I’m embarrassed to admit this was the first time we have visited Odla and we have definitely been missing out. Food was excellent and service friendly and professional. I had the braised short rib It was beautifully tender served with a rich jus sauce and garnished with a fresh chimichurri. The accompanying celeric purée was to die for My husband had the steak frites which was served with a smoked and pickled mushroom sauce and it was a nice touch. We shared the featured vegetable which was roasted asparagus and finished up with the salted butterscotch pudding. It was an excellent evening. We are so lucky that Saskatoon is blessed with an abundance of excellent local restaurants and we can add Odla to our list of favourites.

The building was originally the grocery section of the J.F. Cairns Department Store dating back to 1907. Taverna still maintains a historical charm and character, serving delicious, exceptionally well-prepared Italian American food since 1969. Simultaneously comfortable yet aspirational.

We believe that keeping the food fresh, simple and whole is the secret to a successful dish. Italian food doesn't have to be complicated or elaborate to be spectacular.

We were in town for a swim meet and looking for a good pasta restaurant. Taverna did not disappoint. The food was top quality and delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. Will definitely be back again on our next trip to Saskatoon.

The food and service was very good as usual. The tourtiere was delicious and the pickerel was very good. Shouldn’t have ordered the $8 bread (4 pretty ordinary buns) as the mains along with the soup was more than enough. We’ve been here a number of times and the only thing we would like to see now is some new dishes on the menu along with different desserts on a regular basis.

Overall it was a nice meal. Only thing that was a bit disappointing was that we ordered an appetizer and we weren't even close to being done it and our food was brought out. It would have been nice if our server would have waited a bit before placing our main meals into the kitchen to give us time to finish the appetizer. It wasn't busy so not like she would have been scared that our meals would have taken longer. An experienced server would know this.
