Opened in January, 2011, by co-owners George and Mikaela, Oh Lala! offers personalized experiences for its guests, ranging from a laidback sampling of hors d’oeuvres and wines, to a leisurely look at the full menu.

The restaurant is beautiful, and food was delicious. Wonderful traditional but upscale Yucatán style food. The bar connects to the restaurant, and provided a beautiful and swanky and energetic vibe. Fun DJ music with some guest dancing, but it was not painfully loud or right next to us. Highly recommend the molcajete (large volcanic bowl) to share.

Inspiration for Primo comes from the love for food, ancient spirits, local crafts and rustic cooking. Trying to recreate in a small outdoor space under a beautiful tree, the essence from original Playa del Carmen and bring an authentic Mexican food where everything is cooked with wood fire, underground oven, comales and grill, as has been done traditionally in most Mexican small towns for centuries. Primo means cousin in spanish, as a common slogan in Mexico we say Primo to refer to really close friends, the ones that may be closer than family. Our intention with this name is that guests feel the confort of gathering in a place that will taste and feel like home as we do. We have developed the interior design with locally made tzalam wood furniture, bejuco lamps and a chukum finish for the walls. We pride ourselves of using local and sustainable suppliers for most of our ingredients.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had and the cocktails were sooo amazing too, it felt like i was drinking something from a professional mixologist. Recommend the octopus, the bone marrow and the lechon

This is a very nice place for a couple or two couples to go to and have a nice meal by the water. On the day that I was there it was a little too windy and there were a group of people outside the deck on the beach, making a lot of noise They were having. fun. Nothing that I could say bad about but they were a little annoying when you’re having dinner.The prices were very fair and nice portions. The service was a here on the slow side, especially for drinks. I would say they could be a little more creative on the desert menu otherwise it’s a very nice place. I would definitely go back & recommend it.

The menu features items from many different Latin American countries and we went with a group of 6 so we could share plates and try a lot of different things. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and fun, and the decor of the restaurant is stunning. Highly recommend for a special occasion dinner. Our tab for the 6 of us was $1000 including tip.
