Great experience with two little kids in tow! We were running late but were seated promptly and without fuss, and with both a high chair at the ready and space to park our stroller. Food service was fast and fantastic, and the waitstaff was attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. We'll absolutely be back!

Carmella’s Plates & Pints is the first restaurant for co-owners, Carmella Salem and Michael Alberter. Our kitchen creates upscale comfort cuisine.
Our dining room has a warm and cozy feel due to the wood- beamed cathedral ceiling, open fireplace, taxidermy and stained glass windows that adorn the dining room. Our guests feel as though they are tucked away at some destination lodge that exists in the heart of the Historic Southside. Local meats are delivered daily with Wild Game plates on the menu such as our staple plates like the Bison Burger and Smoked Wild Boar Meatballs. We do have an intimate 60 seat dining room and ask that guests please call us for parties of 6 or more to make a reservation. Our expansive Whiskey Bar boasts over 500 Selections. Spectacular from start to finish! I had to modify my reservation at the last minute on a busy evening and it was no trouble at all! Food had a unique twist on traditional dishes. A little pricer than my typical college student and friends meal but happy to pay extra for this experience!! Top notch.

I had a fantastic experience at The Cafe Carnegie! I ordered a Taijin Bloody Mary from the bar which was absolutely perfect. We had the Deviled Eggs as an appetizer, the gravlax and crispy capers make for a delicious twist on the classic deviled egg preparation. For the main course I ordered the Parisian Gnocchi and my guest ordered the Chopped Chicken Salad. The gnocchi was bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection and my guest thoroughly enjoyed his salad. Our server Kristy was very attentive and accommodating. Her demeanor was pleasant and we felt valued and appreciated as customers. Menu prices were extremely reasonable and each dish had an elegant and artistic preparation that paired wonderfully with a day at the art museum. This was one of the best lunch spots I’ve encountered in the city and is absolutely worth checking out whether you are planning to visit the museum or not. All in all we had a near perfect experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting or living in the Pittsburgh area.

I came to the restaurant to eat and waste time because I’ve never been to that one before. My plans were delayed, and I had nowhere to go before my train left at midnight. The staff allowed me to spend the day there and they were the sweetest group of people I have ever met. They brought me drinks and a snack. I had to make a review on my social media and I’m happy I’m able to make a review on OpenTable.

Be careful they added an automatic 20% gratuity to our bill and we had 4 in our party. The food was delicious the music was very loud but they have lots of speakers so you basically sit right next to a speaker.

DH and I were there for pre- theatre dinner. His duck confit was nicely done. The baked Brie was tasty and filling and my crab cake Binet was very heavy ( to be expected). Service was spot on and knowledgeable. We will return
