Sabor De Cuba Ratings and Reviews
Was a nice resturant with availablility to reserve a table the night before Valentines day. Resturant Staff were nice and accomodating. The food was excellent! Service was gracious. Prices were reasonable. The only negative comment was that the table we were seated at was outside of the kitchen. The noise was not constant but 5 to 6 times during the meal there was a starteling banging which did make us jump.
Service was excellent, very attentive waiter. Food was just ok for me I love spicy and saucy and my pork was neither, the plantains were really good. Wished we had ordered the paella, it looked really good! Was not pleased with where we were seated, we had reservations and were seated in the back beside a group of 8 rude loudmouths who didn't care that there were other diners.
We love coming to Sabor de Cuba, we love cuban food!
Staff is very friendly and it's your mom & pop's place with flavorful dishes. Would recommenrd to change up the menu every so often like by adding dishes such as: vaca frita de pollo, arroz imperial, offer pastelitos de guayaba vs. emapandas for dessert.
I was surprised to find this can restaurant in Frederick Md. I am of Cuban heritage and found the food to be authentic. It was well prepared and there were very creative Cuban offerings not found in so-called Americanized Cuban restaurants. The prices were also a pleasant surprise. Be advised, the appetizers are quite substantial so either make a meal of them or skip them and go for the main entrees. My wife and I will be back often.
Sabor de Cuba is one of our favorite 'go to' restaurants in Frederick, MD. We often dine here on the weekends. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The food is very delicious and authentic. Love the comfortable atmosphere of this neighborhood restaurant. Highly recommend!
Safe choice here. Attentive, caring service by a newish waiter. Food was good considering lack of good Cuban choices in this region. The daily special was basically a Cuban version of fajitas with no tortillas. Vaca Frita was tasty. I'll keep looking for great Cuban in this area.
Had been looking to try this restaurant for some time. The food was good but the service was poor. Ordered an appetizer before ordering main meal, server took the order and then came back to get rest of the order but asked if we wanted an appetizer which we had already ordered and was being brought to the table as he stood there. We ordered a bottle of wine which he brought to the table, presented the bottle and left it without pouring it into glasses or even opening it (screw cap). Ordered dessert to share and he handed the 2 spoons to person I was dining with. The restaurant was extremely loud and was difficult to hear our own conversation. Should have asked to sit outside since perhaps it would have been more quiet. Meal was decent but will not go back again.
First time at Sabor de Cuba; we really enjoyed our dinners - Vaca Frita & Pernil. We also had the soup special for the day, described as being a pureed enchilada, which was also very good Service was fast, but it was a Sunday night, so likely quieter than usual. Looking forward to returning. Only "criticism" is that it would be helpful if servers had a better understanding of menu items to answer questions about the dishes.
First time to this restaurant. What caught my eye was the menu item, a guava empanada. This sounded good. So I went, ordered the pollo ala plancha, and saved room for dessert. The chicken was a generous portion of citrus marinated breast grilled to a sizzling hot state upon presentation. The plate also included a ladle full of rice topped with four fried green plantain mashes. A bowl of mildly spicy black beans finished the entrée. Each item flavor complemented the other and I just kept thinking that my wife would definitely enjoy this place. So would my kids. Especially when it came time for the guava empanada. Out it came, fresh, hot, and delicious. Definitely worth the trip and a return visit.
I love the sizzling shrimp and a habanaro margarita with cilantro. Don't forget the garlic for the shrimp and the cilantro for the drink! Did you get a new chef? Train him/her in your flavorful ways! The whole table wondered about the usual flavorful food. I'll be back...I know I will.
