Walk into TORC and you might notice the music. It's rock & roll, blues, or soul, and it's undeniably on. You might notice the energy — it's high. And you'll definitely notice our bar. It's busy serving well-made cocktails and pouring rare wines we're proud to say you probably won't find anywhere else by the glass. There are no white tablecloths. No dabbing the corners of your mouth. No pomp, but lots of circumstance. And perhaps the only reason you noticed the aforementioned is because you haven't tasted our food. HAMACHI CRUDO. GET IT!!! GET 2! Zoey, Kendall, and the rest of the staff were LOVELY. A table sat next to us that were a little loud and lively. Their Waiter approached me on my way from the toilet to ask if they were disruptive/too much. I thought that was a very nice touch and showed care. They were fine - just feeling good and boisterous. Every single thing we ordered was amazing! We were in from Boston, and you can’t get food like this there. I will be back every time I’m in town.

What a great place. The food was fantastic and unique, the drinks were creative, and the overall vibe was perfect for a dinner with friends from out of town.

I really liked the vibe of this place. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and attentive. The eclectic decor was comfortable and elegant. We had a drink at the bar for starters, both were innovative and delicious but didn’t pack a punch. Maybe it’s me. We enjoyed our food. The trio of dips with pita was good, the smoked carrot dip emulated lox a bit. The lasagna was tasty with a hearty red sauce. The maitake mushroom schnitzel was a little tough and the spaetzle was too salty. The shepherds pie was beautifully done and tasty with just the right amount of sage. It is such a pleasure to not have to examine a menu closely or grill the hell out of your server, in regards to the presence of carnage. The overall price was a little expensive, but hey, you are sitting in a gorgeous room being helped by wonderful people who clearly believe in the mission of this place and present it beautifully.

Koshō Restaurant at The Barlow is a modern Japanese and sushi restaurant in Sebastopol with a progressive focus on food, local ingredients, and sustainability. We utilize local purveyors for fresh produce and meats as well as national and international providers for fresh seafood and sushi grade fish. Koshō derives its moniker from the condiment of the same name, Yuzu Koshō. Known for its spicy, acidic and balanced nature, it appears throughout the menu in various forms; including Meyer lemon, grapefruit, and satsuma orange koshō. Our chef, Jake Rand, has traveled to many of the famous markets in Japan and has a vast knowledge of selecting top ingredients and the freshest fish and has over 20 years of experience preparing them.
