About the restaurant

Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. With a curated wine list, local craft beer on tap, and beautifully executed menu, Riccardo and Marybeth are thrilled to bring R Wine Bar & Kitchen to the East Bank of Downtown Sioux Falls along with their General Manager, Jane Allen, Assistant Manager Bailey Bernal, Sous Chef Caleb Carr, Sous Chef Esteban Gonzalez, and Culinary Director Adam Schumacher.

Riccardo and Marybeth welcome you to their 3rd property, Maribella Ristorante. Opening R Wine Bar & Kitchen in 2018, and Vespa Catering and Brix Wine Bar in 2022, they have created a culture of hospitality for guests who feel like family. Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and moved to Boston when he was 5-years-old. He stayed in the Boston area for college and attended Tufts University. Marybeth, born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD, moved to Boston to be a nanny and went to Somerville School of Nursing. The two met in Medford, MA, dated and became engaged in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard in 1996. Relocating to Sioux Falls, SD in 1999, Riccardo and Marybeth have developed a reputation for making people feel welcome with their three boys, Dante, Berent, and Jaxon. Together with their hand-picked team, Riccardo and Marybeth bring the best parts of hospitality to life in their restaurants, for both their staff and guests. Excellent service, and food. A perfect meal. Can’t say enough great things about the staff and food. We are from out of town and so glad a local told us this was a must visit. Thanks again for a fantastic last meal in Sioux Falls.

We got in with our reservation as soon as the doors opened at 5pm. Everyone from the host to the bus person were all amazing and very professional.

About the restaurant

When I was a child I grew up with my mother, grandmother and aunt. All of them were very good in the kitchen. They had different styles and they cooked every day. From ravioli, soup or patisserie, everything was made from scratch. Those ladies were my teachers. My first lesson was dishwashing, later it was helping as their assistant. To honor those amazing woman who helped me in my early days, I decided to open Tarquin to bring Sioux Falls our flavors, recipes and dishes. Tarquin is a piece of Buenos Aires in a remote corner of Sioux Falls commercial district. You are always going to be welcome here and we will always offer you our best.

This is the best hidden secret in Sioux Falls! I want to tell everyone in Sioux Falls and everyone visiting Sioux Falls! YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS FOOD! You will not be disappointed. We were visiting from Arkansas. It was my mother’s 79th birthday. She chose this restaurant. Tarquin is in an industrial park area. And the sign does not actually show it’s a restaurant. But if you are a foodie, you do not want to miss this restaurant! JUST GO! There were 10 in our party. Each of us ordered something different. Each dish was amazing! We each ate every single bite. I cannot rave enough about it! Kudos to the chef, host, and wait staff! We need you in Arkansas! 😃❤️

We had a tasty dinner with our siblings. My brother-in-law said his steak Oscar was the best he's had. Our server was very pleasant and our food arrived in good time. The salads were bountiful and well plated. My husband had his favorite, the steak and pierogies. It never disappoints! 22TEN is one of our favorite places.

All our food was prepared perfectly. The Nixtamal was a perfect match with all the ingredients and entrees. We had the empanada, enfrijoladas, plantains, flan, custard cake. The menu is focused, with few options, but good combinations that work together.

Situated in beautiful historic downtown Sioux Falls: surround yourself with century old quartzite and brick walls, funky & energetic ambiance, tempting & flavorful dishes, innovative cocktails and an extensive wine & beer list. Take notice of our namesake as you are stepping over the threshold, the original 1963 Crawford's logo is still there.

The decor unabashedly integrates masculine and feminine: wild west meets gypsy...from the cowhide paneled bar, quartzite bar top, iron railroad track footrest and reclaimed wood tables to the vintage tiles, jeweled wallpaper, Moroccan chandeliers and antique Indian columns ...no detail is left untouched. The same holds true for the food: from your prime cut of steak to the wild-caught salmon, every element is carefully considered.

Excellent dinner and cocktail menu, full bar, 58" LED TVs and fireplace.

One of our favorite places to eat. Always top notch service and helpful staff. Fantastic Ribeyes, great variety of specialty drinks, and the list goes on. They take great care of us every time we dine there.
