We are open for curbside pickup, takeout and delivery and offering a 10% discount on all orders! Lunch will be open from 12pm-2:30pm & Dinner from 5:30pm-9:30pm.

Italian owners, Tony Cotrufo and Enrico Fiorentini, both hail from Rome and have been serving fresh authentic Italian cuisine at their Playa Del Rey location since 1997. They offer homemade pastas, an excellent wine list, outdoor seating and daily specials.

Caffe Pinguini was awarded with the "Marchio Ospitalita" Italiana - Seal of Authenticity". The seal distinguishes those restaurants with the highest quality of Italian hospitality.

It was a very good experience. Nice place. About 25% overpriced on the menu items; not enough overpriced to cause an outrage but more than enough to notice. What looks like a 60 something dollar steak cost $75. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare, as we ask for with a great crust. Wine was good. Grilled asparagus was good. French onion soup was delish.

I have dined, got smashed drunk and literally crawled out of many a smoky yakitori alley joint in the bowels of Tokyo and Osaka but I must say that HASU serves up the best, most authentic, grilled yard bird this side of the Pacific!! Yeah, it ain’t cheap but you get what you pay for here and I find it amazing and a blessing that such a truly legit place exists in a Southbay strip mall, conveniently located close to the 405 and 91. Plus they gots my fav Japanese brew, Asahi Super Dry, on tap and also Hamachi Kama for a nice change of pace. Service is so friendly and nostalgic of Japan…….what more can I say!!!
