The filet was cooked terrifically but it was a little bit dry. The lobster tail was huge and cooked to perfection. The asparagus was outstanding . The French onion soup was amazing. The garlic mashed potatoes were average. The caramel apple cheesecake was delicious. The rolls were great but not very warm. Outstanding views of the Roanoke valley. Overall, the atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. A little pricey, but finer dining usually is. A great place to eat in Roanoke and we will definitely be back.

Here at Hot Tuna, our food is 5-star, but our dress code is surfer chic. Hot Tuna is a member of the Farm-to-Fork Movement; our menu features what is fresh, in-season and local. Eastern Shore seafood and produce from our local farms are staples, and our menu runs the gamut, from the freshest Ahi tuna to gourmet gouda burgers. Our bartenders are as adventurous as our chefs, providing you with hand-muddled mojitos, homemade sangria and organic margaritas. We hope you enjoy your dining experience with us!

Happy Hours at Hot Tuna are my friends and my go-to place. I ordered the Smashburger and it was great! Another friend had the wedge salad and the third ate the delicious Tuna Poke Nachos. Our server, Jamie, was awesome....she was super friendly, very attentive, and nice as could be!

This is where it all started – on the banks of the Rappahannock River overlooking where we grow our oysters. We like to call Merroir a “tasting room,” just so people know to expect something different. Everything is either served raw or cooked on an outdoor grill, small-plate-style, and beautifully paired with craft brews and world-famous wines. Each menu item is singularly-focused, seasonal, and ever-changing, so there’s always a surprise in store.

Marvelous as always. Freshest-imaginable oysters!! - and the seafood roll (lobster, shrimp, and crab on a brioche bun) was exquisite. And such a view of the beautiful river...

Had the best shrimp and cheddar grits ever. Others had no filler crab cake that was broiled to perfection. Good cocktails and sweet potato biscuits were delicious.
