Sabi Asian Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Overall, it was good. Food was really good. Price was fare
Our waitress was very good. The only thing was that we had reservations and we waited about 15 minutes or more to get our table. And it was for New Years so you would think that they will have a little special decoration.
We had a group of 8 booked through Open stable. The table was ready when we arrived and we had a great experience. The food was tasty and the ambiance of the restaurant was perfect. Service from our waiter was very attentive. We were there on a Tuesday night so there was not a big crowd.
We have eaten here many times and it is always very good. Kids are always welcome and they have a fairly decent food choice for them. My grandkids are always glad to eat at Sabi. The other thing I like is the seating always plenty of room and outdoor seating in the warmer months.
We still had to wait 45 minutes despite having a reservation on a Friday night. This was quite disappointing and the host did not handle it very well, at all. " Gee, you have a reservation but we are all full" was probably not the best thing to say to a first time visitor to your restaurant. He said he would put us at the top of the list, then forgot about us. We had to go remind him after a lengthy wait.
Great location, plenty of parking. Our choices were just average. Special chicken dish was way too breaded & exchange was made. Bang bang shrimp seemed like they were steamed, tossed in sauce. I prefer mine a little crispier. The vegetables were fresh in another chicken dish. Their wine list offers nice selections. Next time we'll try the sushi.
The restaurant was clean but noisy. The service poor. We had a party of 5. It was restaurant week and there was a special menu for the offerings. We were given 5 regular menus and 2 special menus which we had to share. The waitress came to take our order and forgot to get us drinks. We ordered apps and 4 came out and I had to wait for mine for another 5 minutes. I ordered Korean short ribs and the bones were cut at a bias and there was very little meat on them. I was cumbersome and embarrassing to try to eat off the little meat off the large piece of bone. I finally gave up and told the waitress that I did not like it. She apologized and left the meal sitting in from of me while everyone else ate. We had 2 orders of "key lime pie". These were key lime pie filling encrusted in a crunchy shell and served hot. I have never had hot key lime pie before. It was gross.
We went on a low key Friday (speed street in clt so not crowded). Our boys (5 and 7) are always happy at sabi...edamame always a hit but we loved the seared tuna special right now. Our fav, pad Thai and of course the spicy seafood , love subbing brown rice. The orange slices are such a special touch..
This is a very nice restaurant. Our server was very pleasant, and the restaurant is located in a great area within walking distance from the Hilton Homewood Suites. We enjoyed a few sushi options as well as the Walnut Shrimp. Everything was very tasty. Loved sitting outdoors. It was spacious and located in a quite part of the neighborhood. I would return again, there wasn't one con I could list.
We had a great dinner but there were a couple of really big tables of college kids . Apparently their parents didn't teach them that everyone in the restaurant didn't need to hear their every word. It was terribly loud and really diminished our enjoyment of our nightout. Staff and food was great though
There was three in or party and we ordered three different dishes. The "Korean" ribs, seabass, and lamb chops. The ribs were bone and fat. The seabass was extremely salty. The lamb chops, appetizers, and desserts were very good. We sat at the bar. There was only one bartender and the place was packed. She worked hard and under the circumstances, she took pretty good care of us.
When we decided to have lunch at Sabi, I thought I might call for a reservation. Their website was most accommodating and I asked for a reservation. I was asked to review my request and realized I'd only asked for 2 when there would be 4 of us. It accepted our request and It was comforting to know we had a seat for all 4 of us. Then it got better. The food was exactly as advertised (hot or spicy if desired) and not if one didn't. Overall; a great experience.
We've gone to Sabi a few times, most of the time as a party of two but also we had a larger group for a birthday dinner one time. Service has always been wonderful, and the food can't be beat. The sushi is some of the freshest in the entire Charlotte metro region. Great beer and wine selection. Overall, a highly recommended experience.
We looked at the menu online and when we went to Sabi's the prices were much higher if not almost doubled. Found out Saturday has lunch specials but not on Sunday. The food was good. The make great shrimp tempura and the sushi is fresh. The beef and broccoli was also very good. The pork lomein had lots of pork and plenty of noodles. The decor was nice and we sat by a window so we had a view. Was surprised we did not get fortune cookies at the end of our meal.
Wife and I went for sushi and were not disappointed. Nice place and server was attentive but left us alone too. We hadn't had sushi in awhile and used to go here when living in Davidson so knew it should be good. My wife was very impressed and so was I, will definitely be back.
We were out if town and wanted something nice. Thank goodness for open table. The sushi restaurant was very good and the reviews were true. It is a very nice sushi restaurant, had nice other selections. Service was very good. I would recommend this to anyone.
Reserved for a group get together of 6. Had updated the reservation 2x from the original 10 but the restaurant didn't seem to have been updated or didn't double check. No biggie. Surprised by the noise level as our group wanted to hear what each ther had to say. It eventually died down as people left.
Food was good and copious but was really annoyed when being charged $1 for a scoop more of brown rice after spending for $29 for wine and a la carte dinner. Really? Couldn't spare a scoop of rice, one of the cheapest food stuffs in existence?
Water glasses were never refilled the entire 2+ hours we were there. I might skip the "dining experience" and just do takeout. Definitely not good for groups at dinner who want to converse.
We had dinner here for Valentine's Day, arrived a bit early for our reservation, and were seated promptly. At first, we were a little put off by being seated in what appeared to be an extension room on the right side of the restaurant. It had just standing tables and chairs, no tableclothes or much artwork. When we asked to be moved to something with a little more personality, the hostess politely and quickly moved us to the area straight back. It had a bit more ambience, and worked fine for us. The food itself was terrific, with plenty of selection. Service was wonderful, and we were overall very pleased with our first visit. We will definitely return.
I've been here multiple times and I have enjoyed it every single time. I have been here both in a large group and in a small one, and both times I received great service. The food is phenomenal, and the service is wonderful. As a college student, I'm really concerned about prices, and Sabi's prices are reasonable. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Asian cuisine.
