JJ’s Restaurant is a Vancouver institution. Both the kitchen and front of house are run by students who are in their 2nd level of cook training. Enjoy a three-course a la carte lunch which is reasonably priced and produced with the highest level of passion and care by students with the guidance of their Chef Instructors. If you are interested in a group booking please email culinaryarts@vcc.ca. Chef's Table dinner is a set menu, and courses can not be changed due to guest preferences. We have these specific proteins on the menu to further the student's knowledge in the program.

It had been years since I had last dined at JJs and I have to say I am not disappointed. The food was delicious. A 3 course meal with a surprise dish - 4 course essentially prepared and professionally presented to please the eye and the palette. I would definitely come back.

Owned and operated by John Crook and his partner Erik Heck, The Flying Pig Yaletown is referred to as a nouveau Canadian bistro in the community for its fresh, local ingredients and quality food. The restaurant opened for business in August 2011 and is known for its contemporary Canadian and seafood specials. It has a nice décor comprising of a combination of dark and light colored wooden furniture, along with brick style and white painted walls. The Flying Pig Yaletown has separate menus for dinner, lunch, brunch and happy hour. There is also a wine & beverage list featuring different types of drinks from the restaurant's full bar. Booked Honey Salt for a small birthday dinner and the staff was so pleasant, they even surprised me with a complimentary dessert! We tried their family style pasta menu and it was delicious and worth every penny! All three pasta dishes were a red tomato sauce and if one of the dishes could be swapped with a white sauce, I think the dishes would’ve been more balanced. We would come back to enjoy another meal.

Food was excellent. Very busy when we were there so service was less. In the days when it is hot & sunny there needs to be more attention to moving the umbrella’s appropriately. Our first table assigned was right in the hot sun. We are elderly. We asked if someone could move a folded up umbrella that was in the corner. NO EFFORTwas made. So we moved tables.
