Mark and Mary Shapley began this dining tradition in 1985 and soon became one of the premier restaurants in the state. After taking a break to raise their two girls, they have returned with the same great food and service everyone came to know. Great steaks and seafood along with their famous tamales are still the main attraction along with an impressive bar and wine offerings. Please come by and see for yourself how special this restaurant is. We were recently voted 'Best Fine Dining' by the readers of Mississippi Magazine

We come to town from Lafayette La where we have very good food. This place was just incredible. From service to quality of food, my experience was a 10+ out of 10. What makes this place so unique are the owners walking around making sure all of their customers are satisfied. All of the vegetables come directly from his garden. It’s a must if you ever in the Jackson / Ridgeland area

Tasting menu from a multi James Beard nominated restaurant; Our menu format is market driven "chef's choice" multi course tasting.

Located in the heart of historic downtown Ocean Springs, Mississippi, our establishment is a cozy historic house converted into a small restaurant. Our capacity allows us to serve a maximum group size of 4 at this time.

Join us in our culinary adventure; Owner chefs Alex (the husband from Mississippi Gulf Coast) and Kumi (the wife from Japan) create menus inspired by the seasons, preservation efforts, and whatever sounds tasty each day for our valued guests. We are a proud supporter of small scale local / regenerative farmers and sustainable seafood industry.

So please, let us cook for you. It is what we do best!

Note: please allocate minimum of two hours for dining. Menu modification due to food allergy may be accommodated with notice in advance (at least 48 hours) when possible, but not guaranteed. We are a small kitchen with shared equipments.

Farm to table restaurant located on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast, just steps away from the beach and the Mississippi Sound. Located in a gorgeous restored and updated beach front home built in 1905. We use locally sourced farm fresh ingredients to serve a menu that changes daily with availability of fresh ingredients as well as with the changing seasons. We offer craft cocktails, local beers, an extensive list of fine spirits and wines paired with a dining experience that is second to none.

Austin Sumrall is the Chef and owner along with his wife, Tresse. He was classically trained at the Culinary Institute of America. White Pillars has been recognized and awarded in many state and national publications since its opening in 2017. Austin was crowned " King of American Seafood" in 2021 and nominated by the James Beard Foundation as a semi-finalist for "Best Chef South" in 2020. His specialty is keeping his menu fresh and ever changing with local ingredients and a worldly flare.

Brittany was professional and light and informative and jolly. We had one in our party who had a little much to drink and complained. But! The rest of our part was greatly satiated and happy! The good was excellent. Tasty. Perfectly seasoned. Great evening!
