Sun Moon Studio is a farmer and producer-driven restaurant in West Oakland by Chefs Alan Hsu and Sarah Cooper.

We offer a multi-course tasting menu for $150 per person in our intimate, 4-table dining room. An optional beverage pairing is available for $90 per person. The focus of our menu is to highlight the bounty of local producers and farmers through the lens of our life experiences. *Please note: beginning July 18th, 2025 the tasting menu price will increase to $180. *

We are happy to adjust our menu to accomodate dietary restrictions, but require advanced notice. Please let us of your party's dietaries when making a reservation so we may plan for your arrival.

Reservations are released on a rolling basis, 6 weeks in advance at 12 noon.

With only 10 bar height chairs at the cocktail bar, the COMMIS BAR experience offers a fixed 4-course menu highlighting some the best seasonal Northern California ingredients through modern and classic cooking techniques.

Diners at the bar are invited for 1.5 to 2 hours over the entire course of the meal with the shorter fixed menu compared to our full length DINING ROOM menu experience.

Absolutely WONDERFUL! From when we walked in to when we left, everyone and everything was perfect. We ate at the bar, so we had a great time talking to the bartenders. The food was outstanding. Attention to detail was spot on. We can’t wait to go back for the dining room experience!

Great service, very attentive from all staff. Despite being not very crowded in the room we were seated in, very loud with the high ceilings. Tasty appetizers of Oysters Rockefeller and Ahi tuna stack. Great cocktails, Wiskey Ember was yummy, I had to have 3. We enjoyed the seafood grill and beet salad. Highly recommend and looks like a great place to be for happy hour if you can get there early enough in your day.3-5pm. I arrived at 5pm and many people were enjoying the patio and bar for happy hour.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary last night at Roses on Adeline. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like royalty, and taken to a quiet, table for two,just as I requested on the reservation. It was our first time at Roses on Adeline, and we plan to go there many more times after feasting on mouthwatering bread, delicious Happy Hour cocktails, salad, Pasta, smash burgers, and the spectacular dessert, lit with a candle to celebrate US! Wonderful, attentive service and a romantic ambiance.

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! In addition, our server was cognizant of the fact that we might be attending a performance and asked in advance if that was as the case. We had a well paced, delicious meal and made it to the Berkeley Rep Theater with zero stress. Well done and appreciated!

At Babette, the husband and wife team of Joan Ellis and Patrick Hooker, are in the kitchen preparing each plate to ensure that their vision and taste profile are translated to each diner. The attention to detail are evident in not only the food they make but also the ambience they have created. The interior of the restaurant is natural brick and the couple have chosen a rich color palette of deep blues and greens for the walls. The food was tasty and our server did a great job. The only thing I’d change is to have the windows and window frames in the street front outside dining area cleaned off they had a lot of spider webs and bugs on them. I understand it is outside but maybe have someone hose or sweep them down once a week or so. Overall I’d still go back. I had an enjoyable and relaxing lunch. The food and service were both great!
