I have been looking for a place to make me travel through the food experience and I can say that I have had that at Llama! The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and explained every single plate. For the appetizers we ordered the Ceviche Lima and the Pulpo - both cooked to perfection. From the spices in the ceviche’s sauce to how tender the octopus was cooked we had an explosion of flavours in our mouth! For mains we had the lamb and the grouper cooked in a banana leaf - the lamb was tender and the sauce that came with it added a touch of freshness to it. The grouper was buttery and tender and the seasoning just perfect! To end our night we ordered the Chocolate mousse with a Peruvian version of mashed pumpkin and Himalayan salt. The salt added to the top of the mousse was perfect! And the cherry on top of the cake was the servers telling a story of where some of the ingredients came from and turning each plate into a view of some areas of Peru. Here in Jax and surroundings they are Top 1 on my list of best restaurants ❤️

We had a quick impromptu need for fresh fish! Did not disappoint. Halibut and diver scallops were phenomenal and the mock tails were crazy good. Our server Tory was splendid!

Came in for lunch and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. The butter with the warm bread appetizer was amazing. Our daughter loved the names of the dishes on the kids menu. She chose "I don't want that" and gave it two thumbs up. My wife tried the Shrimp & Grits Etouffee and I had the Pasta Alla Vodka with grilled chicken (additional cost for the chicken). Both dishes were awesome, and seasoned perfectly. Recommend this place for a date night or social gathering.

Absolutely delicious food! They recently changed their menu and I had a fantastic rabbit stroganoff dish. That was amazing. My brussels sprout salad was also incredible. So much flavor. My husband had the bison burger, which he found to be fantastic. I can’t say enough about the portion sizes. So much food I have enough for two meals for mine. Very generous as it should be as the prices are going up. OK about paying that much because you’re full and you have some left over. I hadn’t been there for a few years and I must say this time around it was truly exceptional. I hope they keep this menu up as there were many amazing choices. And we will be back again.

Seafood
St. Augustine
About the restaurant
The Reef, originally called Comptons, was built by the Usina family on a beautiful piece of oceanfront property, owned by the family for generations, located on tranquil North Beach, three miles north of the Usina Bridge. Comptons opened in 1989 and enjoyed great success for the next ten years. It closed in 1999 due to the ill health of Mr. Compton and hurricane damage. There are few remaining true Oceanfront restaurants in Northeast Florida, and of those, The Reef, commands the most spectacular views. Sit at any table inside and the view is dynamic to say the least, or enjoy the recently rebuilt and expanded deck where you not only look out at The Ocean, you listen to it too as the waves break and the birds cry. To complement this vista Chef Denzel Aponte' has created a menu primarily of fish and seafood balanced with beef, poultry pasta and creative specials, always fresh and sourced locally whenever possible.

Seafood
St. Augustine
About the restaurant
If you're looking for a seafood restaurant in St. Augustine, this unique fly-fishing themed restaurant offers daily fresh fish specials using locally caught fish that you don't usually see on most restaurant menus. The kitchen at BlackFly is a "Scratch Kitchen"; everything is fresh, as local as possible, seasonal and made to order. The menu at BlackFly includes Chop House selections as well as an extensive wine selection. Mike and Cindy, partners in BlackFly and owners of the Famous Collage Restaurant in downtown St. Augustine are the operational managers. The menu is the grand result of their combined expertise, their years of experience in bringing the best possible product to the table and the imaginative input of our talented culinary team. The restaurant is under the internationally known BlackFly Brand of Vaughn Cochran, a Florida artist who lives and paints in St. Augustine, Florida and who developed the famous BlackFly Logo.
