Primo, which opened in the spring of 2014, is restaurateur Nathan Lindley’s tribute to his own North Chattanooga neighborhood, presented as a classic American-Italian neighborhood restaurant. Taking its culinary direction from the traditional Italian restaurants of the Northeast, Primo celebrates the rich and comforting dishes that were inspired by Italian cooking and influenced by American prosperity.
As a casual neighborhood bar and restaurant, Primo does not accept reservations for a specific time. A limited number of guests may guarantee a waiting table at the 5:00 opening each night. Also, throughout the night guests may call ahead to the restaurant at 423.602.5555 to be added to the waiting list. The dedicated staff and lively communal environment make for a short and enjoyable wait. Come see us soon.

Primo always provides the most enjoyable dining experience with the most knowledgeable and friendly staff! Their food & wine selections are unmatched to any other restaurant in Chattanooga! Hidden gem in Chattanooga. We have been at many Italian restaurants in several places: NYC, atlant, LA… Il primo is still our favorite one: consistent flavorful food with fresh local ingredients, attentive service from host and server(Troy: he was great), and reasonable price. Plus, Their dessert never disappointed us. What else do you need?

We went to Amanda’s for our adult daughter’s birthday, 10 month old grandson in tow. We sat at a table fronting the street - perfect ambiance and a great start to the meal. From the charcuterie through the bundino, a great meal. The deviled eggs, the steak with chimichurri, the lamb, the special pork tenderloin, each arrived uniquely prepared and fully dimensioned. The California Cab - Poppy - a great accompaniment at $44 a bottle. Will we be back? Not before next weekend.

Several years ago, I decided that my future in the restaurant business would most likely not remain in the realm of fine dining and gourmands, but would rather lean towards the style of restaurant that I found myself frequenting most often - places that provided consistency and quality at a price that was fair for the quality of the food and experience. Public House plays to the comforts of good, solid food, while applying the principles of premium food products to a more casual setting. You will find all the fish is delivered from Foley’s in Boston, high quality steaks and a rotating selection of vegetable sides that are true to the region and season. You’ll also find a really good hamburger and fish sandwich, along with fun snacks and small plates that pair well with cocktails, beer and wine.
