Ever since Tops Diner was established in 1942, our focus has always been to serve what our customers want, exactly when and how they want it. As the American dining culture shifts, we recognize we must strive to recreate the 1920’s renaissance that birthed the diner as we know it today, all the while preserving the historical and cultural identity that made Tops Diner the model all others hope to emulate.

By constantly evolving, we ensure our ability to provide a diverse menu of high quality options with the speed of service we’ve all become accustomed to, providing the uniquely satisfying experience synonymous with the Tops Diner name. Our hope is that we can grow as our clients do, and continue to serve both our Newark family, and our community at large.

Tops Diner is the best diner I’ve ever experienced. The food is awesome and extremely plentiful. The service is excellent. I live in South Jersey but visit this way regularly and every time I’m up this way, it’s a must to have at least one meal here!

This was a beautiful place and the server was amazing. The service was also amazing. The food is good especially their steak delicious just one thing though if you’re coming from New York, notify your bank use a credit card or use cash because sometimes if you aren’t in New Jersey a lot it won’t let the card go through other then that it is definitely worth it to go there .

We enjoy Rooneys whenever we go. There is plentiful parking, especially off season. The restaurant is lovely and the enclosed Glass-front room facing the ocean is perfect. The weather today was beautiful, and viewing the ocean as you relax at your table is enjoyable. The food is delicious, and Scott, our server , provided excellent service. My friends and I had a delicious, wonderful day!

Gather at the Blue Pig Tavern, our distinctive restaurant tucked in the corner of Congress Hall.
