The truffle hunt was a nice and interesting activity, with very detailed explanations by Liam the very warm & friendly owner about the types of truffles on the property, and the difference between using dogs (at this property) as compared to European practice of using pigs. The hunt was fun, the efforts that Liam and his precious dog were very much appreciated. After the 1+ hr of hunting and digging, we got to dig out about 15 nuggets in varying sizes. Staff were all super friendly and efficient. The degustation menu was delicious even tho the generous shavings of truffles in each course were underwhelming for the 4 of us. Had expected stronger truffle aroma and flavour. The shavings served with the dishes were a visual feast though. That said, even without the truffles, the food was delicious.

The boardwalk is my favorite place to go in Bendigo. I’ve been there so many times and I’ll always continue to go there and take my friends and family that haven’t been. The staff are warm and welcoming, absolutely friendly, and I love The atmosphere x

About the restaurant
A place that feels like home.. I don't mean that in a sense that the place is covered in dog hair, the tv is blaring, the kids are screaming and there's lego all over the floor; more in a sense that you feel welcomed, content and at home from the minute you enter, right up until you leave. We wanted to create a place, that I myself, would want to visit on a regular basis. A place where your name is more important to us than your money is. A place where you feel like a regular from your first visit. A place where you feel like a part of our family. A place you felt you've been before. A place that feels like home.... Ok, so we have fancy wine glasses, twinkling candles, nice chairs and really shiny cutlery, but don't let that fool you... We're humble, both in our service and in our food, and pretentiousness and oversized egos were banished from the premises the day we started trading. We like looking the part, but life's too short for airs and graces...

Fantastic service and outstanding service from the team at The Kitchen - we went for dinner and followed up with breakfast coffees the next day. Food was excellent - the vongole linguini as good as the reviews suggested and the barramundi the real deal, good superbly. For some decadence, we had the cheesy garlic bread - oh my! That was excellent. Good range of wines/local beers by the glass on tap and ambience with the fire going just what we wanted on a cool Satuarday night in Winter

About the restaurant
Sam Miranda had a visionary plan for his ‘Field to Fork’ Produce Garden which was inspired by his childhood. He wanted to not only produce premium varietal wine but also bring a touch of home to the winery restaurant. Remembering back when he handpicked vegetables with his father, Pop Miranda and helped make fresh mouthwatering traditional Italian dishes. Sam has created a holistic sustainable produce garden, including herbs and fruit trees which he has integrated with local resources, such as irrigation water which comes from our local King River to assist with producing the best harvest for the restaurant.

Ballarat
About the restaurant
We are situated in a heritage laneway warehouse within the CBD of Ballarat, an easy seven minute walk from the train station. Find us tucked away in the nook of McKenzie Street.

The large open space indoors with natural skylights, indoor plants, wood fire and air con creates a relaxed vibe. The outdoor dining space under the umbrellas lends itself to feel glorious yet secluded as you look up the laneway to the hustle of Ballarats' streets. Taste a classic menu with a twist offering an all day breakfast and lunch.

We are proud to use local flavours and produce from the region alongside our house roasted coffee.

We have easy access for prams and wheelchairs, and can cater for dietary requirements with our versatile menu.

Immerse yourself in a piece of Ballarat history, taking a moment to admire the restoration of the building from the early 50’s with the original sprinkler system on display.

About the restaurant
At Bonnie, the focus on locally sourced produce and our modern take on the classics set us apart from the rest.

Bonnie's robust wine list by winemaker Nick Brown, focuses on approachable wines matched with a wine-friendly menu.

Flavour-feigning friends know it’s really all about the delightfully different, hand-stretched delights flying out of the brick-lined pizza oven entrance that are the stars of this show.

With each of the eight pizzas named lovingly after the fourth-generation Brown children, Bonnie is first and foremost about family, wine and pizza.

Inside, expansive north-facing views connect the architecturally designed dining room to a beautiful, landscaped garden. Outside, a circular terrace area on the lake's edge takes in 360-degree views of the surrounding vineyard, perfect for pre-dinner drinks.

Bookings are essential.

Due to the chillier weather, we decided to eat indoors. Good decision , the atmosphere was lovely , not too noisy, we could hear our conversations easily. The waitress that served us was lovely, friendly and efficient. So many lovely things on the menu, it was hard to choose! I have been leave for the past 4 weeks, and have had 3 different catch ups with friends during this time, and still one to go! It is definitely my go-to place😊
