The Buffalo Block specializes in steaks, fresh oysters, seafood, and scratch-cooking, in general. We grill over live oak fire and cut all of our steaks in-house. We are located on Montana Avenue in downtown Billings in the historic Rex Hotel building. Celebrated a 50th anniversary here. Had the pork chops, surf and turf with scallops and king crab as well as the prime rib. Everything was perfectly cooked. You can tell a lot of thought goes into to the cooking. All of the dishes were paired perfectly. Our server was amazing at making the night special for the couple. We have seen a few reviews say that the value is not there however our entire table was in agreement that the value was spot on!

Reservations are encouraged for dinner, walk-ins are always welcome. We had “Crabman “ (his nickname) as a waiter. He was phenomenal - engaging, fun, professional. The food was excellent (my husband and I had ribs). Fun place!

WOW Outstanding this place was great. From the moment we walked in the door to decor was so Montana. The front windows opened to the sites and sounds Main Street below. Inside there are sitting areas with couches,chairs more comfortable than my living room. The bar area is huge with a large selection of beers, wine and top shelf liquors. The dining area is open to the kitchen with local artists works proudly displayed on the walls. The food is amazingly delicious and the staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. This is a must go to place when you come to Bozeman and a place I know I’ll be back to soon .

Located across the street from Historic Rocky Mountain College on Poly Drive, The Granary has been a landmark restaurant in Billings, MT for nearly 50 years! Originally built in 1935, the Granary served as the milling department for Billings Polytechnic Institute until World War II when they closed the doors.

The recent remodel in 2022 breathes new life into a historic building. Accents of rough cut timbers and cold rolled steel run throughout the Dining room and Bar giving the building a modern feel while keeping the spirit of Billings History alive.
