Base Camp was on our list for a few weeks and we just finally went for a late date night on a friday! The atmosphere was perfect - busy and full of people enjoying each other and beautiful food, but not crowded or loud. The owner woman greeted us and she was working HARD making sure everyone was having a nice experience. Our server was a handsome young man with a nice voice and great knowledge of the menu. We ordered 6 or 7 items total and we had a WONDERFULLY complex feast full of DELICIOUSNESS... Wow. I love the food here. Everything was amazing. I stuffed myself a bit more than I usually would just to try more things.

Absolutely incredible experience! I was in San Francisco to visit my sister and it I was so glad I could make a reservation, get omakase, order a few rolls, and have a great sake selection! Highly recommend

How could we have not gone to Piglet & Co earlier? I have no idea. The only thing I can think of is the location. We typically turn onto Mission Street a half block after Piglet & Co - thereby missing an incredible restaurant. The food was incredible - we could have eaten everything on the menu. As we were heading to the Alamo for a movie, that was the only thing that constrained our food choices - how much could we eat in an hour. Definitely worth multiple visits in the future!!

Beautiful dining experience on the covered outdoor patio, which is also pet-friendly! The food was delicious, per usual. My husband and I ordered the spicy egg noodles, curry, and beef roti.

July 27 2025 second visit— second visit just as amazing as our first. The braised rib was unreal. Had to get the pumpkins and the truffle dumps again. Duck salad is some kind of magic I have no idea how it tastes so good. Mushroom noodles i would pass on next time, they are very lightly seasoned, I prefer more intense flavors. Lovely server as well who was also acting host. We all said we have no idea why this place isn’t jam packed on a Sunday at lunch but it should be!!!! Super nice patio also. So good. First visit: Such a fantastic experience at Blue Whale for dinner tonight. Arrived early and grabbed a cocktail in the bar: cocktail menu is diverse with exciting flavors and ingredients and my selection was absolutely beautiful (and delicious). Seated in elegant dining room I noticed similar attention to detail in design from Empress by Boon— brushed brass and blue velvet with thoughtful lighting. A beautiful space. Our server Ashley was truly outstanding— recommendations for wine pairings, portions and coursing were all spot-on. She really made it a memorable experience for us. Food was amazing we ordered the duck salad, truffle XLB (wow!), pumpkin puffs, sea bass and duck noodles. Every dish was not only favourful and exciting but also beautifully plated and fun. Cannot wait to come back— so refreshing to have a fine dining experience with friendly staff, great portions and good cocktails!!

There’s a lot to be said for consistently good local restaurant. We absolutely love coming here because the food and value are great! We are always greeted warmly and service is really good. The food is always on point and it has nice calm ambiance. This place has become one of our “go to” spots in downtown Redwood City!
