We’re a casual and cozy restaurant serving up Asian small plates—from fun improvisations on that theme to faithful renditions of classic dishes that we love. We love the name “bonito” because it’s both the Spanish word for “beautiful” and the name of one of the most important fish in Japanese cuisine. Thus, it’s the perfect name for a restaurant that seeks to explore the shared traits in the cuisines of Vallarta and Vietnam, delving into our mutual love for funk, citrusy brightness, and carefully calibrated spice.

This location is in Zona Romántica right next to the beautiful 200-year-old Banyan Tree. Comfortable air-conditioned dining room and a gorgeous outdoor garden provide the perfect setting for all occasions.

Our most popular items are ramen, pho, pork belly bao, soft-shell crab bao, coconut shrimp rolls, summer rolls, green papaya salad, potstickers, lobster dumplings, pork belly dumplings, teriyaki salmon, Korean BBQ beef, and green curry.

Surprisingly superb food! Bonito is as good if not better than the best Asian restaurants in LA at 1/2 the price. Wonderful outdoor space.

We were quickly seated with our reservation. We were greeted by our server and allowed considered time for options. The frog leg appetizer was amazing. I was properly advised on the portion but really could have enjoyed this in a larger portion as my entire meal (with the bread to soak up the olive oil, butter, garlic, and parsley sauce). The cezuela seafood bowl was also tasty. Certainly we will return on our next visit to Vallarta.

Excellent, Christian and his support staff provided wonderful service for dinner for eight. The food from seafood to oossobuco was prepared to perfection and the gelato and after dinner drinks completed the meal! The sax and guitar player added to the ambience, although maybe a bit too boisterous. Overall a delightful experience!!!

Morocco is a beautifully designed restaurant at a great location right on the beachfront with a unique design featuring water encasing the booths. The food is quite good and the service was great. It may be a little pricy compared to the average restaurants in the city, but not as expensive as some others we ate at.
