Service was great.
Jimmy Stadler continues to delight the crowd indoors at Sabroso on Wednesday evenings; the food is very good; and the service is as well
New Mexico filet was truly outstanding. One of the best ever. Wife had liver and onions, just ok. Service was terrible. 20 minutes to get ice tea, 30 minutes for bread and an hour for entrées. They set down party of six right before us and our waitress had them plus us and some other tables. She was maxed out but did the best she could. Most restaurants short staffed these days. Would return.
Restaurant severely under-staffed for the amount of reservations accepted and or number of walk-ins.
First time dining at Sabroso. We were seated in the lounge and after first being disappointed with the noisy setting decided to sit back and enjoy the guitarist/singer, Michael. Our BBQ plates (brisket and chicken respectively) were very good and plentiful. Sabroso appears to be a locals’ favorite; not hard to see why.
The food at Sabroso was as its name implies, delicious! My wife and I have always had great meals, and yesterday was no exception. Because it was a cold night, outdoor seating was not possible, so everyone was indoors and unfortunately the noise levels were very high.
Out of literally half the menu items early on a Saturday evening. Absolutely no evidence of dining floor management. Several minute wait at hostess stand. Stressed out server. Understaffed. Over/priced. I manage a luxury hotel so I understand the staffing and supply challenges in the hospitality industry, but this was just dreadful.
Fun and friendly patio dining with live music & great food.
Been going to Sabroso for 5 years and last night was a disappointment. Food and drinks are normally outstanding. The steak frites was not the usual. Tho the sauce was quite good. The vegetables were drenched in garlic. The fries were not fantastic as usual. Wedge salad was something one could get at a low scale diner. Martini was fair and my prickly pear was served in a water glass. It was bitter and the glass was half full. When I told the waitress I did not want the cocktail she was annoyed. Also the waitress took way to long to pick up our check and she was impatient and on edge. Made us feel so unwelcomed.
Maybe the regular cook was out that evening? May be the bartender was new? We will try again but not anytime soon.
We really were looking forward to enjoying this lovely setting and their Friday night music, which was great, by the way. But they were totally falling apart on the service. They were trying hard, but couldn't pull it together. The folks at the table next us never got their food and ended up leaving after getting drinks and waiting for 45 minutes for food. Apparently the order never made it to the kitchen.
They are trying hard, and they know they are not doing well. The food was nice enough. Don't go if you are pressed for time though.
Fantastic restaurant with huge outdoor patio and bar. Service was great food was delicious. It was a perfect night to dine outside. All the good around out table looked delicious too. We opted fir a salad and burger, but the filets at the table next to us looked delicious! What about that layered chocolate cake? Need you ask!
Amazing birthday dinner! Highly recommend and can’t wait to return.
Loved the outdoor patio! Great margarita, and loved the chicken pot pie! BBQ chicken so so. Fun to watch the locals!
We enjoyed an excellent dinner at Sabroso over the holiday weekend. The outdoor patio was refreshing and had a great atmosphere. Service was attentive and friendly. Our dinners were very well prepared and tasty. We highly recommend this as a must try when in Taos. While the restaurant is a little off the beaten path, it is well worth the effort to get the. It takes just 10 minutes to get there from the Taos Plaza area.
Best truffle fries I’ve ever had!
Delish! In a time of struggle and criticism our experience was amazing! Best of Taos in my book!
The service and the ambiance were very good to excellent. The shrimp and grits appetizer was quite good. We had ribs (certainly acceptable, but not great) and a Caesar salad with salmon (salmon was burned on one side and still had the skin on part of one side). The wait staff was quite good. And the live music was a huge plus. One issue we had was that the menu showed the salmon added to the Caesar as $10, and we were charged $14. We mentioned it to our waitress. She looked at the menu, and there is no indication of $14. She confirmed that it should be $14, but as it was not on the menu, she reduced the bill by $4. Not a huge deal, but hopefully they will correct their menu.
We visited for our anniversary. I had the crab cakes and a Caesar salad, hubby had duck wings and bison brisket with hatch Mac n cheese. Food was delicious. We had the hand squeezed margaritas also excellent. Great ambience and a very nice experience. Ate here in 2013 and it’s still a wonderful place!
Lovely setting, great food & service!
We are locals, I took my friend out for her birthday. We sat in the patio, everything was superb. We had a great waiter and the staff was very attentive. Oh, and the food was great!
Brisket was very dry and tough. Chicken was dry but tasty. Shrimp cocktail was excellent. Music live and loud. Service was knowledgeable and friendly.
Always go to Sabroso for our date night. Our dinning experience is always top notch. Beautiful ambience whether inside or outside seating, great cocktails, fabulous food. The cook is a big reason why we choose Sabroso.
Only minus is the water person stops at our table a bit toooo much. Other than that, lovely experience.
Sabroso has been an amazing restaurant for years. It’s still just as good today as the first time I went 13 years ago. Eat here!
Excellent location for a birthday or special event. We went here to celebrate my husbands birthday. The food was top notch, wonderful craft cocktails, beautiful grounds and really great live music. Such a gem of a place. We will be back for sure.
Family of 4adults on vacation enjoyed our meal. Drinks were outstanding, service very helpful. Duck wings were very tasty, ordered pot pie, bison burger, poke bowl and fish and chips. All food was well prepared but also a little under seasoned, helped by adding salt and/or hot sauce. Would definitely go back.
Great server and wonderful food
Sabroso music nights with Jim Stadler are super and well worth the midweek journey to Arroyo Secco
We will put in a black painted airless room with little ventilation. My margarita had very little tequila in it and the ribs I ordered were burned and tasteless.
Out of three items on the menu. Slow getting bread and drinks. Bread did not come until we were almost through with our salads. Sever was pleasant but service was slow.
The patio and garden are a wonderful place to enjoy the evening weather at the edge of the mountain. The food was good and the servings generous. Was disappointed they were out of 4 menu items and had no deserts. Had a good evening but would have preferred more options than the reduced menu offered.
We were prepared to understand the stresses all restaurants are facing coming out of the pandemic. But our experience at Sobroso was disappointing even given that "discount." We loved the ambience and our server was great but the food, not so much. They were out of many items (no crab cakes, no chicken pot pie, Caesar salad made with mixed greens, "no romaine"). Fish in fish and chips, overcooked. Ahi tuna in poke bowl a bit past its prime. All in all not a great dining experience...might be willing to give them a second chance sometime, though.
Summer evenings at Séco’s Sabrosa with live music on the veranda, good food, good drinks, fair prices—as good as it gets!
Taos’ little big secret…
We enjoyed a delightful meal with a blueberry glazed buffalo rib eye and shrimp and grits. Excellent food and attentive staff.
Have been there numerous times. This time the hostess was rude when we asked to be seated inside. The inside dining area was empty. The steak was tough and the chicken was undercooked and tough. The waiter was excellent and very professional. The wine "list" only carried 1 chardonnay. Strange for a so called good restaurant.
I love everything about Sabroso. The patio, live music, food and wine selection. They have a lot of great wines by the glass plus a full bar and a lot of creative cocktails. Sitting inside is lovely too. The service sincerely wants you to have a nice time and they will look after you. Very chill, not pretentious and a great spot for drinks or dinner.
Sitting on the patio listening to Jimmy Stadler is always a favorite!
Great food on the patio. Get Chili on the side and use it sparingly
Second trip to Sabroso since COVID-19 pandemic. Menu had changed since our earlier visit. Food was disappointing this second visit. They were out of the Tuna poke , my favorite dish on the menu, so I ordered the barbecue ribs. They were a little dry. My husband ordered the halibut special which he said was also dry. The house Margarita seemed watery as well. The setting is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting outside. Not rushing back.
Was a holiday weekend, servers was very busy. But we enjoyed. Our server was very caring.
6th visit. Not the same quality as previous visits. Maybe overwhelmed due to short staffing...
