Great place. We stopped in for dinner before a show at PPAC and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The service was great, the waiter was very friendly. We went with something we knew for dinner since we were on a time restriction, but we can’t wait to go back and explore the menu!

We had a delightful experience at Pot au Feu. It felt like we were in a romantic little restaurant in France. We were greeted warmly by staff and showed to our cozy table. Drinks were brought promptly-I highly recommend the Les Fleurs. I heard the people at the next table commenting on how perfect their Old Fashioneds were. We were brought warm bread which was delicious. Our appetizer was the Pate de Maison-chicken liver mousse made with brandy and served with toasts. I had Coquilles St. Jacques and my husband had the Poutine with tenderloin and Foie gras. Dessert was Pots du Chocolate and Citron Mousse. It was not an inexpensive meal but the quality and flavors are well worth it. It’s a lovely place for authentic country French cooking. We will be repeat customers.

I made reservations for my birthday to sit outside and it was lovely! It felt like a lot more of an intimate experience rather than sitting inside with other customers. The music and the interior design really contributed to the elegant atmosphere. My only complaint was that we were sitting for about 10-15 minutes before our server came over to greet us and take our drink orders. I’m not sure if there was a miscommunication about whose table we were but several waitstaff members walked by us multiple times including our waitress. The food and drinks were delicious! I highly recommend!

All the way back in 1955, the four sons of an immigrant millworker decided to take a chance. They opened a restaurant on Cumberland’s bustling Mendon Road with nothing to their names other than a shared dream and vision - fresh and local ingredients, prompt and friendly service, all to be had at an unbeatable value. They developed a motto and never steered away from it – “If you are not proud of it, do not serve it!”. That restaurant was the original Chelo’s Hometown Bar & Grille, and that motto can be found hanging in each of our kitchens to this very day.
While times change, our values don’t. As a third generation, family owned and operated company, our food is still made fresh in our commissary 7 days a week and delivered to each of our locations daily . Same ingredients, same recipes, same classic food that Rhode Islanders have come to know and love since our grandfathers first opened our doors nearly 70 years ago!

Try the calamari tossed in Thai chili sauce. It’s fantastic! No better way to start the weekend in RI than with a cold Newport Rhode Trip and a Chelo’s Chicken Finger Salad and legendary honey mustard dressing.
