S3 Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
A stylish restaurant, beautifully created. Food was very good overall, though the menu was a little confusing for us as first timers there. But our waitress was very helpful. As the dishes "came at you" a bit haphazardly & rapidly ,the next time we will order a few dishes at a time & build up our meal. But overall a lovely experience, more fine dining than most, but not too "precious" about it! Excellent wine list!
S3 never lets us down! We love the tapas type choices & sushi to share. Delicious specials this weekend of diver scallops was out of this world! We love sitting outside & enjoy the beach front view & sounds of the surf!! Victor was our amazing server, attentive, knowledgeable & very personable!! Thanks for the icky sticky toffee pudding dessert suggestion! We never would have chose that but you assured us we would love the sweet & salty flavors which I’m still dreaming about!! You won’t be disappointed at S3! It is a little pricey but when I get great food, service & ambiance it’s worth it!!
Had a wonderful birthday dinner with some girlfriends, our lovely waitress Natalie had some great recommendations. Small plates that are shareable within a group. We enjoyed the dragon roll and the Hana roll very much. Would highly recommend and would love to return on our next trip!
First time visit. We are in town for a meeting and decided to try the S3 restaurant. The seating was great with a view of the ocean. The service was very good. The food exceeded our expectations. The techno noise was numbing. The good news was that it was not loud.
We made a reservation for 23pm and when we arrived the first they told us is trat the kitchen was going to closed in 20 minutes and they start to rush us to chose the food and drinks.
It is a very expensive restaurant, around USD70 per person, so the service should have been much better.
Solid all around. My only complaint = food staging. Of note, waitress warned that sharing plates come out when kitchen finishes order. However, everything landed essentially at same time. I don’t mind which order, but having 5+ plates at same time was not ideal. We also requested fresh plates x2, but food quality and staff friendliness were both great.
My biggest issue with the experience is that I made a specific request on OpenTable for a table location given it was a birthday occasion. There was crazy traffic so we were all late arriving I admit, but the reservation time was very early evening and plenty of tables were available when we arrived. When seated the hostess walked directly past a table set up for a party our size that fit the request made....but that was not the table that was given. I was taken to the far side of the outdoor seating, pretty much isolated, in a windy spot and the complete opposite of what had been requested. When I asked, I was told that table was not available. If the party for that table had shown up shortly after I was seated, I would not have minded. What bothered me GREATLY was that those tables were then separated in to 2 smaller tables...remained empty...and then were put back together over 30min later for a different party. There was no reason that our party could not have been seated where I requested. It was as if the request made on OpenTable was of no importance to them at all.
The food was wonderful. Once they fixed the problem with the heaters, it warmed up (provided you weren't sitting at the corner with the wind tunnel effect, but we had someone from North Dakota in our party who graciously took that seat since it was just fine to him lol). The service was for the most part good- our waitress was lovely but we were so far over sometimes it took a while for her to make it over to us, but that was only a minor minor issue. It was generally a little loud but that was the only advantage of where we were- it was quieter than the other place, so that was good.
Overall right now I would go back. But candidly if I made a special request for a special occasion on OpenTable (like this time) and the restaurant doesn't honor it again, I would not recommend it for special occasions.
