My husband and I went to Black Cat Truffle by Liam Downes and were so impressed with the high quality dishes and service that we received. I visited Wild with a Sydney friend who eats out there a lot. We both spoke about the quality of the food and the wines we had and the fact that we left feeling that we had eaten beautifully prepared and balanced meals without the feeling of having eaten excessively. Wild has a really good reputation in Castlemaine and last night really lived up to it. The only slight negative was the noise level as there was a table with about 12 people who were very noisy. As we were near the end of our meal we were able to leave shortly after the noise level increased.

The four of us drove from Warragul to have lunch at this lovely hotel. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the waiter was efficient and attentive without being intrusive. Two dishes really stood out for us: the yummy gnocchi with the pumpkin sauce and the apple pie. Our experience was well worth the drive.
