Sabor Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time here. We decided to go with the family style meal.
The whole meal was amazing. I can't think of anything bad to say at all.
From start to finish it was outstanding.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting, good service, excellent wine & amazing food, to come here.
We went to this restaurant but had little time. The server was great and noted it; we were in and out in 45 mins like we requested and had time to eat 2 scrumptious dessert. We also had a wheat allergy and they accommodated! And to top it all off, my friend left her cell phone at the table and when we called it, the owner answered it and on his way to drop it off at the Red Arrow - for which my friend had to catch a bus - and he knew that because our waiter had asked us about our need for rushing. What amazing and thoughtful service. I mean who does that??? I loved this restaurant before but loved it even more with our rushed and particular requests and above and beyond service provided. Thank you Sabor!
A friend suggested this restaurant as I was looking for a place that was both vegan-friendly and keto-friendly (Polar dietary requirements) for Valentine's Day. I was really excited as we previewed the menu to see an entire vegetarian section.
I asked the server which options could be made vegan friendly and she seemed to immediately panic and didn't seem to know and went back to the kitchen to find out what could be done. She said there were only 2 options from the vegetarian menu that were viable (the risotto and paella) so I picked one. Neither were an option that I was hoping for so I'm not sure my satisfaction with that could have been improved.
I had emailed the company to ask about vegan options earlier in the day (this was on a Sunday so the response came on Monday) and was told that everything but 1 item (the risotto) on the menu could be made vegan which happened to be one of the two options the waitress said was vegan. This confuses me, I'd have loved to have one of the other dishes if I'd have thought it was an option.
My date ordered the Three Boars and asked for seasonal veggies and a ceasar salad and the server really tried to convince him that this was not a good idea. This was what he wanted given his own dietary restrictions. When she brought the platter out for him, it was two salads in a sweet sauce which did not meet his restrictions. We were very confused about why this happened but given how fussy the waitress was about her recommendations, we didn't bother asking for a change to be made.
I understand fussy eaters are a challenge for a kitchen but we chose a Sunday night so that it would be less busy in the hopes that our accommodations would cause less stress on the kitchen. Overall, we were pretty disappointed given the price for food, the lack of options given to us knowing now that there were more available, and not receiving what we ordered.
I do think it's a nice restaurant and a nice atmosphere but I'm not sure we'll be back.
We went to Sabor to celebrate my father's birthday. Great selecetion of seafood, which is why we chose it in the first place. Food came out quickly, and server was attentive. They gave my father a candle with his dessert without us asking which was very nice. Overall, a great meal and experience!
Night stated off not great as hostess was not very friendly upon greeting. Service was slow to start with to a point was about to leave. But once we got going it turned out to be a good experience. Service became what you would expect from a place like this. The timing of the food to our table was perfect not rushed between courses. Food was okay for this price point but nothing that made me go wow. That being said I will go back and dine there again.
First time to Sabor on game night. What a Treat! Booked a week ahead, had great service, food and overall experience. Party of 4 with 4 different meals and all were fully satisfied. It will be a regular spot before games for me. Even with construction, it is a short walk to Ford Hall from the restaurant.
I love the decor and set up of this place the appetizers are delicious. The main entre could be shared. Huge servings. Delicious sauces and dips for French fries. The piri piri chicken is my absolute favourite. The flaming chorizo is not only fun but delicious. The desert was light not too sweet but delicious.
I took my best friend here while she was visiting from Vancouver because we both love Italian cuisine, and we were extremely impressed! The staff are polite, warm, and professional. The restaurant itself is elegant but cozy, and very nicely decorated and lit. The wine I had was great, and the food was exceptional! We ordered a few items from the tapas section (olives, seared scallops, bruschetta, garlic prawns, etc.) and everything tasted delicious and came out quickly. Our server was exceptional - I wish I knew her name so I could request her for the next time I come!
Fantastic venue with great food and service. There were a lot of option for both myself (vegetarian) and my date. The mood was great and we had a fantastic time. Very classy but wears super pleased that it worked within my student budget for a special occasion. Couldn’t recommend more there’s something great for anyone
Went for a birthday dinner. Exceptional food once again. The Sturgeon was sublime, and the Lobster Risotto was arguably the best I've ever had.
The pate definitely lived up to expectations (admittedly very high) a second time!
A must-visit if you like seafood.
We started with the fried calamari, which was probably the highlight of the night. As well as grilled octopus, which was also pretty good. I got the lobster Risotto, and my girlfriend got the black paella. We both enjoyed the food very much but our main issue was with the table placements. Our table felt like it was in the middle of the aisle, which made for a slightly uncomfortable evening. Also, i felt i was closer to the man at the next table then i was to my date across the table from me. Would come back for the food, but would recommend a more private table.
