Great food and service! I had chicken and shrimp fajitas and we had cheese quesadillas as an appetizer. Others in my party had enchiladas. We all had dessert- peanut butter pie, chocolate cookie sundae, strawberry cheesecake- all excellent. Great coffee as well!

We aim to provide the best Modern Mexican dining experience on Long Island. Our menu incorporates both traditional Mexican fare and our own modern interpretations of customary dishes. The menu's mix of small and large plates, as well as its two large communal dining tables, hopes to inspire long celebrations over food. Since no great cantina is complete without a lively bar and lofty cocktail program, Tocolo Cantina promises to deliver the best margaritas and sangrias around. The goal – to guarantee a wonderful meal with authentic cuisine and fabulous margaritas, serve over 50 artisanal and ancestral mezcals, and over 100 different types of tequila brands in a vibrant unique atmosphere that boasts excellent service. Ruta Oaxaca Mexican Cuisine opened in Astoria in 2021 with such a wonderful and successful home run that a second location opened in Patchogue in March 2022.

Ruta Oaxaca means “Road to Oaxaca,” a historic state in the southern part of Mexico. Mr. Castillo and his Partners are keenly focused on honoring Oaxacan culinary traditions, whose fame is derived in great part from its many varieties of moles. By legend, these ancient recipes are more than sauces, they are the very focus of the meal. Ruta Oaxaca proudly features four moles, each prepared using the Oaxacan mole recipes that have made the cuisine world famous.

My family of four had a wonderful family dinner tonight. Nora was our waitress and she was attentive and kind. The food was amazing. My children loved the chicken empanadas. I had the trio tacos, and my husband had a skirt steak. All was prepared perfectly. The drinks were great as well. We will absolutely be back to try more options on the menu or repeat. Desserts were top-tier as well with the heavenly nachos and the fried banana cheesecake great ambience for either girls night family night or date night we loved it.
