It is an experience, one I would like to repeat. The ability to mix ingredients and come up with the most incredible flavours is an art. It is impossible to explain. It can only be experienced. We underestimate Calgary and Alberta. I was so privileged to be part of the table of Eight and to hear some of Darren Maclean’s story.

We have dined at 77 stars worth of Michelin star restaurants, at least 5 3-stars and 5 2-stars. Gatsby's would deserve 2 stars at least. Excellent dishes, exquisite preparation, impeccable service. Definitely "worth a detour" and a fine choice for a special occasion.
