Established in the heart of Palm Springs at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains, Le Vallauris has been one of the highest rated restaurants in the Coachella Valley since its inception in 1973. The exquisite cuisine at Le Vallauris is prepared by Executive Chef, Jean-Paul Lair, who has graced the restaurant for over 25 years. The Historic Landmark was built in 1927 as a home for the Roberson family, who managed Palm Springs' first hotel, The Desert Inn. Many grand parties were held in the house for guests such as Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and many more. Later on, when the restaurant was established it became a favorite place for Presidents and the Hollywood elite, and local socialites.

This restaurant is really top notch. Our waiter, Raymond, was attentive and the Sommelier, Farouic, provided such personal service. We started with an amazing himachi appetizer followed with excellent Caesar salads. My husband had the best sea bass he had ever had and my salmon was unbelievably delicious. We were so stuffed, we passed on desserts. But they looked fabulous. We ate outside and it was perfect.

The foundation of good Italian cooking is the freshest of ingredients prepared with simplicity, bringing together flavors so no one ingredient overpowers another. Mimmo’s Italian roots begin in his hometown of Bagheria, Sicily. The fresh fruits and vegetables picked from his family’s farm were on the table, or tavola, that night. Our logo of the lemon and lemon flower, or zagara, is a symbol of Sicily’s rich history of growing and exporting lemons, and a reminder of Mimmo’s many memories of lemon picking in his grandfather’s groves. APRIL 30TH 2012 WAS OUR OPENING DAY.

Al dente is a go to favorite. Intimate atmosphere and lovely decor. Perfect for a date night or a small group for inside dining. I’ve attended group events on the patio which is lovely as well. Excellent service!!!!! The food Never disappoints. Great selection of Italian dishes and delicious desserts!

Truly an amazing experience we have not had in awhile dining out. Miguel took care of us and by the end of the night we felt like family. The menu and all of our choices were presented in detail regarding the fusion of ingredients, and the meaning behind the dish - and of course delicious! An outstanding addition to the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort.

The gentleman who was the primary food runner would come out with two of the four dishes but would set them down while facing away from the table. This was an issue because we ordered the Omakaze dinner and he was basically explaining the dishes to the potted plant behind us. We often had to ask the person refilling water glasses what was in the dishes we were eating. It would have been nice to have the dishes served to all four of us then afterwards to explain the dish to all of us at once vs the potted plant behind us as the first dish was being placed in front of one of us. Our server didn’t check back to see if we wanted a 2nd cocktail or wine but the water person was happy to relay our request to our server as we finished the 4th course. Small thing but we ate outside as we’re FT residents and used to warmer temps. We were a mix of 30-50ish yr olds and had hoped to enjoy the meal while catching up. Maybe because the patio wasn’t crowded but the thump of music was louder than necessary and made it a bit hard to relax and enjoy each others company. Finally, we’ve had the Omakaze before and love it. Last night we were surprised to have a pasta dish and beef dish. The salmon pieces were the only seafood of the evening and fresh fish is what we’ve come to expect at Nobu. Our bill was only about $1,100 so not the largest of the evening but hopefully large enough to have a second or third seafood item and to have someone other than the water glass gentleman explain to us what we were eating. The potted plant is there every night and probably already knew the dishes.

Colony club made our anniversary celebration special from the moment we walked in. Greeting us and taking us directly to our table outside, we enjoyed watching the sun go down over the mountains. Treated with complimentary champagne and starters they made us feel at home and appreciated that we choose them for our special evening. I’d recommend booking a Thursday evening reservation, the place was very romantic, quiet and overall a great experience. Think the Thursday night market in PS downtown just down the street helps with keeping the restaurant at a low capacity, at least seem to be that way for us. The food, so so so good. The salmon was likely the best salmon I’ve ever had and being from the PNW I’ve had a lot. Never had a salmon filet so thick but yet so light and fluffy. Overall a great experience for my wife and I. Prior to the dinner we went to the Palm Springs Art Museum (free on Thursdays after 5pm) which was a lot of fun, had dinner at the Colony then enjoyed the street market. All within a 1/2-3/4 mile radius.
