Our family of five came for Easter. It was a set menu of three courses with a choice of meat, fish, or vegetarian main course. They accommodated our gluten-free request for one of the meals. The food was exquisite, both in taste and presentation. The portions were just right. The service was outstanding, and ambience delightful. The staff was friendly, personable, and professional. What a gorgeous setting in the forest—a tastefully and elegantly decorated dining hall and lovely gardens. If I had to name a small flaw, it would be that the soup was a little too hot. But that was insignificant! It was delicious, as was everything else. We will be back again the next time we visit Wiesbaden.

In landschaftlich wunderschöner Lage – vor den Toren Frankenbergs am Eingang zum Nationalpark Kellerwald und direkt am beliebten Fahrradweg zum Edersee, liegt die historische Walkemühle. Im Jahre 1358 wurde sie erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Lange Zeit fertigte hier die Tuchmacherzunft ihre Stoffe. Sie veredelten, verfilzten und verdichteten bereits im Mittelalter ihre Tuche durch Walken mit den Füßen. Später gab es dazu Apparaturen: die Walkemühlen.
Noch vor einigen Jahrzehnten betrieben die Inhaber eine Spinnerei und Kämmerei. Von 2007 – 2009 wurde das Anwesen umfassend saniert, seitdem dreht sich das unterschlächtige Wasserrad wieder. In dem einstigen Mühlengebäude, das in Fachwerkbauweise errichtet wurde, befindet sich unser Restaurant mit seinen verschiedenen Stuben.

Fabulous evening place after the opera. Great drinks, delicious bread selection to start, unique, interesting, and high quality cuisine over all. The ambience is swanky and the live music played quietly throughout the evening is a great touch.

Great location, just by the river. Plenty of regular, veggie and vegan burger options, also loaded fries. The experience would've been better if there was a non-smoking area outside. The smoking neighbors really ruined the mood and the appetite. Just divide the outside in smoking and non-smoking side! It's not that difficult...

Mitten im Naturschutzgebiet, flussabwärts von der Steinheimer Mainbrücke, finden Sie unser Restaurant Mainpark.
Die modern-deutsche Küche mit mediterranen Einflüssen wird komplettiert durch Soul Food sowie Gerichte für Gäste, die sich gesund ernähren. Dabei wurde Wert darauf gelegt, dass das Menü vor allem Familien anspricht und Gästen jeden Alters eine großzügige Auswahl bietet.

Das Restaurant verfügt über zwei Etagen, wobei das Erdgeschoss barrierefrei erreichbar ist. Im Innenraum stehen rund 100 Sitzplätze unseren Gästen zur Verfügung, darüber hinaus kann aber auch ein Wintergarten und eine Terrasse mit jeweils 50 Sitzplätzen genutzt werden.

Die Räumlichkeiten des Mainpark Restaurants eignen sich ideal für Meetings, private Feiern und Hochzeiten.

Actually, a good and pleasant location at the Main. If it is windy and cold, you may find a seat in the sunroom. There are also tables upstairs which provide a good view over the Main but was not open for visitors at the time we visited. The food was good, but we found the portion of vegetarian dish (Gemüse Auflauf) to be quite small.
