The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport.

The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Our menus change on a regular basis and we also offer a small selection of seasonal specials on a daily basis.

We welcome children over the age of 7. Dogs are welcome in the "pub" area of the Cat, they are not permitted in the dining room

We booked Casaons as a fortieth birthday treat for my son. We did initially think it seemed a little expensive. However that was soon overridden by the amount and quality of food we received. We will definitely visit again. It is lovely to have such a lovely restaurant within walking distance of mu house. Please don't disappear.

The entire evenings experience was delightful I celebrated my birthday with my husband as a last minute decision and so pleased we did. The staff are fantastic, the restaurant is decorated beautifully and has perfect finishing touches. So much thought has gone into everything to provide a first class meal and pleasant fine dining experience. The food is phenomenal- so tasty, hot and beautifully presented. We had the 5 course banquet and this was exceptional value for money. The portion sizes are very generous and unfortunately we could not manage the entire meal but we given boxes so we could take home and enjoyed the next day for another meal! I also received a beautiful and tasty birthday cake which was a really lovely touch. The coffee is also delicious, and the baileys at end finished the evening off a treat. We cannot wait to return. Thank you to all the team at Masala City. Keep up the fantastic hard work you provide to delivery fantastic food.

Lovely restaurant. Food was delicious with a good choice on the menu. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Ambience was nice. Not too loud so good for a conversation. Overall a lovely meal out. Would come again.

A very lovely pub with 2 little snugs and a larger room. Friendly, attentive service and a good wine recommendation! I imagined it's lovely with the open fire in winter. The food was lovely, especially the roast venison and walnut chilli. A lovely selection of veg with the roasts, nicely cooked. My parents really enjoyed it, and they're usually the first to comment if it's not up to scratch, so well done!! Thank you!
