with friends.
It was quite a drive for us but well worth it. We had the appetizer special, Goat Cheese Fondue. It was delicious. My sister had the diver scallops on parsnip puree. I tried it and we both agreed it was fabulous. I had the Filet and Rotolo lobster and crab combo. It was delicious. I was glad I did the combo however because I think an entire entrée of the Rotolo would have been too rich. Great bread as well. The service was excellent and I loved the restaurant décor.
Wonderful and inviting setting.
Wonderful food and wonderful staff .
I would highly recommend this place.
Excellent service, good, and overall first time experience.
Ambiance & great food make for a nice evening. Kurt’s service made it a great evening!
Always nice. Would love for them to change up the Sacred Sunday menu!
This restaurant is a must. Everyone should visit at least once but I promise you will return to try another delicious entree.
The food was outstanding, it always is. Service was also perfect; not too intrusive but attentive. The timing of drinks, appetizers and dinner were also well done, it didn’t feel rushed but not slow either. That is difficult to do in a busy restaurant on a Saturday night. It was loud but we already knew it would be from past visits. We were in the side front room so while loud, it was still possible to carry on a conversation comfortably. The only slight downside was our table for 2 was very small but it didn’t detract from a very enjoyable evening.
This is definitely a place that will be at the top of our places to revisit when we are in the Tampa area. Sacred Pepper seems to have hit the right combination of excellent, well prepared food and very good management.
Our table for five was ready and waiting for us when we arrived (on time) and we were quickly greeted by a friendly waiter. We also watched as a large party--15 or more people were efficiently served near us. Well trained staff and attention to detail were apparent.
Our meals were very good, well prepared and enjoyed. The diver scallops and the chicken parmesan were pronounced as outstanding. The person whose meal consisted of shrimp cocktail and mashed potatoes concurred.
One small nit--I asked that my gin be served "very cold, up in a martini glass." The waiter brought the gin to the table, shook it in ice and served it over the rocks. Certainly a forgivable mistake as the atmosphere was "lively" because of the music and he probably misheard.
All in all, a very enjoyable dining experience.
Our server Gigi was fantastic! Our only complaint was the live music was too loud. Food was as always outstanding!
Food and service was phenomenal. We have already recommended it to our friends. We will definitely be back. We loved everything!
Everything would have been perfect, but the Restaurant was too cold. Even after we said something, nothing was done to make it more pleasant. It is difficult to enjoy leisurely dining wrapped in clothes/jackets and shivering. Based on the Restaurants response to our request to make it warmer, we assume they no longer want our business. So I could not recommend this restaurant.
We celebrated my daughters 21st birthday and had a marvelous time. I highly recommend the Goat Cheese Baklava. Yummy!
They are a favorite Sunday afternoon stop. Tried a wine on tap, the rose and it was pretty good, but not really chilled.
Although music in the bar is loud, the dining room was ok. Our server, Katie, was friendly and knowledgeable. Our 4 meals were delicious.
Food was good but pricey for the size of the portion. Music was a little too loud to have quiet converstation but the performer they had was talented. Overall a good time and VERY happy to not be at a chain restaurant. Tampa needs more restaurants like this.
Loved this restaurant! Took my husband for a surprise and he was so impressed. I will go here again!
The food is fantastic and the service from the wait staff is impeccable. The hostesses are generally rude and could care less. The noise level from the DJ at the bar area is unacceptably ear splitting loud. You cannot have a conversation at your dinner table and you will leave with a headache. Don't bother to ask to turn it down either as the hostess will stop just short of rolling her eyes at you before walking away and doing nothing. Our college age daughter stated she goes to clubs that aren't this loud. Not the ambiance you expect when you are spending this kind of money on dinner. Unfortunately we won't be back because of the noise.
restaurant was very nice, service was excellent, I got the chic ken parmesan, the sauce was very good, noodles were very good, but the chicken was tough. I would probably not go back again. the art work on the ceiling was beautiful.
I would always recommend sacred pepper for dinner but now I would definitely recommend it for New Years Eve too. It was fun and lively. Got seated very close to my reservation time, service was quick and attentive. Free champagne toast was an added surprise! Loved the live band. Might be back next New Year’s Eve!!
Outstanding !!!! Love love this place. Great food , exceptional food, drinks, and service .
What a great find. Looking for last-minute plans for New Year’s Eve and was able to book at 9:30 table; although it did take about a half hour to be seated it was so worth the wait. Excellent food excellent service live band great atmosphere wonderful value. Will be back!
