We returned to Sabatinos for restaurant week. It was a very cold weeknight and the crowd for dinner was small. We were seated in a very friendly manner and served by a wonderful server named Kitty who offered helpful and point on advice about the menu and our wine selection. We ordered from the special restaurant week menu and were totally impressed by the variety and the generous portions. My wife started with the bookmakers salad which is a well known Sabatino staple and I with the minestrone. The soup was great but the salad was glorious. For our entrees my wife ordered the Shrimp Renato and I the Veal Francais. Both were delicious. The veal was perfectly prepared in a decicious batter and was as tender as could be. As I said before, the portions were very generous and were both served with an order of pasta on the side. The deserts of cannoli and rum cake were a very nice finish to a most delicious meal. My wife and I both hale originally from Connecticut which is home to some of the finest Italian cuisine this side of the Atlantic. Sabatinos can stand tall in this company. We enjoyed every bite.
Sabatino’a is still a great go to place for a business lunch. Ask for a half order of pasta as the portions are large and all pasta is available in half order sizes although it is not specified on the menu. Salad with house dressing is a must as well.
Great food, great waitress. Would definitely go back.
One of my favorites in b’More. Consistently provides the. Best food and end service.. restaurant week menu was a delight. Thanks Kitty and a the Sabatino’s team!
Great ambiance for a family celebration. Wonderful service, delicious food. A great time was had by all.
We had a 7:30 reservation, arrived a few minutes beforehand, and were seated promptly at our table. Our server, Mark did a great job. He was running around like a mad-man, as two servers had called out that evening, so he was feeling pretty overwhelmed.
Unfortunately, the food was very underwhelming. The sausage and peppers appetizer was bland, the baked gnocchi didn't have any fresh herbs or seasonings on it to boost up the flavor, and the shrimp renato was just OK. Overall, the service was fine, but the food could have been better. With all of the other great options in Little Italy, I probably won't be back.
It pains me to make this review. I have been coming to Sabatino’s since the 1970’s. My wife and I come several times each year including for our wedding anniversary. I always order the clams posillipo (red sauce), and it has been exactly the same and exceptional every time over all these years. This last visit, the clams posillipo was clearly different and far from exceptional. I also ordered broccoli with garlic and butter, but not until I was home did I realize they never served the broccoli. I assume it was still on our bill. Finally, the restaurant knew we were celebrating our anniversary but, as they have always done in the past, a small desert with a candle was not brought to our table. On a positive note, the bookmaker's salad and garlic bread were excellent.
Terrible experience. A waitress dropped her armful of dirty plates and left over food and sauce went all over one of our guests. The waitress never apologized. The son of the owner finally came over and gave us a business card and said to send him the dry cleaners bill. No deduction off our check which was close to a $200 meal. Such an uncomfortable experience from a restaurant that lacks class. This was a birthday dinner that will forever be remembered for the wrong reasons.
I have been dining at Sabs for well over 40 yrs. and like I told Mr. Vince on several occasions, it gets better each time we are there. My wife threw a 70 birthday party there and everything was fabulous. Keep up the great job!
Great food, and great service. Worth going, friendly atmosphere
