Food was excellent. Our waitress was somewhat clueless "Hey I just got back from vacation and don't know what's going on - let me check" when asked a question about the menu.

We ordered the 4 course taste with wine pairing (for only me) and it didn't come with course 1 so on course 2 they loaded me up a wine I really didn't care for BUT they threw in a complimentary drink for my girlfriend. So it's hard to nail them on bad service when they realized their mistake and tried to make it right.

I actually would give them 4.5 stars and I would come back here.

Food was prepared well and great presentation. It took a little too long for food to come out. Portions are small for the value.

The food here was incredible, and so was the service. Our waiter Wyatt checked in with us multiple times and was very quick to bring us refills and clear our plates. I will definitely be coming back soon!

I Took my fiancé out for her birthday. Both of us have never been. Our server Eian was really knowledgeable about the best food and drinks. He even paired an amazing wine with our dinner! The portion sizes are small but the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to enjoy great drinks and amazing food.

So disappointing! I remembered a very good dinner a while back, with fun tapas. So I chose this restaurant for a gathering of long-time friends, as we didn't want "the same old thing." Unfortunately the tapas are only at night, not at lunch, so we got a menu full of "the same old thing,"--grilled cheese sandwich, hamburger, a few ordinary salads such a chicken caesar---yawn! And in addition to being disappointed in the menu, the wait for our food was long, incredibly long. In fact two different people came out at different times to tell us it was coming soon, yet still we waited. They said they got busy all at once--at noon? What a surprise!

I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant with my family. The ambiance is on the quieter side, and the warm lighting made for a comfortable and relaxing environment. We ordered two snacks, one appetizer, four entrees, and two desserts, which worked well for four people (we took half of each entree home to make room for dessert). We ordered the cauliflower snack upon our server’s recommendation, and it is not to be missed! I had the Poached Mt. Lassen Trout filet, which was tender, tasty, and perfectly prepared on a bed of couscous and turnips. Both desserts made for a sweet end to a great meal.

Service was good but slow as it took more than an hour to get our brunch entrees delivered to table. Excellent coffee, but weak, tasteless Bloody Mary. Food was tasty, artfully plated. Very noisy.

I was excited to try a new restaurant. We live in LA and Danville, so Pleasanton was a nice change. On entering the restaurant, there was a fishy smell. I almost left as that is NOT a good sign. But we stayed to try something new. This "award winning" wine list had no French Burgundies, white or red by the glass. The Green dream cocktail was refreshing and light. Then the appetizers. The hummus was so watery it would not stay on the taro chips. The cauliflower with lime and sambal was all spice and not lime. Then the fishy crab and avocado toast.....so fishy. I can't have been fresh, maybe canned? The avocado was so pureed with not avocado texture. We decided to quit and have a dessert and leave...big mistake. The Sticky toffee pudding tasted like a Trader Joe's frozen dessert. Not worth the calories. Come on...be creative!

I loved that our group of 4 was seated in a booth table by the kitchen. It was fun to watch the hustle and bustle. Our waitress was an attentive sweetheart and the kitchen even gifted us a delicious mini appetizer which was such a great surprise. Food was delicious, and their cocktails are GREAT.

I hate to say this because this used to be one of my faves but...
1) Indeed other reviewers are right, extremely slow service. We sat down at 7pm, order taken at 7:30pm, food arrived at 8:30pm, finished dinner at 8:36pm. I just wanted to leave.
2) I don’t remember it being as bright as it was inside before. It felt like diner lighting, not fine dining lighting.
3) No background music. Atmosphere felt stale.
4) Food was barely meh. Ordered trout. I could have sworn it was salmon. I asked if it was indeed salmon but server confirmed it was trout. Said that she’s heard this question asked many times before. Well, share that feedback with the chef please and find another type of fish that isn’t so similar to salmon.

I had high hopes as the menu looked interesting. The best part of our experience were the 2 hostesses who accommodated our request to change from a table to a booth. It took at least 15 minutes before our server came over to take our drink order, he wasn’t overly busy as I had just watched him milling around at the counter making himself look busy doing nothing. We asked about the best way to order multiple things, he said all at once so they come out appropriately. They didn’t. They all came out together. The food wasn’t bad but underwhelming. The best thing was the pork belly, the calamari was out of balance as it appeared to be more of a mixed green salad than a calamari dish, the tartare was over seasoned so the beef could not be appreciated and the brussel sprouts were overly bitter. We ordered coffee and dessert, one of which they were out of, this should have been mentioned when he started, he took the order and left our dinner plates and silverware - a runner brought the dessert and finally cleared our plates and realized he had to bring us new utensils as well. At that time we reminded him we had ordered a coffee. Again I could see our server wandering around trying to look busy but not really doing anything, in fact I saw him sneaking taro chips and eating at the counter. At some point the lightbulb went off, he disappeared into the kitchen to come back out with a small cup of coffee, on his way out he slipped but caught himself, I could see the coffee slosh out onto the saucer. He brought it to our table as is, when we pointed out our desserts were finished and it was too late for coffee, he made it seem like our decision to skip it. “No worries” he said, umm how about “I’m so sorry”. Summarily the ambience was nice, the food wasn’t anything to rave about and the service was abysmal (save the 2 hostesses who could be seen clearing our table at the end) I am happy to pay for a good meal and tip well, when it’s deserved.

The website didn’t show that it was only a prie fixe meal with limited choices. We had long waits between courses - 30 minutes between 2nd and 3rd courses. The bouillabaisse my husband had was not good - he said the clams tasted fishy and there wasn’t much broth. I had the asparagus risotto which was quite bland. Didn’t finish the banana dessert as didn’t like it. Such a disappointment. We complained to the manager who was very nice - she ended up comping our drinks. Won’t be back.

Usually we love Sabio. But the last two times we have dropped in for lunch, the hostess has been giving us the worst tables and then the server takes the order and food does come for a long time and they don’t even stop by to tell us there is a delay. Last time the manager took of one of the dishes my husband didn’t like off the bill which was nice. We will give it one more try at Dinner coz I love their cocktails.

We ordered the cheese platter. We we were told we could pick the cheese we wanted out of the 4 choices. The waitress said you can pick one or all 4. So we picked all 4. Then they charged us for 4 orders. When we complained to the manager, he only apologized and did not offer any compensation. If I had known it would be 4 separate orders I would have only picked 1 cheese. We were misled.

The cod dish is one of the best things I've ever eaten, moist flaky fish, excellently flavored. The secret rice was amazing. I usually hate cauliflower, however, the cauliflower appetizer was super flavorful, spicey and crunchy - yum! I'll be back!

So glad Sabio is re-opened for lunch! Their salads and sammiches are very tasty (they burger changed ALOT) but it's still better than anything else on Main St. The service needs to catch up to the lunch crowds, which I am sure it will.

We went to their 5-course New Year's Eve dinner and were quite disappointed overall. We have been to this restaurant several times before including New Year's Eve last year and always enjoyed it. This time the service was incredibly slow. Each course came out painfully slow and we were there for at least 2 and a half hours despite finishing most courses quickly as they were rather small. The food was only just okay...nothing special and definitely not worth the price we paid for it. We'll probably give this place one more try and I hope they can improve.
