Certainly not inexpensive. But it was an experience. we thought we would leave hungry with the purchase of the 6 course meal. But we were not. Of course the rice dish helped fill any void. Beautiful presentation of each dish. The staff was excellent.

We know Christy Hill very well— been eating here for years and years. Food and service are great, and the view is magical. But the prices have crept up quite a bit over the past 2-3 years. $49 for halibut? Seems pretty steep. So … be forewarned: great restaurant, but expensive.

Celebrated our anniversary with friends from out of town and everything was perfect! The tempura lobster appetizer was delicious along with sole, the Asian stew and the oysters. Alehandro was our waiter and was excellent.

Duke's was the perfect spot for an anniversary dinner. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. It has a little bit of a vintage steakhouse feel, but we absolutely loved it. Our server was very competent and attentive. I ordered the Fillet Mignon Oscar Style and it was rich and delicious. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The accompanying potato and green beans were also excellently cooked. My husband had the prime rib and was equally pleased. It's rare that we go somewhere for a "dining experience", but on our anniversaries we do and this was much needed and well enjoyed. We will definitely be returning.

Absolute perfection in service, food quality, value! What a hidden gem. So much better than the onsite lakefront properties at the Hyatt where the only advantage is the view.

It has been years since we were last here but we had fond memories of Big Water, so we returned. We were not disappointed. The food is excellent and the view magnificent. Great service and a fun venue.

We had an excellent meal and top notch service. Thanks to Susan (our server and bartender) for going the extra mile. We shared the Little Gem Salad which was delicious. My husband had the Pan Seared Scallops which he loved and I enjoyed the Fish Special. We also had a bottle of Sancerre after our cocktails, and it was the perfect wine for our meal. I'm sure dessert would have been outstanding too, but we were too full to order any. Next time!!! Can't wait to go back!!! Thanks again Susan!!!

The head chef Chris Watkins is so creative with his food. He loves to come out to your table and talk about it. Where it’s from how it’s cooked and why it’s on the menu. Our server Gina, from Romania, was delightful. Others at the front of the house were also great. Can’t remember their names. This is a must. Best food in Truckee for sure.
