Alexander's is a one of kind restaurant where it's a pleasure eating there from beginning to end. I was greated and given a warm welcome by a friendly yet distinguished host. He took me to my table located in its elegant yet relaxing main dining room. My host was very kind and graceful, remembering me from the last time I dined there and thanking me for having returned. The food was exquisite. I had BBQ Shrimp together with French bread and butter as appetizer. Followed by a house salad an then the main entrée of Filet Gorgonzola cooked medium rare. To end I had coffee and a Dark chocolate Tart for dessert. The wonderful cuisine, amazing service, and attractive atmosphere once again created a memorable experience. One that I will always remember and cherish dearly.

Dinner is served in our mezzanine, bistro and upstairs dining rooms, Tuesday through Saturday.
Reservations are for dinner only, please. Bar seats operate on a first come, first serve basis, and cannot be reserved.
We cannot accommodate parties larger than 10. Due to the layout of our restaurant, we are unable to accommodate pets on our patio.

The food was excellent, particularly the mushroom appetizer special. The Gin Gimlet and wines were excellent. Our server was very attentive. The service from the bar was a little slow, otherwise everything was outstanding.

Located in the culinary district of downtown Harrisonburg, VA in the building which formerly housed the Strand Theater. We are proud to be independently and locally owned. Clementine serves weekday lunch, weekend brunch and dinner every night on our main floor and patio (weather permitting) until at least 9PM. We host Team Trivia on Tuesday nights (8-10PM), Open Mic on Wednesday nights (7-10PM), Live Jazz on Thursday Nights (7-9PM) and award-winning music on Friday and Saturday nights. We also feature Ruby’s Lounge in our basement which is open 6PM – 1:30AM, Tuesday-Saturday.

The menu changes daily, crafted from locally sourced, seasonal ingredients under Relais & Châteaux Chef and Owner, Christian Kelly. Our extensive wine list, curated by General Manager & Sommelier Matthew Blaszak, ensures the perfect pairing for every dish.

•Bar Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

•Parties are limited to 6 guests on Friday & Saturday.

•We allow 1.5 hours for parties of two and 2 hours for groups of four or larger. For extended dining, please book a reservation for 7pm or later/

•The Porch is heated in winter, cooled in summer, and open-air during temperate months. Enjoyable for both small parties and groups of 6-12. Also suitable for private events of 25-40 people when available.

Originally opened by Jane Vobe in 1772, this authentic reproduction public house serves up a transporting experience for the senses in Colonial Williamsburg. Everything is true to the time period at King’s Arms Tavern, from the fashion sported by servers to the pewter candlesticks—all adding to an air of colonial elegance. Inspired by 18th-century recipes, but with updates to suit 21st-century tastes, tuck in to a chophouse menu featuring prime rib, pork chops, and more.

ADA Accessible dining is available in the Purdie Kitchen. Please note this colonial building is separate from King’s Arms Tavern. Please check-in at the front, and our host will escort guests to the Purdie Kitchen.

The taverns are located in the Historic Area, and not on a public street. The Tavern is a short walk from the Tavern Parking lot which is on Francis Street.

The food is always very good. However, it was really warm in the upstairs area. The bar was sticky and there were 6 people behind the bar. Yet we had to ask for water, it was warm too, no ice, and no limes for drinks. Needs general attention to details. Will be back in cooler weather.
