Inspired by her flavorful travels, Candy DeBartolo set out to bring something different to North Tampa’s food scene: a dining destination where everything that happens around the table is considered sacred—a place where every detail matters. Together with her team of passionate experts, she opened Sacred Pepper to provide the community with new twists on classic favorites in an inviting atmosphere. Locally sourced ingredients and made-from-scratch pastas and sauces highlight a Contemporary American menu with dashes of Mediterranean flair. Cocktails are inspired by cultures from around the world as well as modern, traditional, and pre-prohibition tastes.

We've been to Sacred Pepper many times and enjoy the food and atmosphere. However, on this one occasion we were seated in the alcove room off to the right side of the reception desk.
That room is too crammed. We were seated in a two person table jammed between a large and noisy party of perhaps 20-25 people on one side and several other tables on the other side. There was very minimal room along both aisles. There was no privacy, and we endured a constant run of servers and guests next to us moving up and down the room all during our stay.
The room is just too small and noisy for this arrangement. My wife and I had to shout most of the evening to have a conversation.
This room has a very large TV monitor that pretty much occupies most of the wall at the back. I agreed to face the TV but honestly, its too bright and distracting. No one was watching a meaningless baseball game anyway so I'm not sure why it wasn't turned off. Needless to say, it was difficult to focus on my wife with a baseball game going on behind her not to mention the noisy room.
Net net - this was not the enjoyable, quiet, mostly intimate setting we've been used to at Sacred Pepper.
Came by on a recommendation for a birthday celebration. Glad we did. Wonderful experience!
This was a very mixed experience at Sacred Pepper. It was our anniversary and I called ahead to ask for a nice table. We were stuck in the corner of their side room with the big screen TV and Sunday Night Football. We were asked during appetizers if we wanted bread - yes we did - however it didn't come out until well into our main course. The appetizers arrived very quickly and were very good. The second course came a good while later and was lukewarm. We purposely came on a Sunday to avoid the Saturday crush and expected a better experience. Might have been the second string playing on a Sunday!
Always an amazing experience with stellar food and a great vibe !
Highly recommended for couples on date night.
Great flavors, dishes, wine and palate selections. Repeat customer.
Unique cuisine is the star here. The baklava appetizer is a prime example. Delicious! The house salad, the lobster ravioli, the crusted halibut, and the chocolate cake are all superb. The atmosphere is a throwback to the rat pack era but with a modern twist. Highly recommend for a complete experience.
The decoration is pretty and the location excellent but TOO loud. It was almost impossible to carry a conversation. The no ice level could b compared with a sports bar. The food was good.
This restaurant was amazing the service was espectacular, the waitress would check up on us as much as she could and the food was just fenomenal I order the delmonico Hawaiian steak I think that’s what it’s called and it was the softest and best tasting steak over ever had
We chose Sacred Pepper for our family celebration for our anniversary. First, the restaurant is a beautiful venue and our table was a round booth, perfect for our family. When reviewing the menu we had concerns about our grandson who is allergic to eggs and peanuts. We asked our server for help and the chef came out to personally assist us. That has happened at a few other restaurants but not often. There were no items on the menu that would work but the chef agreed to make up some off menu food for our grandson. Awesome! Restaurants that show that kind of care and concern are high on my short list.
The rest of our party ordered some pastas which were perfect along with the Hawaiian steak, also very good. Overall, we enjoyed our meals and appreciated the excellent service from our server and the chef.
Second time, great atmosphere and the food is outstanding! Would like to see a couple different cuts of steak on the menu. Don't like fillet's and the only other alternative is a teriyaki ribeye. : (
Always love coming to this place, and ask for Charlie. He is very personable and funny.
A great restaurant with great customer service. Intimate enough for a romantic dinner, but having a community feel. Great music. Knowledgeable servers. Highly recommend.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday and our friend’s wedding anniversary, our waiter Charlie, was very accommodating and entertaining! The ambiance was great and the food was delicious. We will be back!
One of my favorite restaurants for dinner. Food is always delicious and the atmosphere is great. Love that there is always music in the bar area, too.
Please commend our Server for his Service Excellence provided during our recent visit. My husband and I brought our daughter & granddaughter, who were visiting us from out of town. Our dinners were delicious - paired with our nice big booth and the very personable staff - our dining experience was the best. Thank you very much for contributing to a special and enjoyable evening for ourselves and our guests. Mike & Linda
The experience was superb. Food ambience and service was excellent. They are Vegan friendly and the waitress was very knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. I got the Cauliflower Steak and she knew to offer a different sauce. We split the Apple Cobbler dessert 4 ways and no one went hungry.
Great as always!
Always a fabulous experience
The Scared Pepper is one of the best restaurant that I have eaten in a long time. From the moment we entered we received top notch service. The food was outstanding to include, the drink and wine list and dessert. I loved the decor and how it was busy and full of people, the noise level was great. In fact you could carry on a conversation and not have to talk loudly. The service was the best I have ever gotten and I would definitely recommend to family, friends and businesses. Thank you
It was our first time at Sacred Pepper and we had wonderful service and delicious food. Good portion sizes.
The experience was delighted, except from the server of that night. The individual seemed in a hurry and not listening in regard our order.
Food is always amazing. The service on the other hand left something to be desired. We went early yesterday as a happy birthday to my husband. While eating our soup and salad our entrees came out and they asked if we were done. It was very rushed yet when we were ready to pay and leave we couldn't find our server. The timing was VERY off. Also, I had made this a birthday reservation on Open Table and there was no mention at any time of the birthday. It was very disappointing. Won't be going back for a while.
The Sunday special is a great meal for two. Service and food quality excellent. Looking forward to going back.
My reservation was at 8:00pm and i was not seated until well after 8:30pm. I requested a table in the rear of the restaurant and not in the side room near the live music. So after having to wait, The table was in the side room near the music. While the music may be enjoyable for patrons at the bar, it is too loud for the near by dinner area.
Always quality food and wonderful service. The decor makes you feel like you are visiting a nice restaurant in a big metro city
Never a bad meal and always excellent service
Tony was great as a waiter he took his time to explain all the super items on the menu but the thing I liked most about him was he never pushed us to order - his suggestions on what to order were fantastic we can't wait to return and will ask for Tony of course!!
My favorite restaurant...great service, great menus, great food. Love the environment.
Very disappointed this time. Staff was very nice. Margarita was excellent, the filet looked and tasted like the kind you get on an airplane. Husband melted butter on top to get some flavor. My chicken was okay but the pasta was drowning in sauce and overcooked. The best was the bread, my salad and my birthday dessert. If I were to come back I would just get salad and bread.
Terribly loud bar music. Great food. Could not even have a conversation...at 7:15! I get later in the evening...but, at dinner?!?
So it was loud- we were in the dining room to the right when you come in. But it was festive and the live music was really good. I have to say I go to SP often- I really WANT to like the appetizers, and I have literally tried everything in the menu- they are all just mediocre. This time I ordered the goat cheese baklava for the table and - meh. But the Aloha Martinis more than made up for that. Delish! And I ordered the Hog Snapper special with spinach and crab- off the chain yumm-o-rama! Everyone enjoyed their dinners, my mom”s steak was wrong and the waiter was fabulous- he insisted to make it right and it was perfect on the 2nd go. It was her birthday dinner and he went out of his way to make her feel special. This is a restaurant that is eager to make sure you are satisfied and enjoying yourself. Winner!
The only downside to Sacred Pepper was the noise level, which was extremely loud! We were in the more private seating area and it was still intensely loud.
However, the food and drinks were absolutely delicious and well worth the value! Our service was fantastic also.
Loved it. The singer was my favorite part. Mallory Moyer!
Great food, wait staff, ambiance, music. Can't wait until our next visit. We went early (5:00) and the restaurant was empty. When we left it was packed. And, this was a Thursday night.
The bar and restaurant themselves are amazing. The service and the food are always top level and consistent.
Wonderful everything. Surprised by the service and the food. Definitely a destination restaurant.
Excellent all the way around.
Our server was fantastic! Food was good, and we were able to get a table in a quieter corner away from the live music.
