Went to Kahlo for my birthday. The food is pricey but oustanding. Wonderful flavors, beautifully presented. I had the Tuna Tostada as an appetizer and the Lubina Zarandeado as my main course. Service was pleasant but could be more polished and attentive.

Really great "old style " Mexican restaurant ...meaning NOT Tex-Mex/microwaved goop that so many NYC restaurants now serve claiming it's authentic Mexican when it isn't.... with fresh, flavorful ingredients, ample portions - in other words, delicious food. Maz Mescal has an outstanding, well-trained staff who take the time to check on you, your meal and anything they can do to be of service. As popular as it is, and refreshing drinks flowing on a Friday night, if there's a bachelorette or bachelor party, things will get noisy. No way to avoid that however.
